The Continual Obituary Of Democracies

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."  "The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:  From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage." Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in  St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:  Number of States won by:         Obama: 19               Romney: 29 Square miles of land won by:    Obama: 580,000      Romney: 2,427,000 Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million  Romney: 143 million Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:                                               Obama: 13.2             Romney: 2.1 Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.. If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to the twenty million criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

The Verse You Have Never Heard Of The Star Spangled Banner

Common Sense Commentary: It was sung by a retired Marine, at a Tea Party gathering. He wanted to illustrate what America has left out of the education and training of our young people. This video testifies to four facts. 1. America has blindly allowed at least half of the "glorious" principles, upon which this country was built, to be abandoned.  2. Our Star Spangled Banner, Old Glory, has been stripped of that old glory and most Americans have no idea what its "old glory" even is. 3. What Is An EMP (Electronic Magnetic Pulse) And How Would It Play Out In America?

Common Sense Commentary: There is a very pertinent adage which observes this word of wisdom.

"It is far better to prepare yourself for what doesn't happen than not to prepare yourself for what does."

One of the things which will definitely happen, in your future, is a Katrina Hurricane, Electrical Failure, Tornado, Holocaust, Terrorist Attack on our infrastructure, an Electric Magnetic Pulse power grid failure or something yet unknown. Though all these things have happened before, for some mysterious reason 95% of people are not prepared when they do happen. The odds of something like the above happening to you, in your lifetime, are too great not to be physically prepared for at least a few days of no electricity.

Don't panic, but every one of you needs to see this National Geographic depiction of dozens of amateur  cell phone and smart phone reporting on the horrors of a ten day American electric grid failure and blackout. This one didn't really happen, but something similar has never been more likely than now, in the US. There are a dozen scenarios which could make this a reality.

Another Courageous, American, Female Patriot Speaks Out Against Tyranny

Common Sense Commentary: Our inclination is to assume we need a real, loyal, masculine, patriotic, man to arise from the masses who can take the leadership of our faltering nation and restore our Constitution and our freedoms.  It is hard to miss the fact that more and more women are stepping forward and speaking out against the growing tyranny of this dictatorial President. It reminds me of another moment when the Nation of Israel had been taken over by a wicked tyrant. God raised up a woman, to lead the nation, who was the best man in Israel. Her name was Deborah and she was the Judge of Israel at that moment in history.

