Pelosi Family And Guests Flew Air Force Plane 206,264 Miles On Alcohol

Common Sense Commentary: The same politicians who scream loudest about carbon and global warming cause most of it by their constant release of alcohol fumes and hot air as they fly high high high ... on your tax money. RB

My friend Rob Storey dug this up ....

 NANCY'S PLANE IS GONE
It's Gone, gone, gone ... never to return!

Well, it looks like the old broad of the House will have to pay her own way back and forth to California  (Mexifornia).

The Air Force took her jet away from her.
 Read the article below.

USAF TOOK NANCY 'S JET AWAY (Verified by Snopes)

The real reason that Nancy Pelosi is considering retiring is that they took her Jet away.
Ah, poor baby! As a result of a Judicial Watch filing under the Freedom of Information Act, the USAF released documents detailing House Speaker Pelosi's use of United States Air Force aircraft between March 2009 and June 2010.

The data are published in the Judicial Watch Verdict of December 2010, Volume 16, Issue 12.
Here are the main highlights revealed by the USAF.
Keep in mind that all the data below relate to United States Air Force aircraft used by one woman over a sixteen month period.

Several of these flights included Ms. Pelosi's guests, such as husband, grown children, grandchildren, various in-laws, friends and hangers-on. Over 95% of the trips were between the west coast and Washington DC, for what you might call a commute between home and the office.
READ IT and WEEP!!
Total trips: 85 over a 68 week period, or 1.25 average trips per week.
Total mileage: 206,264 miles, or 2,427 average miles per trip.
Total flying time: 428.6 hours, or an average of 5 hours per trip.
Cost to the taxpayers: $2,100,744, or $27,715 per trip, or $1,285,162 per year!
Cost of in flight food and alcohol: $101,429; $1,193 per trip; $62,051 per year.
On one junket to Baghdad, according to the Air Force report, she had the aircraft bar stocked with Johnny Walker Red Scotch, Grey Goose Vodka, E&J Brandy, Bailey's Irish Cream, Maker's Mark Whiskey, Courvoisier Cognac, Bacardi Rum, Jim Beam Whiskey, Beefeater Gin, Dewar's Scotch, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Jack Daniels Whiskey, Corona Beer and several varieties of wine.

This was obviously a very important "GUBMINT BIDNESS TRIP".

Evidence generally speaks for itself, and in Ms. Pelosi's case it speaks the language of abuse and evidently a serious familial drinking problem, for in a single year she and her spawn drank an amount in excess of the net income of the average employed American!

When she said, "If the stimulus doesn't pass, five hundred million people might lose their jobs...", I thought she was unintentionally revealing her ignorance. I'm now more inclined to think she was pickled.

Even though she can no longer abuse the USAF, she can either fly on her broom, or fly Southwest Airlines, where bags fly free.

Old Common Sense Finally Passed Away After A Long Illness

Common Sense Commentary: A Memorial Blog in the name of Common Sense.

An Obituary printed in the London Times

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

 Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

Why the early bird gets the worm;

Life isn't always fair;

And maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason. He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights; I Want It Now;  Someone Else Is To Blame; I'm A Victim; Pay me for Doing Nothing. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember Common Sense you are entitled to be a member of The Common Sense Memorial Blog. No dues, no rules, no fees, no pleas ... Just Common Sense Commentary, thoughts, questions and suggestions. RB

Black African Christians More Attuned To Truth Than U.S. Liberal Pols And Supremes

Common Sense Commentary: Obama, Congress, The Supreme Court and the U.S. News Media didn't listen to American conservative Pastors and Churches
so why would the President pay any attention to Christians in his native land? RB

This from The POLITICAL INSIDER

38,000 Christian Churches Just Made

a HUGE Move Against Barack Obama!

President Barack Obama is in Kenya today for a global economic

summit. It’s his first visit to his father’s home country while President.

While he is trying to develop strong ties between America and Kenya, millions of Kenyans don’t want want to hear about “gay” marriage and the homosexual agenda.

Now, thanks to the effort led by Mark Kariuki and 700 Kenyan evangelical pastors, an alliance representing 38,000 churches and 10 million Kenyan Christians have signed on to a letter which tells Obama to not talk about gay rights!

They are not happy with Obama’s secular worldview. Obama famously changed the lighting at the White House to the “gay” flag after the Supreme Court struck down Ohio’s gay marriage ban.

“We do not want him to come and talk on homosexuality in Kenya or push us to accepting that which is against our faith and culture,” Kariuki said. Kariuki welcomes the president’s visit but says leave “the gay talk” in America.

“Let him talk about development; let him talk about cooperation; let him talk about the long-time relationship Kenya has had with America,” he said. “But about our beliefs and culture– keep off!”

Obama has used previous trips to Africa to urge governments to respect gay rights. Kariuki said the open letter is a warning to the president.

“The family is the strength of a nation. If the family is destroyed, then the nation is destroyed,” he said. “So we don’t want to open doors for our nation to be destroyed!”

Pro-family activists took to the streets of Nairobi this month, urging President Obama to avoid the subject when he visits.

“Since Obama has a Kenyan descent, I think he should be more familiar with our culture. Africa has a conservative culture,” said one of the participants in the pro-family rally. via CBN News

Practicing the gay lifestyle is illegal in Kenya, along with 37 other African nations. Bishop Kariuki said he’ll fight to keep homosexuality a crime in Kenya, as he believes it is an abomination to God.

