Solely, Wholly By God's Grace

Yes, innocent little children with fresh open face,
Say what they think, no fear of disgrace...

Then when they are teens in jeans or fine lace,
Give vent with text talk through cyber space ....

Finally as adults in this long fleshly chase,
They are running their lives out to win first place,

And in their pursuit give in and embrace,
Every sort of dark sin and sweet fleshly taste.

Thus God's created likeness is driven to deface
His image upon us we mar and erase.

His love and mercy we abuse and debase,
Of fleshly merit there is... not even a trace.

So the more you see of this ruined human race,
The more you know salvation is by grace.
