Facts, Like Boulders, Are Stubborn Things In The Fast Lane Of Passion

And dangerous to ignore in a free nation
Facts of Evidence must trump passion.

'Stubborn Things,' and the Chauvin Trial

By William Sullivan  From American Thinker

Consider two contrasting quotes on how reason and passion relate to truth in a society.

The first is (or once was, anyway) quite famous amongst Americans, spoken by Founder John Adams during his defense of the British soldiers accused of murder in the Boston Massacre of 1770:

Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be the dictates of ... passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.

The second is from a figure of whom few alive could claim ignorance.  As Jonah Goldberg relates in his bookLiberal Fascism:

[Adolf] Hitler mocked those who believed that arguments and reason should trump the naked power of the people. When four renowned economists sent Hitler a letter disputing his socialist schemes, Hitler responded, “Where are your storm troopers?  Go on the street, go into folk meetings, and try to see your standpoint through. Then we’ll see who’s right -- we or you.” [Emphasis added]

Here are represented two arguments -- one for, and one against, the practical and moral supremacy of a society where truth and justice is informed by reason and evidence rather than the passions of a mob.

In his life, John Adams knew the weight of his actions in defending the British soldiers whom his community wanted nothing more than to see hanged.  In Adams’ appraisal of the evidence, the British soldiers were not murderers, but were acting in defense against a violent Bostonian mob.  There was an immediate propaganda war which  ensued for several months, with a British commission’s report titled “A Fair Account of the Late Unhappy Disturbance in Boston in New England,” and a Boston committee (with aid of Adams’ famous cousin, Samuel) providing an official account that branded the event for the quarter-millennium that followed, “A Short Narrative of the Horrid Massacre in Boston.”

Adams earned no love, at the time, from his community for taking up the cause of the hated soldiers’ defense in the trial that occurred several months later.  But he heroically committed to the task, anyway.  He successfully petitioned the judge to host the trial in a different venue, believing, probably correctly, that the impartiality of a local jury ruling upon the guilt of British soldiers who’d killed Bostonians would be compromised.

Adams later referred to this choice to successfully defend the soldiers as “one of the best Pieces of Service I ever rendered my Country. Judgment of Death against those Soldiers would have been as foul a Stain upon this Country as the Executions of the Quakers or Witches, anciently.”

When it comes to an individual’s guilt or innocence, when his life hangs in the balance, it is better that facts and evidence should inform our reason, Adams argued, even when the evidence leads to judgements which may not satisfy our collective passions.

That’s one vision of what justice in America is meant to be, and it’s an idea that is clearly enumerated in the Constitution.  What we’re seeing today around the Chauvin trial appears to be the other -- that the passions and naked power of the people, as represented by loud populist rhetoric and violent mobs, should be the true arbiters of truth and justice.

Today, we all know that it’s virtually impossible for Derek Chauvin to receive a fair trial in Minneapolis.  But we are holding the trial in a city that is held by the mob anyway.

And we all know that the de facto storm troopers promoting the BLM cause will set the city alight if the trial doesn’t produce a judgement that Chauvin is guilty of having murdered George Floyd.  As the Daily Wire reports, model and BLM activist Maya Echols told the world in a now-removed video, “if George Floyd’s murderer is not sentenced, just know that all hell is gonna break loose. Don’t be surprised when buildings are on fire. Just sayin’.”

More prominent activists in the news media, like Christine Emba at the Washington Post, also desire to see Derek Chauvin punished, and openly admit that they’re not interested in the facts or evidence of the trial.  Emba says that this could have been that “moment of national catharsis” that politicians and pundits “begged for” after the political riots of last summer that left many dead, countless injured, and $2 billion in property damage (read: terrorism).  Instead, it’s “a mere background to more of the same.”  “More of the same,” she implies here, is the institutional protection of a racist white police officer.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters has now brazenly admitted that, regardless of the facts being introduced and weighed in the balances of our justice system right now in Minneapolis, she is “looking for a guilty verdict.”  And if she doesn’t get a “verdict that will say guilty, guilty, guilty,” then she says that activists “got to get more active” and “more confrontational” in the streets to “make sure that they know we mean business.”