“God did not create man and woman so that men would marry men and women marry women,” the country’s deputy president is quoted saying. Another lawmaker warned, “We shall tell him to shut up and go home” if he talks about gay rights. Kenya is 82% Christian, and clearly has no patience for Obama’s views on homosexuality. It wasn’t long ago that Obama claimed he believed marriage was between one man and one woman, but no one believed he meant what he said. At this point, it’s difficult to consider Obama a Christian.

1,200,000,000 Muslims: Here Is One Of The 15 or 20 To Speak Against The Terrorists

Common Sense Commentary: I have just four words for this young Muslim man .... "Watch Your Back Haseeb". I predict he won't live long. Those Muslims he says aren't really Muslims outnumber him by at least a billion and any one of them is a potential assassin. The various sects of Islam hate each other as well as us, but especially those few Muslims who speak out against their terrorism and extremism. I admire Haseeb for his courage to speak up, but that is probably what will get him killed and is likely the reason those Muslims who believe as he does are silent. The Nazis, Communists, Mafia, KKK, Street Gangs and Black extremists have all bought the silence of good, descent people with threats, intimidation, violence and murder. RB

Muslim Man’s Epic Rant Against
the Islamic State Goes Viral [Video]
I commend Haseeb for condemning ISIS and the violence in such a passionate way. However, there are far too few Muslims standing up decrying terrorism and the atrocities committed in the name of Islam and the Quran. Regardless of how Haseeb feels, these terrorists are Muslim and they feel they are following their holy book. I agree with him that every last one of them in our countries should pack their bags and head to Syria or wherever in the Middle East and never, ever come back. Of course, I also want to see each of them take a dirt nap, but I digress. Haseeb has the right attitude and is a proud Brit, but he is just one. there are millions of Muslims out there that are in silent agreement with ISIS. The religion of peace has morphed into the religion of pieces. Actions speak louder than words. The only reason all of Islam is being blamed is that the overwhelming majority of terrorists on the planet are Muslim and the silence from the Ummah is deafening and damning.
From TheBlaze:
Haseeb Ahmed, a Muslim who is publicly urging people to unite against terrorism, published a short video earlier this month condemning the Islamic State that has now gone viral.
Ahmed, 26, who described himself as a “proud British Muslim,” lambasted the violence being perpetuated by the terror group in the two-minute clip that was uploaded to YouTube and Facebook, and implored extremists who are sympathetic to the Islamic State and who reside in the U.K. to leave the country.
“For those people who do support these attacks and do support these terrorists who are killing innocent people — you guys should all go pack your bags, go to Syria, and never be allowed to set foot in this country again,” he said. “This is a good country it gives a lot of people opportunity. If you’re not here to benefit the country, then pack your bags and get out.”
Ahmed — cousin of famed British boxer Amir Khan — also said that he believes that the Islamic faith is a religion of peace and that Islamic State members are not truly Muslims.
“Hopefully everyone should unite and be together and stand against these terrorists who aren’t Muslims. They say that they’re Muslims and they recite all these verses taken out of context,” he said. “I condemn these actions — all terrorist actions. Killing anybody is against Islam. It says in the Koran killing one person is like killing the whole of humanity.”
Ahmed continued, telling viewers not to be fooled by “propaganda and how people sometimes people scapegoat the whole religion.”
Ahmed later told the Daily Express that Muslims in Britain need to be more vocal about opposition to the Islamic State, accusing those of remaining too silent of ”contributing to the problem.”
“Britain wants British Muslims to come out and condemn terrorism and on the whole I don’t think they are condemning these things enough,” he said. “We need to conclusively denounce terrorism.”
He told the outlet that he also believes that the burqa should be banned, and that only those who speak English should be permitted to live in Britain. Read more about Ahmed’s views here.
America is at war abroad and at home with radical Islam. Denying that a terrorist is Muslim when he is proclaimed so, is dishonest and misleading. People want to see the good in all religions and other people – but when a religion boasts millions who believe in brutality and violence… who do not believe in freedom or rights… they start to have their doubts about that group of individuals. It is a pity more Muslims don’t speak up like Haseeb has. But he is deluding himself if he doesn’t think there is something seriously wrong among the faithful of his religion. Only honest reformation within Islam would work and I don’t see the will among Muslims to do such a thing.

A Cold, Hard Fact From Cold Hard China At Cold Hard Harvard To A Reasonable Professor

Common Sense Commentary: If you take away Christianity... You can't hire enough police. It was Christianity, not religion, which founded our nation and flourished with success until recent years. Why?
What a Communist, Atheist, Chinese visitor taught a Harvard Professor who recognized the truth of it about the United States of America, and why we are now diminishing in every way and crime ridden. Other nations have lots of religion with minimal Christianity and high crime rates as well.

Artificial Intelligence Expands The Power Of Knowledge ... For Good Or Bad

Common Sense Commentary: Wisdom would confide in an honest, thoughtful man not to covet the infinite attributes which are God's and to be content with only what God has intended for humanity's need to know. RB

Artificial Intelligence Expands The Power Of Knowledge... For Good Or Bad
The power of (AI), Artificial Intelligence, is the near limitless accumulation, precise manipulation, singular intellectualization and controlled dissemination of factual information ... for good or evil. This phenomenon was prophesied 534 years before the birth of Jesus. You should read the entire book of Daniel but especially the 12th chapter.