The Architect of Destruction By Maureen Scott  Barack Obama appears to be a tormented man filled with resentment, anger, and disdain for anyone of an opinion or view other than his. He acts in the most hateful, spiteful, malevolent, vindictive ways in order to manipulate and maintain power and control over others. Perhaps, because, as a child, he grew up harboring an abiding bitterness toward the U.S. that was instilled in him by his family and mentors…it seems to have never left him. It is not the color of his skin that is a problem in America .. Rather it is the blackness that fills his soul and the hollowness in his heart where there should be abiding pride and love for this country. Think: Have we ever heard Obama speak lovingly of the U.S. or its people, with deep appreciation and genuine respect for our history, our customs, our sufferings and our blessings? Has he ever revealed that, like most patriotic Americans, he gets "goose bumps" when a band plays "The Star Spangled Banner," (no.he gets goose bumps when he hears the '''Muslim call to prayer"""(his words)))))or sheds a tear when he hears a beautiful rendition of " America the Beautiful?" Does his heart burst with pride when millions of American flags wave on a National holiday - or someone plays "taps" on a trumpet? Has he ever shared the admiration of the military, as we as lovers of those who keep us free, feel when soldiers march by? It is doubtful because Obama did not grow up sharing our experiences or our values. He did not sit at the knee of a Grandfather or Uncle who showed us his medals and told us about the bravery of his fellow troops as they tramped through foreign lands to keep us free. He didn't have grandparents who told stories of suffering and then coming to America , penniless, and the opportunities they had for building a business and life for their children.                               Away from this country as a young child, Obama didn't delight in being part of America and its greatness. He wasn't singing our patriotic songs in kindergarten, or standing on the roadside for a holiday parade and eating a hot dog, or lighting sparklers around a campfire on July 4th as fireworks exploded over head, or placing flags on the grave sites of fallen and beloved American heroes. Rather he was separated from all of these experiences and doesn't really understand us and what it means to be an American. He is void of the basic emotions that most feel regarding this country and insensitive to the instinctive pride we have in our national heritage. His opinions were formed by those who either envied us or wanted him to devalue the United States and the traditions and patriotism that unites us. He has never given a speech that is filled with calm, reassuring, complimentary, heartfelt statements about all the people in the U.S. Or one that inspires us to be better and grateful and proud that in a short time our country became a leader, and a protector of many. Quite the contrary, his speeches always degenerate into mocking, ridiculing tirades as he faults our achievements as well as any critics or opposition for the sake of a laugh, or to bolster his ego. He uses his Office to threaten and create fear while demeaning and degrading any American who opposes his policies and actions. A secure leader, who has noble self-esteem and not false confidence, refrains from showing such dread of critics and displaying a cocky, haughty attitude. Mostly, his time seems to be spent causing dissension, unrest, and anxiety among the people of America, rather than uniting us (even though he was presented to us as the "Great Uniter"). He creates chaos for the sake of keeping people separated, envious, aggrieved and ready to argue. Under his leadership Americans have been kept on edge, rather than in a state of comfort and security. He incites people to be aggressive toward, and disrespectful of, those of differing opinions. And through such behaviour, Obama has lowered the standards for self-control and mature restraint to the level of street-fighting gangs, when he should be raising the bar for people to strive toward becoming more considerate, tolerant, self-disciplined, self-sustaining, and self-assured. Not a day goes by that he is not attempting to defy our laws, remove our rights, over-ride established procedures, install controversial appointees, enact divisive mandates, and assert a dictatorial form of power.     · Never has there been a leader of this great land who used such tactics to harm and hurt the people and this country.      · Never have we had a President who spoke with a caustic, evil tongue against the citizenry rather than present himself as a soothing, calming and trustworthy force.      · Never, in this country, have we experienced how much stress one man can cause a nation of people - on a daily basis! Obama has promoted the degeneration of peace, civility, and quality of cooperation between us. He thrives on tearing us down, rather than building us up. To Whom Does The Land Of Israel Belong?

Common Sense Commentary: I love it when an honest man baits his hook, casts it into the water and gives a lying opponent plenty of line before he sets his hook and reels in the liar like a helpless fish for the world to see.

TO WHOM DOES THE LAND OF ISRAEL BELONG?

An Israeli sense of humor at the United Nations set the record straight.

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile.

The representative from Israel began: "Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses: When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, "What a good opportunity to have a bath!"

Moses removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them!

The Palestinian representative at the UN jumped up furiously and shouted "What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then."

The Israeli representative smiled and said "And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech."

Living On Borrowed Time Ain't Just For Old Folks

Common Sense Commentary: Read the tombstones... There are all ages out there in the cemetery.

We are all on God's "Time Debit". We have no free time we own ... guaranteed. "Our times are in His hand." Psm.31:15.  When God is ready for you, He doesn't have to look for a way to cancel you out, delete you, shut you down or call you home ... He has all the ways. He owns the air we breath and our ability to breath it. We are all on God's "Life Support System". All He has to do is remove His hand and you are dead, whatever the pathologist says is the cause.  Breathing is God's art official respiration.

I am neither happy nor unhappy with my old age. It is what it is ... old. Some call it "elderly"... That's nice. Others say, "Senior Citizen" ... a kind way of saying "old". I'm a realist who wants the facts. My body is not 83 1/2 years young but 83 1/2 years old. If that ain't old ... what is?  Its my brain that's young. I told a young man the other day I was nearer 70 than 60. He guessed 69. I told him he was not even close.

