Eventually The Joy Of Stuff Becomes A Burden (A Christmas Message)

Way, Way, Way Too Much Stuff ...

Yes, there is such a thing as "Too Much Stuff".

"For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much." Ex.36:7

We are not defined by how much stuff we can accumulate. The best things in life are free.

"...regard notyour stuff; for the good of all the land ... is yours." Gen.45:20

All thieves, con-men, burglars, embezzlers, hi-jackers, and forgers, are simply after more stuff.   "...they ... have also stolen ... and they have put it even among their own stuff. Josh.7:11

Many hoarders and wealthy folks are hiding their true, insecure selves behind a facade of stuff to confirm their personal value   "... he hath hid himself among the stuff." 1 Sam.10:22

Some stuff is necessary in peace and in war. Some of that stuff is valuable. All valuable stuff is not necessary, but it still requires the presence of armed guards. Fully one third of General David's armed forces were not in the battle. Their job was standing by the stuff back behind the battle lines. Too much stuff requires too many guards, alert systems, high tech surveillance, watch dogs and insurance.     "And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword ... and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff." 1 Sam.25:13

When Jesus comes, don't bother with trying to save your stuff.

"In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away...." Lk.17:31

Young married couples spend a debt fortune on "catch up stuff", their wedding  pictures and professional photos by the album full, financed house with all the furnishing, and kitchen conveniences. They start their lives together deep in educational debt, home mortgage debt,  two car loan debts, and several maxed credit card debts. All this stuff which they lusted after at first, soon becomes like a dead Albatross around their necks. So they give up and break up. But they finally manage to struggle their way through it, with a second or third spouse, and someone else's children to educate. They no longer need much of the stuff they divided between themselves and their previous spouses, but as they get old, their new lusts seem reasonable...by middle age..."Status" stuff like too large a custom home, big boat, travel trailer, motorcycles, and the ski slopes of Colorado. But even that grows old to them and finally they awaken in older old age with the extra large home and garage chock full of stored up old junk, and yesterday's dust covered stuff. They have an equal amount of dusty memories and dusty experience which only now stirs up a tinge of shinny new common sense. But, alas, a new problem which all old people awaken to. All this memorabilia stuff, all this once seemingly indispensable stuff has morphed into a gigantic trap to which they are chained and are too old and too weak to extricate themselves from moldy old, tarnished, worn and well stuffed stuff. But that's only half the problem. Now, with limited energy, they can't begin to maintain the large house full of outdated, and mostly never used, stuff. They can't keep the once beautiful lawn and flower beds. They are prisoners to a mountain of stuff ... way way way too much stuff.

My final Christmas word to all our friends and family ... please be merciful to Bettie and me. We are too old to handle any more stuff. We are already buried under your generous gifts, birthday, anniversary, Christmas and love gifts. We have not a single shelf, counter top, closet, drawer, refrigerator, freezer, garage or barn empty space left. All future gifts will be placed in the front yard with a "For Sale" sign. It was fun while it lasted but gifts are now a burden ...so give it to Jesus; after all its His birthday. Bettie and I, in our late 80's, are now in the "get rid of it" mode and Jesus doesn't want it either.  Just give us love and patience, and if we have something you want ... please come and get it.

Remain In No Church Whose Mission Is To Control Your Actions And Life

Your God Given Free Will Is Yours To Decide

The church's calling is to reach you, teach you, love you and pray for you, not to control you. That is your heart's choice to obey or disobey the Spirit of God. Your faith, salvation and commitment to God must be your own, between you and God. There is no church, religion, Pope, Preacher or wall of any kind between you and God. He who is convinced against his will is of the same opinion still. Your spirituality, or lack of it, is yours alone. Whether it be good or bad, real or pretended, it is between you and God. Your faithfulness to God cannot be justly demanded or commanded by someone else, preacher, parent, friend or foe. The Pope may declare someone to be a "saint", but doing so, he defrauds what is God's jurisdiction not his. Others may force your outward actions or words to be acceptable to them or their clique, but not your heart, which they cannot see. That change must be done by example, prayer, and loving instruction in the Holy Scriptures. If the heart isn't changed, outward appearance means nothing but subjection or deception.

