Scriptural Signs Of A Fool

Common Sense Commentary: I am not a judge but a student of God's word and a preacher it. God will judge us all, but His word also identifies and judges sin, righteousness and folly. The signs of a fool are plain to see, in Scripture.

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise." Prov.12:15.

"A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent." Prov.15:5.  "father", here, is with a small "f" not capitalized.... not God.

"Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly." Prov.16:22.

"He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool." Prov.10:18

"A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident." Prov.14:16.

"A fool's lips enter into contention...." Prov.18:6

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psm.14:1. Doesn't always say it out loud or in public. It's in his heart.

 

The bottom line and lesson from these verses is....

"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him." Prov.26:4.
