"The Last Conservative Democrat?" Not Quite

Common Sense Commentary: Zell Miller, a former Marine, served as Governor of Georgia and then in the U.S. Senate until his retirement in 2005. He is said to be the last Conservative in the Democrat Party, but I would have to "moderate" that claim. He was more accurately a "Moderate Conservative." There have been no Senate Conservatives in the Democrat Party since Senator Sam Nunn who was almost a true Conservative until his retirement 20 years ago. Even "Moderate" is a misnomer when applied to the Democrat Party. In truth and in fact, it is The Liberal Socialist Party. One more half-step to the left and it will be the Communist Party. RB