Old age is inconvenient but not yet terminal ... and still better than that alternative. It is often frustrating when you feel young in your mind but can't remember where you left your glasses, or car keys, or car. Every old person has stood in a large parking lot ... looking in all directions for their car ... certain someone has stolen it. Just keep walking in large circles, pressing the emergency alarm on your car key ... You will find it. I can't hear half of what is said and often lose my thought or vocabulary ... or can't walk after sitting awhile. Old age ain't for sissies, but nobody ever said I was one of those.

Actually, I wouldn't want to be young again. Old age has many benefits as well as liabilities. Lust, for anything, other than rest and patience, is pretty well gone. My mistakes seldom affect anyone but me any more. That's a relief.  When I realize I may have a lot of suffering to endure in the near future ... and will soon even die, I still wouldn't trade me for a newer model. Neither would I trade my problems and regrets for anyone else's and I have never wanted to be someone else. I have met and counseled too many people, in my life, who wanted to trade lives with someone who "looked" happy or rich or famous. I wouldn't even like to live my own life over again so I could correct mistakes, sins, actions or words. I probably wouldn't do any better the second time anyway.

I can honestly say, I enjoy life as much now as ever before... but in a different way. The really good things in life mean much more to me and the bad things have no appeal whatever. I have striven for that all my life. Why would I now give it up?

I can't say with the Apostle Paul, "I have a desire to depart...." He was obviously much more spiritual than I. I want to live as long as God wants me to ... and not a minute longer. I don't want to suffer the pangs of death, but that is His department, not mine.

So, you young and middle aged people, don't worry about getting old. It really isn't all that bad ... compared to that other alternative ... or even having to endure the follies of youth ... again. The worst thing I can think of is to live to be much over 100. But I don't know... I've never been there... Maybe I will like it.

Whatever age you are, concentrate on loving God, loving your family, the souls of people, loving life, good friends, the success of others, a sunrise or sunset, rain, rest, little children, old dogs and a good laugh. Practice it while you are young so it becomes who you are. Gravestones have "en-graved" on them all ages ... from infants to centenarians.  RB

How Is This Worse Than That ?

Common Sense Commentary: There are far more scriptural references to the sins of the lips and tongue than there are of all the other sins put together. think about that for a moment. Verify it for yourself ... if you doubt it. Who received the harshest rebuke of Jesus ...thieves, harlots, cursers, alcoholics or self-righteous religious hypocrites?

How is it worse for a non-Christian man to give his lips and lungs to tobacco... than for a Christian to give their lips and lungs to gossiping and condemnation of that lost man? What do you expect an unsaved person to do anyway ... act like a Christian?  "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man." Matt.15:11.


How is it worse for a Christian who does not tithe or attend every service at their church ... than for a Christian, who does both, to critically gossip about their fellow church members who do neither?  "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven..." Luke 6:37. 

How is it worse for a young girl to wear shorts in public than it is for a Christian woman, who is 180 pounds overweight, wearing tent sized clothes, to critically gossip about that young girl?  "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women ...." Titus 
2:3-4

How is it worse for me to ask such questions than it is for you to judge me critically for asking?

Roman Emperor Nero-bama Fiddled While Rome Burned

Common Sense Commentary: Mr. Obama is an absentee president. He is mentally, emotionally and physically absent from his office ... where the buck is supposed to stop, as Harry Truman said.

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." Ecc.1:9. 

Hamas is viciously attacking.  Israel is desperately defending.  Russia is invading.  The Middle East is smoldering.  Boko Haram is massacring.  ISIS is marching.  Iran and North Korea are threatening.  American cities are crumbling.  Our electric grid is an antiquated patchwork. Our southern border is dissolving.  Our debt is skyrocketing.  Americans are hurting.  Our enemies are laughing. Affordable Heallthcare is a failing farce.  Obama is fundraising, playing golf and vacationing.... He knows not how to fiddle.

But don’t be too hard on our President, it is his first real job.