We are all answerable to God, not anyone else, for our soul's condition, our faith, salvation and commitment. One may be accountable to someone else, parent, spouse, employer or to the law. Or, their own accountability to God may require them to instruct or discipline of you, but it is you who will give an account to God for your private thoughts and feelings.   "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." Rom.14:12.

You have as much right to approach God the Father, in Jesus' name, as Billy Graham or any other person ... and are expected to, by Him.
Yes, your church or pastor may be forced, for the preservation of the Church's good name, and accountability to God, to discipline you, but what you do is your choice and your responsibility, not theirs. And if you are a member of a church or have a pastor who thinks they are appointed by God to control your actions or life, leave that cult and find a real church. But... don't swing to the other extreme and join a "church" where anything goes and nothing is sin.

The key priority in this life is to sincerely love God with our whole self. When that is true, you will judge and prune your own life for Christ's sake and for your love of God, and your own spiritual health and testimony. But it must be your own free choice.

"Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." Matt.22:36-38.

What Admiral Nimitz Saw In Pearl Harbor 77 Years Ago This Month...was Not Defeat

It Was A Huge Japanese Mistake

The following true story came to me from my friend, Dr. James Nicholson, whom we of the Chosin Few know as BARman, a fellow survivor of the Battle Of Chosin Reservoir, in North Korea, back in 1950.
The "BAR" Doc. carried was a "light" machine gun weighing about 20 lb. and turned thousands of Communist Chinese soldiers into frozen corpses at Chosin.

As you read this, ask yourself who today fits the description of a Chester Nimitz. Who would have his inspired, perceptive understanding who could lead America against today's enemies ... if we were again under such a devastating attack by a powerful force? All of today's hi tech weapons and scientific advancement has not produced such men as Admiral Nimitz. RB

Admiral Nimitz Takes Command Of
The Pacific Fleet In Dec. Of 1941

Tour boats ferry people out to the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii every thirty minutes. We just missed a ferry and had to wait thirty minutes. I went into a small gift shop to kill time.

In the gift shop, I purchased a small book entitled, "Reflections on Pearl Harbor" by Admiral Chester Nimitz.

Sunday, December 7th, 1941--Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a concert in Washington D.C. He was paged and told there was a phone call for him. When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the phone. He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz) would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet.

Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet. He landed at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941. There was such a spirit of despair, dejection and defeat--you would have thought the Japanese had already won the war. On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the waters everywhere you looked.

As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat asked, "Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this destruction?" Admiral Nimitz's reply shocked everyone within the sound of his voice.

Admiral Nimitz said, "The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could ever make, or God was taking care of America . Which do you think it was?"

Shocked and surprised, the young helmsman asked, "What do mean by saying the Japanese made the three biggest mistakes an attack force ever made?" Nimitz explained:

Mistake number one: The Japanese attacked on Sunday morning. Nine out of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave. If those same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk--we would have lost 38,000 men instead of 3,800.

Mistake number two: When the Japanese saw all those battleships lined in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships. If they had destroyed our dry docks, we would have had to tow every one of those ships to America to be repaired. As it is now, the ships are in shallow water and can be raised. One tug can pull them over to the dry docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could have towed them to America . And I already have crews  ashore anxious to man those ships.

Mistake number three: Every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war is in top of the ground storage tanks five miles away over that hill. One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our fuel supply. That's why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could make   or   God was taking care of America. I've never forgotten what I read in that little book. It is still an inspiration as I reflect upon it. In jest, I might suggest that because Admiral Nimitz was a Texan, born and raised in Fredericksburg , Texas -- he was a born optimist. But any way you look at it--Admiral Nimitz was able to see a silver lining in a situation and circumstance where everyone else saw only despair and defeatism.

President Roosevelt had chosen the right man for the right job. We desperately needed a leader that could see silver linings in the midst of the clouds of dejection, despair and defeat. There is a reason that our national motto is, IN GOD WE TRUST.

So why have we forgotten?

PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY! In God we trust

Why Democrats Grind Their Teeth At Hearing "America First"

Yes, the Left Wing Elite and their Politicians grind their teeth when they hear the President say, un-apologetically,  "America First". But what is the President of a nation supposed to do, fight equally for the interests of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea?  Do you put all the wives, husbands and children in your town on an equal treatment plain with your own. If you say yes, you and lying. Our President's primary responsibility is the security, safety, and equal treatment of AMERICA FIRST in every arena of our U.S Constitutional guarantees. Then, if he has any time or energy left, he can encourage and or admonish other national leaders to follow his example and "Put their own nation first in all their own dealings". Other nations are not our President's or our Congress's business. The reason Democrats do not like the concept of "America First", is that it is contradictory to their fantasy of One World Without Borders Globalism with its pipe dream of equal law, equal food, equal income, equal medical treatment, equal housing, equal education and equal everything for every human on earth.  That "sounds good" to Liberal Socialist "children in adult bodies", but it has never worked and has brought ruin and poverty to all who tried it ... equally.  Even China, Russia and Cuba are slowly turning away from Communism. RB

From The White House:

‘We don’t apologize for America anymore’

President Trump promised to make honoring our veterans one of the top priorities of his Administration. Part of that promise means restoring American patriotism. “We don’t apologize for America anymore. We stand up for America,” the President told the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention yesterday in Missouri.
“And we stand up for our National Anthem,” the President said to a thundering ovation.
__________________________________________
The above proves that the vast majority of veterans and working, tax paying citizens in America support the Constitution, which was built on Biblical principals by our Christian majority forefathers. They worshiped God and were led by His Holy Spirit in framing that unequaled  Freedom Instrument of Law and Order. It created a nation and atmosphere conducive to personal responsibility, freedom to worship, freedom to speak, freedom to prosper, freedom to witness of your faith, and freedom to live without government or other people's interference.  That being true, it is cautiously appropriate to reckon ... To hell with  false religions which carry people there, to hell with false worship of money, power, education, athletics, movie stars,  cars, houses, and even your nation, or any other thing of thought besides Jehovah God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. RB

Trump Has Punctured That OneWorldOpenBordersHotAirBalloon Thing In Tijuana

The First Step To One World Governing Is "No Borders"

Love him or hate him, President Trump is keeping his promise to Make America Great Again by draining the Left-Wing swamp, plowing it up and replanting our U.S. heritage. Thus far his policies at home and abroad are shooting holes in this Left-Wing free pass for insanity.

President Trump Has Given The New World Order Balloon A Puncture That Is Spreading Worldwide

This from Renewed.com

The American people elected Donald Trump to shake things up and put America first.
Global elites were horrified.
And now Donald Trump gave the new world order the nasty surprise they were dreading (some nation might do.RB)
Donald Trump won the election on a promise to stop the flow of mass migration into America.
Trump kept his word by pulling out of the United Nations pact on migration in December 2017.
The U.N. pact created a standardized system of mass migration and open borders across the globe.
Defenders of the “liberal world order” howled in protest.
But now more countries are joining the United States in pulling out of this globalist scheme to erode borders and create a one world system of mass migration.
Breitbart reports:
Australia, Israel, and Poland are among the latest to pull out, all citing national interest reasons.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morris remarked Wednesday that the agreement is “inconsistent” with his nation’s best interest, and that the document “fails to adequately distinguish between people who enter Australia illegally and those who come to Australia the right way”, noting the frequent observation that the paper does not differentiate between legal and illegal migration.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also alluded to the document’s ambiguity on illegal migrants, saying Tuesday that: “We are committed to guarding our borders against illegal migrants. This is what we have done, and this is what we will continue to do,” reports the Jerusalem Post.
Switzerland is now postponing a decision on signing the deal, and the nation’s parliament will debate the issue in the coming weeks.
Globalism is not popular. People want countries with clearly defined and secure borders.
The fake news media in America claims Trump isolated America on the world stage, but the opposite is true. Other countries are following his lead.                                                _______________________
If you are Conservative, but don't like Trump... Support his policies and his administration which is trying to save this nation. They may not succeed but they didn't make the mess. RB

Keys To Worthy, Lasting Accomplishments Though Attended By Troubles And Trials

Every Christian has a calling and God has the power, the blueprints, the helpers, the equipment and the finances to enable you to accomplish it.

Keys To Unlocking Your Calling

1. Set worthwhile, honorable and reasonable goals:   Apostle Paul's goal was to apprehend the prize of the high calling of God ...
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Phil.3:13-14.

