Let Your Little Light Shine...
God's word is the primary voice of truth. The Holy Spirit speaks that truth to the hearts, spirits, and minds of every human being. That light of truth is Jesus Christ ....
"That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
In spite of the fact that Jesus, the "light of life" came into the world to enlighten the lost souls of sinners, most still love darkness and their "evil deeds" more than the light of truth.
"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3:19
This is not only true of individual hu-mans but can spread across the land to include entire nations of people.
"Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward." Isa.1:4
The word "nation" in that verse is the Hebrew word "goi" and means a governed "corporate body" of people. In this case it was Israel; but the words apply to any nation, or person, who has "gone away backward" from the light God sent into the world to save them, Jesus Christ. So exactly what does "gone away backward" mean?
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isa. 5:20
There is a long list of such violations of God's word and truth in general ... even in the United States which has been known as a "Christian nation" for over 200 years. I call it a "wicked miracle".