Common Sense Commentary: The new combined Islamist movement, ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq/Syria) is succeeding where several other Islamic movements have failed. They are a united Islamic force which is drawing Muslims from other terrorist organizations in the Middle East and around the world. The true nature of Islam is exploding from under the "peaceful Islam" cloak which the Liberal News Media, Politicians and Muslims in Europe, Africa and America have claimed. Officialdom's "Blind as a bat" footsie games with Islam in America and Europe is so out of touch with reality that they are beginning to appear as Muslim sympathizers rather than just stupid. It is now obvious that the Obama Administration has only pretended to be fair and balanced as their actions relate to Israel and Islam. They have supported Islam, behind the trasparent scenes all along at the world's expense.... especially Israel and America. Leader: ISIS is ‘Systematically Beheading Children' in 'Christian Genocide'

"Christianity in Mosul is dead, and a Christian holocaust is in our midst," said Mark Arabo, a Californian businessman and Chaldean-American leader. In an interview with CNN's Jonathan Mann, he called what's happening in Iraq a "Christian genocide" and said "children are being beheaded, mothers are being raped and killed, and fathers are being hung."

"Right now, three thousand Christians are in Iraq fleeing to neighboring cities," he told Mann. Arabo is calling on the international community to follow France's lead and offer the Christians of Iraq asylum.

"You're startling me with the severity of what you're describing," the CNN host said. "You said they are --- beheading children?"

"They are systematically beheading children," Arabo repeated slowly. "And mothers and fathers. The world hasn't seen an evil like this for generations."

"There's actually a park in Mosul where they actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick... this is crimes against humanity. They are doing the most horrendous, the most heart-breaking crimes that you can think of."

UPDATE: Arabo isn't the only one going public with horror stories of the atrocities being committed. An Iraqi member of Parliament and a Syrian Orthodox Archbishop have also broadcast tales of "genocide."

Mann asked about the ISIS letter sent to Christians in Mosul, demanding that they either convert to Islam, pay a fine or be put to "death by the sword."

"It's very clear they are killing people, but are Christians managing to escape by paying a fine?" he asked.

Arabo reports that after Christians pay the fine, the fighters take the Christian wives and children "and make them their wives - so it's really convert, or die."

This is a tweet that reportedly shows Yazidi children who escaped the fighters by fleeing to the mountains, but have died from lack of food and water there:

A quick scan of Youtube shows the truth of what Arabo is saying - there are gruesome videos of heads on spikes, and many of live beheadings (one poor Christian is forced to say the Shahada 'there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet' and then beheaded anyway.)

Warning: don't google these things unless you have a strong stomach.

"They are absolutely killing every Christian they see," Arabo said of ISIS. "This is absolutely a genocide in every sense of the word. They want everyone to convert, and they want sharia law to be the law of the land."

How Can A 6 Yr. Old Walk Alone For 2000+ Miles Through Desert, Mountains And Danger?

Common Sense Commentary:  We are told, by the News Media, that hundreds of the young children are showing up at the Texas/Mexico border ... are from Central America, south of Mexico. The nearest Central American border to Texas is Guatemala at the southern tip of Mexico. How did those hundreds of little children manage that journey on their own? 

Much of the following I copied from an unknown author. I corrected distances and text. RB

Imagine you are a 3 year old (Border Patrol is changing diapers) to 8 year old child.  You are on your own without adults.  You are asked to walk from San Diego, Calif. to Mississippi across desert, mountains and danger.  Could you do it? How long would it take you as a 6 year old? That is
the minimum distance these poor, helpless little children have supposedly walked from the nearest point of Central America to the border of Texas - again, on their own.  And they didn't get lost. And they survived the journey without help (unless you buy in to the notion that a destitute, out-of-work family living in squalor somehow came up with $8,000 to $10,000 for EACH child to pay a coyote to take them to the border of Texas).

It is 2000 miles across the length of Mexico itself. Add to that the distance to their homes in Guatemala or Honduras. How is that possible? It isn't.

2000 + miles across desert, mountains and danger. How many days would it take for a 6 year old to walk 2000 miles without help, directions, food, sun protection, etc.? And all these hundreds of children coming at the same time ....

I don't think the truth is being given to us, folks.

Someone created and assisted this, and the media should be figuring out who it is. That is their job!