2. Cultivate a deep commitment to God and to the task He calls you to do:   The most important prerequisite to reaching your goals is to delight yourself in the LORD on the journey there.   "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psm.37:4

3. Expect only little by little fractional gains:   That is how God delivered His promise of a home-land to His people Israel. As He told them in Deut.7:22 ...    "And the Lord thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once ...."   Solid accomplishment toward goals progresses in baby steps, not all at once. That was the primary lesson I tried to teach our young hikers on the Appalachian Trail. I called it "The secret of the baby step".

4. Exercise patience in your slow progress and yield to God's timing:   The Apostle Paul's missionary journey to Rome, came, as a prisoner in chains. Even then it was a slow, constantly hindered and even perilous passage. But God's purpose and Paul's maturing patience was all part of God's plan in the accomplishment of Paul's incessant prayers that he might witness of Christ to the Romans.

He took the Gospel to Rome and to Caesar's household, as a prisoner, but at Rome's expense.
"And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy .... And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia .... we touched at Sidon. And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary. And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone; And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens ...." Acts 27:1-8.

5. Nurture your endurance through the obstacles & set-backs.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

6. Express your thankfulness to helpers and to God.
The Apostle Paul had planned this trip to Rome and wrote his friends, the Christians, in that distant city of his thankfulness for them, their faith, and their financial support of him. But he gave the glory to God. His voyage there was a long and dangerous one but he arrived safely... all at the expense of Caesar.

"To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the  world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you."  Romans 1:7-10.
Paul reached his goal, accomplished God's calling ... and the world hasn't been the same since. You too have a calling. RB

Ma's Survival Recipes That Kept The "Work Skinny" Pioneers Alive

Today we complain if the Super Market doesn't have our favorite brand of something... but they have 100,000 other items.  Nobody eats fat today for fear of getting even more overweight or cholesterol in our veins. At 88 I can remember when men ate a slice of fat with every bite of steak, didn't get fat and didn't die of clogged veins. They worked 10-12 hours a day... or more... were soaked in sweat dawn to dark, were wiry thin and tough as tails. Every job was long and hard except that fat banker's.  In those days if a man didn't give his chair to a standing woman, cursed in front of women or children, wouldn't work or keep his word, or wouldn't stand for our passing flag or national anthem, he wouldn't last long in that town. In the summer of 1946, at 16, I was harvesting wheat 13-14 hours a day, bathing in ice water under a windmill, and sleeping in a barn from Happy, Texas to Hastings, Nebraska.  I thumbed my way between jobs and rode in the back of a cattle truck with what the cows left there, in a long haul ambulance with a dead man in the back, with a drunk in Oklahoma and worst of all with a pervert in Kansas.  Those wheat farmer women were the best cooks in the world and their husbands the best men in the world.  There I go, chasing 70 to 80 year old rabbits again ... Here are a few 170-180 year old pioneer, survival recipes ... RB

From Self Reliance Newsletter

The pioneers’ recipes were not ones that came from being able to shop at a large grocery store, where you can buy virtually anything.

Their recipes – or “receipts” as they were called back then — were born out of necessity, having one pot and one skillet plus the need to use ALL of the leftovers from previous meals.

You see, when they set out in a wagon to cross the seemingly endless prairie, it was decision time. They had to decide what they were going to take with them and what they were going to leave behind.

They had to take all the tools to build a log cabin. They had to take all the hardware, as well, to build their cabin. They had to take nails, hinges, screws, wire and everything else. There was nowhere to just stop and buy it.

So, the wagon was packed to the brim. Every square inch was accounted for, and then some.

Many had one or two cast iron pots and one or two skillets or frying pans — and that was it.

The recipes that were their favorites were ones that fed everyone and were easy to make even if you were short a couple of different ingredients each time you made it.

Most of the time, they were cooking over an open flame. So, things that had gravy or liquids such as soups and stews were a favorite. The reason: the heat of open flame cooking is unpredictable. You had to be sure you didn’t burn the food. Oils were scarce. So, liquids, soups, and gravies were far more tolerant of erratic heat sources, and they burned a lot less.