Daniel's amazing prophecy of the end times was concluded, by God, in the 12th and last chapter,  God told Daniel in 12:4 to "shut up" the prophecy "and seal the book even to the time of the end" when, He said,"many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."  It is obvious to me the book of Daniel is coming unsealed.and opening up right now. And yes, "In these end times ... knowledge shall be increased".  Neither Daniel nor anyone else understood the unbelievable extent unto which "Knowledge"would be increased "in the time of the end". It is becoming more clear every day that you and I are living in that "information age" which is also "the time of the end". We are seeing with our very own eyes Lucifer's conclusive, drive for fulfillment of his treasonous desire to be "like" God in omniscience (all knowledge) and to give men that same limitless knowledge. God quoted Lucifer's own ambitious words, to that effect, in Isa. 14:14 "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. That would include God's omnipotence (all power), His omnipresence (present everywhere) and His omniscience (all knowledge).

Because Lucifer lusted to dethrone God and BE GOD, he was cast out of heaven into the earth, to which he brought his darkness, having lost his Luz ... light and therefore "darkness was upon the face of the earth". Gen.1:2. Later God said, "Let there be light" and proceeded to create a world of things including the tree of life, and the "tree of knowledge of good and evil".  Then he made Adam and Eve. The first thing God told them was that they could eat any thing they desired including the tree of life. There was just one thing excluded and sequestered for God alone ... the tree of all knowledge, both good and bad. This was the very tree Lucifer lusted after and enticed Eve and then Adam to partake of since he, himself, was then in the form of a snake and could not eat fruit.

What was it, about the tree of knowledge, so appealing to Lucifer and humanity ?
Lucifer called God a liar and suggested that God was just greedy and stingy with His knowledge and didn't want to share His total knowledge or His Godhood with anyone else. "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil (all the facets of knowledge)." Gen.3:5.

So what was God's response to people's lust to be their own gods with Godlike omniscience (all knowledge), and do whatever they desired with the knowledge and power to do it?  "And the LORD God said, Behold, theman is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden ....." Gen.3:22-24. These verses tell us of Lucifer's and humanity's choice of "all knowledge, good and bad" over eternal life from the tree of life, which has become symbolic of the redemptive tree of Calvary upon which Jesus gave His life to purchase our forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

At Babel, it was the lust for human omnipresence (all humanity as one), human omnipotence (all powers united) and human omniscience (all knowledge) that motivated the human race, against God's will, to unite as one and thereby gain power to do as they pleased, consolidating all their individual knowledge and skill into a single united body or nation kingdom. They determined, by their own united presence, knowledge and power, to build, by their own hands, their own way to heaven, a stairway in the form of a tower from Babel up to Deity. Theirs was the sin of Lucifer , recorded in Isa.14:13-14, who 5 times in two verses said "I will" instead of, as Jesus prayed the night before His crucifixion,  "Not my will but thine be done".  So Lucifer and most of mankind still shout out in rebellion, "Not thy will but mine be done".

And so the sin of Lucifer has become the will and pride of the fleshly human heart. It is to seek and give others, as the highest compliment to fleshly ears, their desire for appearance (presence), influence (power) and education (knowledge). It was her vain need for these lofty, exalted attributes which motivated a crafty, intelligent woman of Tekoah to approach King David to mislead him in a conspiracy. When the King discerned she was lying, she thought to appeal to his own vanity with her highest flattery and adulation. She eulogized King David,
"As an angel of God, so is my lord the King, to discern good and bad .... My lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth." 2 Sam.14 & 20. This highest form of deified flattery was born in the mind of Lucifer, a fallen "angel of God" who first yielded to its magnetic allurement and then passed it on to worldly men and women, including this woman of Tekoah. It is also often seen in the rich, famous and powerful as well as sociopaths of today.

So now, intelligent men have created a means of compounding knowledge, and are installing it in the brain cavity of robots. Though Artificial Intelligence is in its infancy, it already surpasses human intelligence in many ways and is rising rapidly.

Nevertheless, be it known that "knowledge", like truth, is neutral. A matter may be bad but the truth of a matter is always a good thing. So, a thing may be evil within itself, but the "knowledge" of the thing is always good. "Knowledge" implies truth and facts whether it concerns good or bad. It is not knowledge which is bad, but the thing it defines and who is using it in evil ways. RB

Exodus 31:3   "And I (the Lord) have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and inknowledge, and in all manner of workmanship."

Isaiah 33:6   "And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation."

Prov. 1:22 "Fools hate knowledge."

Proverbs 10:14   'Wise men lay up knowledge".

Artificial Intelligence Soaring Up From The Deep To Take Control Of The World?

Common Sense Commentary: I am afraid that Artificial Intelligence, like the scourge of Islam's firebrand, deeply fanatical religion, is here to stay and will run its course, as it were a plague, to the end of the age. Something as potentially earth changing, with the almost limitless power of super-human intelligence, surely requires the most extensive and precise investigation. However, since extinction of the human race will not occur, as suggested,  because of the scientific development of AI, Christians need to look at it through the prism of Biblical prophecy rather than human prognostication. To that end I again offer the, until now, totally unimaginable existence of the Revelation's "IMAGE OF THE BEAST". RB

Revelation 13:15   And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

'Artificial Intelligence (AI) is as dangerous as NUCLEAR WEAPONS':

AI pioneer warns smart computers could doom mankind Expert warns advances in AI mirrors research that led to nuclear weapons He says AI systems could have objectives misaligned with human values Companies and the military could allow this to get a technological edge He urges the AI community to put human values at the centre of their work. Artificial intelligence has the potential to be as dangerous to mankind as nuclear weapons, a leading pioneer of the technology has claimed. Professor Stuart Russell, a computer scientist who has lead research on artificial intelligence, fears humanity might be 'driving off a cliff' with the rapid development of AI. He fears the technology could too easily be exploited for use by the military in weapons, putting them under the control of AI systems.

