With Increased Speed, Latter Times Prophecy Unfolds

Israel News recently reported that Rabbi Mendal Kessin, who, "Interprets modern events from a Torah perspective", lectures that President Trump's actions and his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capitol, are bringing the world closer to the coming of Messiah. He also believes that the U.N. is the Biblical "Gog and Magog" because of its constant anti-Israel position, and that "Gog" is the prophetic name of the enemies of Israel.

Be that as it may. True it may be; it is simply his interpretation of prophecy. But this we know, that neither Obama nor Trump could possibly have been elected if God had not allowed it. Both were political miracles, which just could not happen in this country. Obama, as a despotic King Nebuchadnezer, for the apparent disciplinary chastisement upon our spiritually declining nation ... And Trump as a worldly, pagan, King Cyrus or King Darius to defend God's people against their other pagan enemies, and to restore their Temple and freedom to worship. Trump seems to be the worldly but impressed "friend" of Israel and of Christians. Obama certainly was not. But both became President for God's own will and purposes, not for their righteousness. That does not mean God approved of the moral or immoral character or worldview of either of them, any more than He approved that of Kings Nebuchadnezer, Cyrus or Darius. But God raises up kings and puts down kings for His own divine will in His dealing with Satan, with nations, with the Jews, with Christians, and with all the world's people. World conflicts and politics often get out of the control of men but nothing ever gets out of the control of God. No ruler who ever reigned got there except that God allowed it to fulfill His own perfect will ... positive or negative.

"...He removeth kings, and setteth up kings ..." Dan.2:21.

"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." Prov.21:1.

"By me kings reign ..." He said, in Prov.8:15.

Neither President Trump nor Priminister Benjamine Netanyahu are kings, but they are the rulers of free nations and serve their nations as a type of king. Both these men have developed a timely inclination to spiritual things which is very obviously affecting their decisions and actions. Trump has moved decidedly close to evangelical Christians, and Israel. He created a committee of Christian pastors who advise him on religious and spiritual matters. Which, I believe, motivated his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's Capitol. From what I am reading, Netanyahu regularly attends a study of Biblical prophecy, in Israel, and Trump is listening to Christian.
At a speech at the Auschwitz death camp in 2009, for example, Netanyahu declared that the prophecies of Ezekiel 37 — the dry bones of the Jewish people coming back together miraculously to form the State of Israel — had come to pass in his lifetime.
Netanyahu also alluded, in a speech, to the Biblical prophecies of a Persian king named “Cyrus” who would rise up one day and set the Jewish people free from captivity.
“The Jewish people’s odyssey through time has taught us two things: Never give up hope, always remain vigilant. Hope charts the future. Vigilance protects it,” Netanyahu said. “Today our hope for the future is challenged by a nuclear-armed Iran that seeks our destruction. But I want you to know, that wasn’t always the case. Some 2,500 years ago the great Persian king Cyrus ended the Babylonian exile of the Jewish people. He issued a famous edict in which he proclaimed the right of the Jews to return to the land of Israel and rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. That’s a Persian decree. And thus began a historic friendship between the Jews and the Persians that lasted until modern times.”
Also when Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed an annual gathering of world leaders at the UN General Assembly, He warned the international community of the growing threat of militant Islam. The prime minister issued a warning of the increasing visibility and violence wrought by Islamist terrorists across the world.
Then the prime minister quoted the ancient Biblical words of the prophet Isaiah, who “taught us nearly 3,000 years ago in Jerusalem to speak truth to power:”   “For the sake of Zion, I will not be silent. For the sake of Jerusalem, I will not be still. Until her justice shines bright, and her salvation glows like a flaming torch.”
In the final analysis, it matters not that God uses both believers, unbelievers, and doubters in the fulfilling of His perfect will and the deliverance of His chosen nation, Israel and His New Testament Christians. Most important to us is that we recognize His ever-present hand in the affairs of men and give Him the glory for our deliverance in whatever way He chooses to accomplish it. RB