Ready to learn how to look like the pioneers? Here are a few of their favorite recipes that you can make in your cabin or modern-day homestead:

(Do remember, these recipes were their optimal recipe. Most of the time they were lacking one or more ingredients and therefore had to substitute or leave it out.)

1. Creamy Chicken Soup

4 pounds of chicken (can be made with three pounds if need be).
3 quarts of creek or well-temperature water (room temperature is fine if you’re in a modern home).
1 tablespoon salt.
6 peppercorns (or 1/4 teaspoon of black or white pepper).
1 medium onion finely chopped.
2 cups whole milk (can be substituted with cream).
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of butter (not needed if using cream).
2 eggs beaten well. Cut the cleaned, deboned chicken into bite-sized pieces.

4 Survival Recipes That Kept The Pioneers Alive On Their Westward TrekPut your chicken and the bones into your pot with your water and salt. Bring it to a boil and then slow boil it until the chicken is tender.

Remove the chicken bones and use them for bone meal, dog food, compost and other uses.

Add in your peppercorns and onions. Let it slow boil for 10 minutes.

Put your milk or cream and cornstarch into another pot or skillet. Let it come to a slow boil and stir until it’s nice and thick. Add your butter if you’re using it, and season it to taste with whatever you have (that’s really how they did it).

Slowly add your well-beaten eggs into the milk and cornstarch. Stir until mixed and smooth.

Pour the cornstarch mixture into the soup kettle and stir until it’s well-mixed. Then, stir and cook for two more minutes and serve.

2. Fat Pork and Mormon Gravy

The settlers very often made what’s called Mormon gravy, named after Mormon missionaries who made it as a staple.

It’s simple and yes, it’s a heart attack waiting to happen. But, man, oh man, does it taste good.

8-10 thick slices of fatty pork or thick-cut bacon strips.
6 tablespoons of meat drippings.
4 tablespoons of flour.
2 cups of whole milk. Salt and pepper. Cook your meat in a cast iron (preferably) frying pan until crisp on both sides.

Measure out your six tablespoons of drippings from the drippings in the pan, and pour the rest in your drippings saver container for other foods later.

With your measured drippings, stir in your flour and milk, and keep stirring until it’s thick and smooth.

Serve your meat with the gravy poured over it or over the top of biscuits or bread.

3. English Whirligig

This was traditionally made with black currents. However, it can be made with nearly any tart berries or even fruit such as cranberries or sour apples.

2/3 cup of honey.
2 tablespoons of flour.
1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
1/2 teaspoon of grated nutmeg.
1/2 teaspoon of salt.
1 cup of hot water.
3 cups of black currants (you may substitute other tart berries or fruits). Add your honey, flour, spices and your salt into your hot water. Stir until they are all well dissolved. Then cook this mixture until thick. Be sure to stir often.

Put your currents in a frying pan and cover it with the thick mixture. Cook it on a rack above the coals for 20 minutes.

Let cool so that it is nice and firm. Then dish it up.

4 Survival Recipes That Kept The Pioneers Alive On Their Westward Trek the pioneers would sometimes make a topping for this of whipped cream if it was a birthday or holiday. However, most of the time they ate it as described above.

4. Potato Pancakes

There are a number of recipes around for these. But this is the true settlers/pioneers recipe as it was brought over by a settler from Austria who became rather famous for them in what would later become Kansas City, Missouri.

6 large potatoes.
2 teaspoons salt.
3/4 cups of whole milk.
2 eggs.
1 cup of flour. Lard that has been pre-strained of any pieces. If you want them with the skins on the potatoes as most pioneers ate them, then wash them and grate them to a medium-sized shredding. If you want them skinless, peel them and grate them.

Mix them with your salt, eggs, milk, and flour.

Spoon the mix into the hot lard in a frying pan. They will flatten out by themselves. If not, flatten them a bit.

Fry until they are golden brown on both sides.

Final Thoughts

Much of the time, the pioneers didn’t have the luxury of eating what they wanted when they wanted it. They ate what they had.

If a family had a ton of blackberries nearby, then they would have several blackberry recipes they would use all the time. The same would go with any food that was plentiful, whether it was deer, carrots or cherries.

Each of the above recipes were favorites that the pioneers brought over with them from their old countries. They had to adapt them to what was available. But, they stayed as true to them as possible.