Leading artificial intelligence pioneer Stuart Russell has compared artificial intelligence to the development of nuclear weapons. He particularly fears what will happen if AI is used in weapons and military systems. Films such as Terminator (pictured above) have given what some believe is a glimpse of what could happen He points towards the rapid development in AI capabilities by companies such as Boston Dynamics, which was recently acquired by Google, to develop autonomous robots for use by the military.

Don’t let AI take our jobs (or kill us): Stephen Hawking. Artificial intelligence (and robots are) a very real threat.

Google's DeepMind artificial intelligence unit uses a nightmarish vision of how computers see the world. In his tweet, Elon Musk  referred to the book 'Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies' (left), a work by Nick Bostrom that asks major questions about how humanity will cope with super-intelligent computers. AI is 'potentially more dangerous than nukes': Elon Musk.

Professor Russell, who is a researcher at the University of California in Berkeley and the Centre for the study of Existential Risk at Cambridge University, compared the development of AI to the work that was done to develop nuclear weapons.

Google has set up an ethics board to oversee its work in artificial intelligence. The search giant has recently bought several robotics companies, along with Deep Mind, a British firm creating software that tries to help computers think like humans. One of its founders warned artificial intelligence is 'number one risk for this century,' and believes it could play a part in human extinction. 'Eventually, I think human extinction will probably occur, and technology will likely play a part in this,' Deep Mind's Shane Legg said in a recent interview. Among all forms of technology that could wipe out the human species, he singled out artificial intelligence, or AI, as the 'number 1 risk for this century.'
The ethics board, revealed by web site The Information, is to ensure the projects are not abused. Neuroscientist Demis Hassabis, 37, founded DeepMind two years ago with the aim of trying to help computers think like humans. His views echo those of people like Elon Musk who have warned recently about the dangers of artificial intelligence. Professor Stephen Hawking also joined a group of leading experts to sign an open letter warning of the need for safeguards to ensure AI has a positive impact on mankind. In an interview with the journal Science for a special edition on Artificial Intelligence, he said: 'From the beginning, the primary interest in nuclear technology was the "inexhaustible supply of energy". 'The possibility of weapons was also obvious. I think there is a reasonable analogy between unlimited amounts of energy and unlimited amounts of intelligence. 'Both seem wonderful until one thinks of the possible risks. In neither case will anyone regulate the mathematics. 'The regulation of nuclear weapons deals with objects and materials, whereas with AI it will be a bewildering variety of software that we cannot yet describe. 'I'm not aware of any large movement calling for regulation either inside or outside AI, because we don't know how to write such regulation.' This week Science published a series of papers highlighting the progress that has been made in artificial intelligence recently. In one, researchers describe the pursuit of a computer that is able to make rational economic decisions away from humans while another outlines how machines are learning from 'big data'. Nuclear research was conducted with the aim of producing a new energy source, but scientists also knew that it could be used to create weapons of great power. Professor Russell warns AI could be put to similar use if researchers are not careful.

Autonomous robots like Boston Dynamics Big Dog particularly concerned Professor Russell Professor. Russell, however, cautions that this unchecked development of technology can be dangerous if the consequences are not fully explored and regulation put in place. He said: 'Here's what Leo Szilard wrote in 1939 after demonstrating a [nuclear] chain reaction: 'We switched everything off and went home. That night, there was very little doubt in my mind that the world was headed for grief.' 'To those who say, well, we may never get to human-level or superintelligent AI, I would reply: It's like driving straight toward a cliff and saying, 'Let's hope I run out of gas soon!' In April Professor Russell raised concerns at a United Nations meeting in Geneva over the dangers of putting military drones and weapons under the control of AI systems. He joins a growing number of experts who have warned that scenarios like those seen in films from Terminator, AI and 2001: A Space Odyssey are not beyond the realms of possibility. Elon Musk is one of the driving forces behind super-intelligent computers but last year, the Tesla founder warned that AI could do more harm than nuclear weapons. He said: 'The basic scenario is explicit or implicit value misalignment - AI systems [that are] given objectives that don't take into account all the elements that humans care about. 'The routes could be varied and complex—corporations seeking a supertechnological advantage, countries trying to build [AI systems] before their enemies, or a slow-boiled frog kind of evolution leading to dependency and enfeeblement not unlike EM Forster's The Machine Stops.' EM Forster's short story tells of a post-apocalyptic world where humanity lives underground and relies on a giant machine to survive, which then begins to malfunction. Professor Russell said computer scientsts needed to modify the goals of their research to ensure human values and objectives remain central to the development of AI technology. He said students needed to be trained to treat these objectives much in the same way 'as containment is central to the goals of fusion research'. In an editorial in Science Magazine, editors Jelena Stajic, Richard Stone, Gilbert Chin and Brad Wible, said: 'Triumphs in the field of AI are bringing to the fore questions that, until recently, seemed better left to science fiction than to science. 'How will we ensure that the rise of the machines is entirely under human control? And what will the world be like if truly intelligent computers come to coexist with humankind?'

Again Texas Leads The Way Back To Liberty...Creating A Gold-Backed Bank

Common Sense Commentary: As California is known as the U.S. Trend-setter in fashion, frivolity, high tech, high taxes, movies, gangs, state debt and bloated government, Texas is known as the Trend-setter in Liberty, independence, constitutional activism, individual responsibility, law enforcement and self reliance. The latest related development is the passage of and signing by our Governor of a bill establishing competition with the Federal Reserve Bank and bringing back to Texas from New York a billion dollars of Texas gold. What other state has that? RB

Texas Launches Gold-backed Bank, Challenging Federal Reserve

by  Alex Newman

Texas Launches Gold-backed Bank, Challenging Federal Reserve The State of Texas is setting up a gold-backed bank that will allow depositors to bypass the controversial Federal Reserve System and its fiat currency in banking and commerce, according to the state representative who authored the recently enacted law. Under the measure, passed overwhelmingly by lawmakers and signed in mid-June by Republican Governor Greg Abbott, Lone Star State officials will establish and operate the Texas Bullion Depository for anyone who would like to deposit and trade in precious metals. The implications are as big as Texas.

