Common Sense Commentary: "Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." Jesus said it in Lk.1:78-79. "And he said.... thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace." Lk.7:50.
Life is different when, by the tender mercy of our God, the dayspring visits a person's heart and brings light into their soul, raises them up from where they sit in the darkness of the shadow of death ; then leads them out into the way of His peace.
Only then can we "go in peace". RB