Why Are Left-Wingers So Fake Fearful Of Historic, Normal Weather Variation?

The Global Warming Hoax was not dreamed up by the gullible,
misinformed rank and file of Socialist minded voters of the world,
but by the United Nations. It was then embraced by Left-Wing political leaders and New World Order fanatics, like Al Gore, who know better, but have ulterior motives. Their real motive is not securing the health of the globe and preservation of the human race but in transferring the wealth of productive nations to unproductive ones to accomplish the Socialist dream of world equality.
Their false theory is that productive nations are causing Global Warming and unproductive nations are suffering from it. Their plan is to penalize the producers by forcing them to pay for "Carbon Credits", which will raise $trillions, and giving that money to the unproductive nations who can then catch up their lower standard of living. Their goal is to equalize the living standards of everyone on earth and a One World Government/Law. The truth is that this plot will bring everyone on earth to the same level of poverty. They first called this "false" science "Global Warming" until world temperatures fluctuated back to cooler 15-20 years ago. So they switched the name to "Climate Change". This makes them right whether the weather gets as hot as the Sahara or as cold as Siberia. RB

Climate Change Alarmism Is ‘Garbage In, Garbage Out,’ Retired NASA Physicist Says

HOUSTON—Unvalidated climate models that don’t correspond with physical data and the requirements of the scientific method contribute to unfounded climate alarmism, a retired NASA physicist said at the Heartland Institute’s recent America First Energy Conference.
Since America’s national security depends in part on energy security, unsubstantiated claims about global warming that prevent policymakers from making “rational decisions” with regard to the development of U.S. energy resources have become a national security threat, said Hal Doiron, a 16-year NASA veteran.
The “propaganda” underpinning climate alarmism is “causing tremendous political bottlenecks” that prevent government officials from “doing the right thing” on energy, he said.
Doiron, who helped develop the Apollo Lunar Module’s landing dynamics software during NASA’s moon missions, also expressed concern that the U.S. military has been directly affected by climate alarmist claims separated from sound science.
He criticized the Navy for “preparing for something that is unreasonable and would cost too much money” in the form of “extreme sea-level rise,” which has not been borne out by rigorous scientific study.
Doiron defines unvalidated climate models as those that do not agree with physical data. Public policy and military planning should be based only on models validated by physical data, he said.
“At NASA, we have a policy: You can’t make a design decision on a spacecraft or rocket that is not validated,” he said. “You don’t make critical decisions based on ‘garbage in, garbage out.’ Yet our government has been doing that with respect to climate alarm, because too many academics in universities are writing papers, drawing conclusions from models that don’t agree with physical data.”
Doiron is part of a group called “The Right Climate Stuff,” which includes engineers and scientists from across generations who have taken part in NASA’s most high-profile missions dating back to Apollo.
The group has produced its own “rigorous, earth surface temperature model using conservation-of-energy principles” that operates similarly to the way the surface and internal temperature of a spacecraft is analyzed, the Right Climate Stuff team explains on its website.
The reports produced from the analysis provide more “realistic projections” of the rise in the earth’s surface temperature over the next 150 years that show severe anti-fossil fuel regulations are not justified, Doiron and other former NASA team members contend.
“The scientific method requires that your hypothesis and theories be confirmed by physical data,” he said. “Computer models are not physical data, although I think many in academia don’t understand that.”
When unvalidated models are compared with validated models based on physical evidence, the validated models predict much less global warming, Doiron said. Moreover, the fact that unvalidated models often don’t agree with each other should be a “big, red flag.”
The retired NASA physicist is calling for U.S. policymakers to establish official data on two key metrics; specifically, “the true sensitivity of surface temperature to greenhouse gases” and a “reasonable projection of greenhouse emissions and [the] concentrations rise in our atmosphere.”
Doiron and his team have developed “a new metric” called “transient climate sensitivity,” which measures how much warming can be seen with a doubling of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the “way that it’s actually happening,” based on a “very small amount of [carbon dioxide] each year.”
That’s something that can be measured and verified against available physical data, he said. But because policymakers, including military planners, are not operating from reasonable projections, they are not in a position to adequately plan for the future, Doiron cautioned.
Another way climate change alarmism has worked to undermine America’s national security standing is by consuming too much of the military budget at the expense of military readiness, a top naval commander said during the panel discussion.
Adm. Thomas Hayward, who retired from the Navy as chief of naval operations and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff after serving as commander of the 7th Fleet and commander in chief of the Pacific Fleet, also addressed the Heartland Institute’s energy conference and sounded concerns.
For the past six to eight years, Hayward said, climate change has been given “a higher priority” than the readiness of the Navy’s fleet. During that time, the Defense Department has spent $100 billion on “just climate change,” while the Navy has spent “$58 billion chasing what is called the ‘green fleet.’”
That means many Navy vessels are using biofuels, but Hayward wonders how many ports around the world are equipped to accommodate Navy vessels that rely on a high percentage of biofuels, and he worries how that would work in a combat situation.
This report has been modified to state correctly how much Hayward said the Defense Department has spent on climate change.