While some analysts have said the move may be another sign heralding Texas’ eventual secession from the union, or preparation for financial Armageddon, its advocates say the depository simply makes financial sense. Among other benefits, the institution will provide more options to consumers weary of the increasingly troubled traditional banking and monetary system, which is viewed by the public with growing suspicion. And experts say the effect of making it easier to use sound money in commerce could be far-reaching.

Among other immediate effects, the law creating the first state-level gold-backed bank in the nation, House Bill 483, will involve repatriating about $1 billion of Texas gold from New York. Conflicting news reports and official statements say the state’s precious metals stockpile is being held either by HSBC in New York, or by the powerful New York Federal Reserve Bank, a privately owned outfit cloaked in secrecy with immense power over the U.S. economy. First, though, officials will need to select a home for the Texas depository.

“Today I signed HB 483 to provide a secure facility for the State of Texas, state agencies and Texas citizens to store gold bullion and other precious metals,” said a statement issued by Governor Abbott, a popular conservative governor, after the ceremonial signing. “With the passage of this bill, the Texas Bullion Depository will become the first state-level facility of its kind in the nation, increasing the security and stability of our gold reserves and keeping taxpayer funds from leaving Texas to pay for fees to store gold in facilities outside our state.” The law protects the assets from seizure by the feds or other forces, too.

There will be many other benefits as well, according to supporters. While other states have in recent years passed legislation declaring gold and silver to be legal tender, analysts say Texas’ new depository could help supercharge the growing movement for an honest and sensible monetary system founded on real money rather than debt-based paper notes conjured into existence by a private banking cartel. Indeed, one of the chief aims of gold-and-silver-as-currency proponents is to restore sound money — and the Texas law could help pave the way.

Tenth Amendment Center chief Michael Boldin, whose organization promotes states’ rights to rein in the feds under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, called the law “an important first step towards gold and silver as commonly-used legal tender in the state.” He said the move has the potential to open the market to sound money, even in day-to-day transactions. “By making gold and silver available for regular, daily transactions by the general public, the new law has the potential for wide-reaching effect,” Boldin added.

The Tenth Amendment Center also highlighted the constitutional implications. Noting that Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution prohibits state governments from making anything other than gold and silver a tender in payment of debts, Boldin said the bill takes Texas a step toward fulfilling that long-ignored constitutional obligation. “Such a tactic would undermine the monopoly the Federal Reserve system by introducing competition into the monetary system,” he said.

Other experts also highlighted those effects. “Over time, as residents of the state use both Federal Reserve notes and silver and gold coins, the fact that the coins hold their value more than Federal Reserve notes do will lead to a ‘reverse Gresham’s Law’ effect, where good money (gold and silver coins) will drive out bad money (Federal Reserve notes),” explained constitutional-tender expert William Greene in a paper for the market-oriented Ludwig von Mises Institute.

“As this happens, a cascade of events can begin to occur, including the flow of real wealth toward the state’s treasury, an influx of banking business from outside of the state — as people in other states carry out their desire to bank with sound money — and an eventual outcry against the use of Federal Reserve notes for any transactions,” added Greene, who also testified in favor of the law in his capacity as a private citizen.

The new law can also help protect depositors from other downsides of the present monetary regime — the risks inherent in fractional-reserve banking, for example — while still providing many of the conveniences associated with a bank account. Indeed, the depository will engage in many of the functions associated with traditional banking: The ability to store wealth for safe-keeping, the ability to write checks against deposits to transfer funds, and so on.

But in other respects, the institution will function very differently from a traditional bank. For instance, depository accounts will not pay interest, according to the law, nor will the deposits be loaned out to borrowers under the prevailing fractional-reserve banking regime. In an interview on the popular TruNews radio program, the state lawmaker behind the law celebrated the way in which the institution will operate as a major benefit for potential clients.

“This is different than your traditional bank — a traditional bank lends money,” said Texas Representative Giovanni Capriglione, who authored and sponsored the legislation. “Especially if you're in Greece right now, you know that if you go to the bank, and everybody went to the bank to try to get their deposits out, there's not enough paper money to cover it. That causes a whole bunch of concerns. What this depository does is, it doesn't allow that — if there are 5,000 bars of gold in there, there will be 5,000 gold bars there, and you'll be able to access your deposits directly upon demand.”

Depositors will also be able to write checks against their gold deposits to pay others, continued Rep. Capriglione, calling the measure a “big deal.” “You can write checks to individuals who have gold depository accounts, and you’ll also be able to write checks to individuals and corporations who don’t have gold depository accounts,” he explained. “We set up a system of depository agents so you can have any corporation, any group, basically start a depository agent, and they can send and receive through this depository system, outside of the Federal Reserve System.” Public entities will also be able to participate.

It will not be just Texas citizens, governments, agencies, and businesses taking advantage of the new options, either. “We are not talking Fort Knox,” Capriglione told the Star-Telegram newspaper. “But when I first announced this, I got so many emails and phone calls from people literally all over the world who said they want to store their gold … in a Texas depository. People have this image of Texas as big and powerful … so for a lot of people, this is exactly where they would want to go with their gold.”

Some conservative and liberty-minded activists expressed concerns about the law because it creates yet another state agency. However, writing in the market-oriented Ludwig von Mises Institute, economist Ryan McMaken argued that the benefits outweigh the downsides in this case. “While the Texas depository is a government-owned enterprise, it nevertheless is an improvement since it is a case of decentralization (and arguably nullification) which provides alternatives to the federally controlled monetary and banking systems,” he said. “As Hayek and other Austrians noted for decades, a decentralization of the monetary system is a key first step in moving toward more sound money.”

The depository will be run by an administrator appointed by the Texas Comptroller, whose office will oversee the institution. The chief of the Texas depository will have to be approved by various state executive and legislative officials. Any profits made will be handed to the general revenue fund, potentially benefiting taxpayers beyond the savings associated with repatriating the state’s gold. The full text of the law is available here.

A similar bill was introduced in 2013 but did not gain traction. This year, though, lawmakers approved it by a landslide margin, with 140 to 4 in the Texas House and 27 to 4 in the state Senate. Now, energized activists in other states are hoping to see similar measures across the country — with the ultimate goal of eventually restoring sound money and an honest economy free from the clutches of the Federal Reserve.

The Time For Diplomacy Has Passed But Not Of Opportunity

Common Sense Commentary: Confession ... A few weeks ago I was waiting for breakfast at a motel restaurant in West Texas. Two local residents, also waiting, were discussing a major expansion of the city's small hospital. One of the two was saying, "Why that's a fifty million dollar project. Where is this little ole town going to get that much money. To this the other man answered, "From the damn taxpayers ... They got plenty a money or they wouldn't be paying taxes." To that the first guy responded, "You fat frog, you never held a job longer than the first paycheck and have been living off us "damn taxpayers" all your miserable life." The fat guy turned to his double order of eggs, bacon and pancakes. I made it a point to shake that taxpayer's hand as I left. It was calloused and worn ... and so was he. I said not a word to the slothful slob with the double order. I didn't have the heart for it. The time for diplomacy has passed with the midnight, but not a time of opportunity. A new day is dawning on a changed America ... and it may be the day Jesus puts his hand on the door knob of time. I should have given them both a gospel tract ... but I didn't ... and I haven't forgotten it. RB

Confederate Flag: Where Is The Sense In A National Uproar About A Constitutional Right ?

Common Sense Commentary: So there is a big squabble over flying the Confederate flag, even by individuals and even at old Confederate cemeteries.
The truth is that it is dumb for southern cities and states to still be flying it on public buildings when the Civil War was over when the last battle was fought at Palimito Ranch, Texas, on May 13, 1865. General Robert E. Lee had surrendered to General Grant a month earlier at Appomattox Courthouse, April 9, 1865. Texans always were a hard headed, no quit in em bunch, but when that war was over for General Lee and the entire South, Texas wasn't about to pull it out of the fire, though they tried. My great grandfather Blair's family, of Georgia, was involved in the war, as were all Georgians, in some capacity. They were undoubtedly loyal Confederates because my grandfather named my father Robert Lee Blair after General Robert E. Lee. That is a clue which cannot be denied. I was named with their initials R.L. or Rayburn Lee. So I too was named after my dad and General Lee. But even though my roots are southern and many consider me a rebel, I have never flown the Confederate Flag. That, to me, is defending a lost cause by folks who were not even there, had no part in it and remind me of football fans who have the illusion they are better quarterbacks than the one on the field of battle. As Shakespeare observed, "Me thinks thou doest protest too much".  Waving the Confederate flag screams rather than reasons. When I did such things, Mother warned, "Don't be so rambunctious". True Conservatives are more convincing when we debate with right and reason rather than screams, moans and waving of hands.

All of that said, flying a Confederate Flag, Texas Flag, White or Black Flag is protected by the constitution as freedom of speech.  It is more immature and unreasonable to yell and scream and curse a piece of cloth, or the person carrying it, than it is for him to carry it on a stick down the street, fly it on his truck or in a cemetery where Confederates, Texans, whites or blacks are buried. It is not a Constitutional right to take away someone else's freedom of speech simply because you are intolerant of those who disagree with you on this tiny offence of flying a piece of cloth which means nothing 236 years too late to matter.  If its dumb to fly it, its stupid to yell about it or violate someone's Constitutional rights to stop it.  Idiots! I said that in a whisper. RB

Texas County Clerk And Alabama Supreme Court Say No To The U.S. Supreme Court On Illegal Marriages

Common Sense Commentary: Christians and other moral Constitutionalists must support acts of courage and conviction such as the two examples below of individuals and centers of power standing up for moral and Constitutional laws in our country .... even if it is against the U.S. Supreme Court, the President or the Congress. If they are brave enough to stand up and speak out for God and country, we must be brave enough to stand with them.  If we don't, we are spineless cowards. RB

Gay marriage' ruling can’t mess with Texas clerk
From NE NewsNow

LEGAL-COURTS'

Despite the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling to legalize same-sex “marriage” from coast to coast, Irion County District Clerk Molly Criner is declaring her own decision to take a bold stand for natural marriage by refusing to issue marriage licenses to homosexual couples in the Lone Star State.

A Closer Look Criner made her take on the opinion of the five Supreme Court Justices quite clear.

“To keep my oath to uphold the Constitution, I must reject this ruling that I believe is lawless,” Criner stated when announcing her stance. “I have to stand for the Constitution and the rule of law.”

The clerk from central Texas argues that clerks across the nation should not feel compelled to support a lawless ruling — even if it comes from the highest court in the land.