Ole Al is enlisting Hollywood pretenders and entertainers to lend legitimacy to his Global Warming, Carbon Credits Trading Scheme.  He first called it Global Warming, and then he renamed it Climate Change to cover his bases. And sure enough it did "change" ... again.  His witch doctor predictions of eternal heat reversed back to cooler.... again.  Its called Natural Weather Variations  and has been alternating from hot to warmer to cooler to colder and back to hotter for at least 6000 years.
Some scientists believe we will see global cooling sooner than global warming. I believe we will see both in their own turn, as God sees fit.

Are there benefits of Carbon Dioxide? The "Best Answer" to that, from Yahoo Answers, is...
Carbon Dioxide is a NECESSARY element for photosynthesis to occur.
All plants need to photosynthesize to survive and produce food, particularly glucose. Carbon Dioxide, CO2, is used by plants along with water, H2O, during photosynthesis to create Glucose, which is C6H12O6, a type of sugar.
Sugars such as glucose are essential for providing food for all of Earth's plants and animals.
In short, plants need carbon dioxide to survive, and animals (including you!) need plants to survive.
Photosynthesizing plants is the start of the flow of energy through all of Earth's food chains. Carbon Dioxide is crucial to this process.                                                                                            _______________________________________
Here, on the ground, people seem so important and predominant from a point bank view, standing next to each other talking about our universe, our earth and our high level of technology.  But looking down from an airplane, just two miles up, we are so small we can't even be seen. The only thing that makes us important in this universe is our creation "in the image and likeness" of God. Discounting  that is to make us totally insignificant in comparison with everything else in the infinite universe. We assume ourselves to be so intelligent and powerful when we send a tiny camera and spider shaped little machine to Mars, but on God's scale, it is a speck of dust in a universal dust storm. What I am saying is that a brain the size of a cantaloupe is, on a universal dimension, incapable of affecting it, or even the physical earth, to any great extent. We can affect ourselves, those people and things around us but our loudest shout and biggest bang, a nuclear bomb cannot be heard or seen from the moon, our closest neighbor.  Men might become capable of destroying all the people and cities on earth, but from the moon the earth would still look the same. God will one day obliterate it, but men never will ... not with carbon which makes green things grow.

An Old Pastor Whose Fingers Are His Voice, His Pulpit A Keyboard

The heart's prayer and bible message of the elderly, Bible preacher, for a world which is rapidly passing him by ... speeding in the opposite direction of the Bible, the Cross and of heaven, but is hardly noticed by the masses of humanity. They are "the world" of John 3:16. They represent hundreds of religions, thousands of churches, millions of adherents, and billions of other eternity bound souls. And, there, feebly standing by the side of that busy, broad way to destruction, the old preacher beckons the oblivious passers-by to turn into the narrow way, which he represents and points to its entrance, which leads to eternal life... But few there be who notice the old man or hear his message ... as he offers the invitation of Jesus to those on that broad way with a dead-end ...     "Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." Rev. 3:8

So the old preacher turns his heart to heaven and prays to his God who is always listening ... and watching ...   "Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth... when I am old and grey headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to everyone ... Psm. 71: 8-9, 18.

In some strange way, old age is a more receptive asset to faith and hope and the promises of the unseen God of the universe. I would not trade it for youth. RB