“The Justices of the Supreme Court acted outside and against the authority granted to them by the very Constitution that we have sworn to uphold,” contends Criner, who has been offered legal representation over the matter by the Christian nonprofit legal group, Liberty Counsel.

Tipping the scales of justice?

Criner insists that the five SCOTUS Justices tipped the system of checks and balances that were set and balanced more than two centuries ago out of fear of future tyrannical rulings.

“[O]ur Founding Fathers were fearful of too much power in the hands of a few,” Criner explained. “Consequently, they created a Constitutional Republic in which authority to rule belonged to the PEOPLE, to be exercised through their elected representatives.“

The natural marriage supporter then made her case that those writing the majority opinion for same sex marriage in the Supreme Court clearly overstepped their authority.

“In that Constitution, the Supreme Court was given the authority to expound the law, not rewrite it or remake it,” the Texas clerk asserted. “Natural marriage cannot be redefined by government without stepping out of the bounds of nature and nature’s God, who was recognized at the founding of our nation as the very source of our liberties.”

Good judgment to overcome bad ruling?

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver points out that flawed SCOTUS decisions in the past have been rectified after proper legal analysis.

“The Supreme Court has historically made a number of bad rulings that time and justice have been able to realize and overcome,” Staver maintains.

Staver says that Americans standing for true justice should not succumb to a bad ruling, but join together and stand for the intended law of the land.

“The opinion of five lawyers regarding marriage is another example of an unjust law that will be overcome as people stand together, individually, and as States,” the pro-family leader continued.

The Virginia-based attorney adamantly urges citizens not to back down and submit to a ruling that he says defies the very principles that have guided America for centuries.

“Like Molly, each of us should vow not to be intimidated but, instead, to stand united for our God-given liberties and the Rule of Law,” Staver exhorted Americans across the country.

Will Alabama buck marriage rulin
From One News Now

A reaction to the Supreme Court ruling on homosexual "marriage" could forthcoming soon from the Alabama Supreme Court.

"[F]or those who believe in a government of laws, not of men, the majority's approach is deeply disheartening .... Five lawyers have closed the debate and enacted their own vision of marriage as a matter of constitutional law."

Excerpt from Liberty Counsel brief

Liberty Counsel has filed a reply brief with the Alabama court in response to the opinion issued by "five lawyers" on the U.S. Supreme Court. Founder Mat Staver tells OneNewsNow the brief asks the state court to recognize the ruling as only an opinion that isn't grounded in the Constitution, the constitutional precedence, or the rule of law.

"In fact there's precedent for state supreme courts not following bogus United States Supreme Court opinions," Staver explains. "The infamous Dred Scott decision, [which] said that blacks were not entitled to full citizenship, was not followed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court – and history pointed out that the Wisconsin Supreme Court was right and the Supreme Court was wrong."

Staver believes that's the same situation America faces today.

Liberty Counsel's 40-page brief submitted to Alabama also asks the state's high court to protect the religious liberty of its citizens because.

Staver "This opinion by five lawyers on marriage is already having catastrophic consequences against people of faith," the Christian attorney notes. "It starts off with the clerks or the probate judges or the magistrates with regards to the issuing of licenses, and it's spreading from there. And it certainly is in the jurisdiction of the Alabama Supreme Court to protect its citizens with respect to their precious religious liberty rights."

Staver suggests a decision from that court could come as early as within the next few days.

Polygamy, polyamory next?

Constitutional attorney Matt Barber says with the assault on natural marriage fueled by the high court's decision, Americans can expect an open season on marriage in legislatures and courts throughout the nation.

Barber, who is also the founder of Barbwire.com, points out that dissenting justices in the same-sex marriage case before the Supreme Court stated clearly that the ruling opens the door for other illegal forms of marriage to become legal.

"And by rolling out this notion of so-called 'gay marriage' and saying that it's a constitutional right, they must now necessarily allow any form of so-called 'marriage,'" he argues. "Polygamy is next. The polygamists are calling it 'marriage equality.' The polyamorists, you know two men marrying two women, communal marriages and so forth."

Barber, Matt (Liberty Counsel)Barber fully expects their advocates and activists to pressure lawmakers and the courts to legalize their definition of marriage, all stemming from the Supreme Court ruling.

"That was the whole purpose behind so-called 'marriage equality,'" Barber continues. "It was never that the homosexual activists wanted the white picket fence. It was that they wanted to burn down the white picket fence ...

"[They wanted to] water down the institution of marriage so that marriage is meaningless, and we will see that now with incestuous marriages and polygamist marriages as well as so-called same-sex marriages."

But the attorney stresses that God, not the Supreme Court, is the final authority on marriage; and that to Christians, marriage will always be between one man and one woman – and on that definition, he concludes, Christians must stand firm.

A Mystery...."Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD..." Isa.1:18

Common Sense Commentary: All the great truths of the universe are full of mystery.

If believing in a Creator is difficult for your mind to grasp, swallowing the theory of evolution is more like swallowing a monkey whole in one gulp. If all animals have some similar internal and external parts, it clearly reflects a single, common architect better than billions of jerks, jumps, and  morph changes of  evolution all boiling and bubbling through millions of years from zero, nothing, up to a Billy Graham or Albert Einstein. And if Creation is a mystery to you, at least it is a single step mystery from Eden's dust to Adam and the rest is history. Whereas, evolution is so indefinite, complex and impossible as to fit the description of Winston Churchill's summation of Communist Russia in 1939 when he said, "It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. If evolution were true it is so impossible that it would still require a Creator God to bring it off.

A "mystery" is a truth difficult to understand. The word mystery infers an unusual reality which requires objective study of all the related facts and possibilities.

Mysteries are common in the Christian faith. Even with Almighty God speaking the worlds into existence is a huge mystery. The Old Testament is full of mystery. The virgin birth of Christ is a mystery. His miracles are a mystery. Holy Communion is a mystery. Christ's resurrection is is mystery. His salvation of wicked sinners by grace through faith in Him is a huge mystery ....  "And he (Jesus) said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God...." Mark 4:11.

"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ." Eph.3:9.

Even evolutionists don't claim there were more than one thin line of humans being evolved through billions of changes over millions of years, from original specs of life up to apes and then humans. They agree on a single, original beginning with the "Bib Bang" and then with human evolution.  But if that happened only once, why not many times, millions of times. Why aren't there several totally different "kinds" of people with four legs or wings, scales, aqualungs or telescopic sight? All human beings are human beings, with the same parts. Why can't monkeys talk or invent something besides a twig to pull termites out of holes?

If evolution were true, how did this developing line of evolving apes, while changing ever so slowly, up through thousands of generations manage to survive disease, natural disasters, and avoid being eaten in a hungry Jurassic world? Especially considering the fact that the first millions of years of the evolutionary ladder would have been extremely narrow and near the bottom of the food chain.

Christian Mystery Verses:

Romans 11:25   For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Romans 16:25   Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

1 Corinthians 2:7   But we speak the wisdom of God in amysteryeven the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

1 Corinthians 15:51   Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Ephesians 1:9   Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

Ephesians 3:3   How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

Ephesians 3:4   Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

Ephesians 5:32   This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Ephesians 6:19   And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known themystery of the gospel,

Colossians 1:26   Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Colossians 1:27   To whom God would make known what isthe riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Colossians 2:2   That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Colossians 4:3   Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

2 Thessalonians 2:7   For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

1 Timothy 3:9   Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

1 Timothy 3:16   And without controversy great is themystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Detroit's Unions And Socialism Demands Destroyed Themselves And Their City ... As Did California

Common Sense Commentary: Detroit, known as "Motor City", is the Greece of America. And I do not mean Motor Oil but the ancient nation of freedom, and birthplace of free enterprise, the Olympics, soccer, money and civilization itself. The Greece that has become the opposite of it's former genius and self reliant history. The Greece that embraced socialism after WWII and became foolish and economically reckless as a welfare state. The Greece that has borrowed $billions from the European Union and other nations to pay it's Socialistic commitments... and kept borrowing to pay the repayments on those loans. They are now in a deep pit of unplayable debt and the EU wants them to pay up, and will lend them more money to pay payments on those previous loans lest Greece declare bankruptcy or align with Russia and China against the EU. They know if Greece falls, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland will be next. It's a mess similar to the one Detroit is now in and California is headed for rapidly. The Obama Government would bail Detroit out but that would set a precedent requiring them to bail out other bankrupt cities and states too ... including California. Socialistic welfare is like drug addiction; It is nearly impossible to quit and given time, destroys it's host every single time. Ironically the U.S. has more such debt than all other countries combined. We, as a nation, are on the same ruinous track as Detroit, California and Greece. So its "Good grief Detroit" and "Good night California". RB

Detroit, Murder City,Has Fewest Cops Patrolling Streets In Nearly 100 Years

DETROIT (WWJ /AP) – The Detroit Police Department is suffering from its worst manpower shortage in nearly a century.
There are currently fewer officers patrolling the city than at any time since the 1920s. At one point, the Detroit police force was over 5,000. Today, the force is just 1,590 officers strong — and not all of those are on the street.
The city has lost nearly half its patrol officers since 2000 and ranks have shrunk by 37 percent in the past three years alone, according to the Detroit News. It’s so bad that precincts are reportedly left with only one squad car at times.
“This is a crisis, and the dam is going to break,” Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, told the newspaper. “It’s a Catch-22: I know the city is broke, but we’re not going to be able to build up a tax base of residents and businesses until we can provide a safe environment for them.”
It’s important to note that the city’s population has fluctuated greatly over the years. Here’s a breakdown of data segments comparing the number of officers to Detroit residents, according to the report. The city’s current citizen-to-officer ratio is 448 to 1.
  • 1920: 897 officers — population of 993,678
  • 1930: 3,141 officers — population of 1,568,662
  • 1950: 3,548 officers — population of 1,849,568
  • 1970: 3,973 officers — population of 1,511,482
  • 1990: 3,312 officers — population of 1,027,974
  • 2000: 3,139 officers — population of 951,270
  • 2015: 1,590 officers — population of 719,777
.
Budget cuts have hit the department and some have left to work elsewhere.

And then there is California,
our nation's trendsetter...

One of the strangest phenomena among the masses of humanity is the inclination to mimic, by patterning, their own beliefs, actions, fashion, hair-dos and vocabulary after the very worst examples. The majority, it seems, are intrigued with the negative extreme. Gangsters, Motor Cycle Gangs, strange hair styles and clothing, Hollywood, European Socialism, and  Picasso's abstract type ugly art and abstract rap, hip hop and ugly music... and then there is California. RB

I  received this note, with a link about a dying California, from a friend ...

All of my life, the gospel of trends has been ... "Look at California if you want to know what the rest of America will look like in 10 years".  Well, take a peek at how well our first socialist state. with open borders. worked out. But we must keep pumping the precious water past America's
San Joaquin Valley bread basket ... to the fine citizens in Sodom,  Gomorrah, and Babel so they can splash around in the surf and enjoy their welfare checks.

Divine intervention from the heavens appears their only salvation ... Ooops, I forgot, they are a secular  Socialistic  state, guess they will stew in their own collective pot.  So read it and weep ...
"Good Night California"