Celebrities, the media, and politicians are openly proclaiming that they are not interested in facts or evidence, only the retribution that they passionately seek.  All this is predicated upon the suggestion that the Chauvin trial serves as America’s reckoning, and the supposedly racist Chauvin is to be sacrificed as a stand-in for a supposedly racist America and its supposedly racist police infrastructure.

It requires repeating that the incident in question had nothing to do with racism.  No one has been able to produce a single convincing piece of evidence to suggest that Chauvin’s actions were motivated by Floyd’s race.  But this is not the point.

There were those in 1770 who wanted to make the Boston Massacre trial a referendum on the British policy of quartering soldiers in colonial homes.  But Adams heroically ensured that the trial was about the guilt or innocence of those individuals for the crime of murder, refusing to allow them to be punished as stand-ins for the British government’s policies.

Derek Chauvin should be tried for the crime of which he is accused, not as a stand-in for the mob’s presumption of America’s racism in policing.  And unlike Christine Emba, many Americans have been watching the trial, and have paid attention to the evidence.  Reasonable doubt appears to have been presented, and, “if the verdict were based solely on legal merits,” writes Andrew Branca at Legal Insurrection, there is “more than enough reasonable doubt to be unable to vote guilty.”

Ultimately, though, this is up to a jury of Chauvin’s peers to decide, and Branca suggests that the “political and social dynamics” may be enough to “drive this train clear off the rails.”

So, the question is -- can the facts be “stubborn things” in America when witnesses who support Chauvin’s defense have pigs’ heads and blood slathered on their former homes as a threat, or when legions of anti-American BLM and Antifa storm troopers stand ready to attack innocent Americans and burn down the jurors’ city, and countless other American cities, if the mob doesn’t get the lynching it desires?  More importantly, if we no longer live in a country where facts can be “stubborn things,” and where the passions of a violent mob have supplanted facts and evidence, in what kind of country do we now live?

We may need to brace ourselves and be prepared to speak loudly in defense of facts and evidence, and in favor of reason over passion, because are likely about to discover the answer to both those questions.

It's hard to be TRULY poor in America. You have to work at it

But it's easier than ever to be envious ...

With all the USA welfare and Government subsidies, poverty in America is mostly a result of drug addiction, alcohol addiction, divorce, fatherless families, laziness and legitimate handicaps, not inequality or racism.

Here is a comment on "Income Inequality" by an online friend....  which I have adjusted and added scripture to. RB

The trope about "income inequality" in America, is a nothingburger.  Literally.  Poor people historically didn't eat much meat, but had gardens and ate vegetables.  They lived in huts. They only had one or two changes of clothes.  They smelled bad, and couldn't afford lawyers. They all worked hard and were mostly laborers and sharecropers.  Rich people had horses and carriages, and fancy clothes, so you could tell they were rich.  They had doctors to bleed them when they got sick (true). They feasted on marbled (fat) beef , fried foods, and most overate on sweets. And, they had lawyers to defend them in court. They bathed once or twice a month. The men wore big hats and  boots, and the women wore big hats and bustle dresses.

Today rich and poor alike eat hamburgers and pizza. They both shower a few times a week--with soap, yet, and most use deodorant!  Both wear jeans.  They both have cars, cell phones, refrigerators, A/C, more than 4 or 5 sets of clothes, and washing machines.  They both have TVs and free school for their children and even school meals. The poor even have free lawyers, medical care, welfare and food stamps (cards), which the rich do not have.

True, the rich eat more lobster and drink more expensive wine, but the same beer and sodas. They often have fancier cars. Very rich people have airplanes and boats--stupid toys that cost a lot and don't get used much.  They have multiple homes--but use them one at a time.  Bill Gates tells us he lives in 3 or 4 rooms of his 30 room home.  Rich people do a lot of things I don't want to do anyway. And  sometimes they work very hard and often lose their money too.

It's hard to be truly poor in America.  You have to work at it.  But . . . it's easier than ever to be envious.  Especially of what the rich have, but don't really need that you want but don't need either. Riches usually cause more harm than good.

That's why Jesus said,        "Be content with your wages." Lk.3:14

"And, having food and raiment, let us be therewith content." 1 Tim.6:8.

"But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts ... lie not against the truth.... For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work." James 3:14&16

The verse,     "The love of money is the root of all evil"      is addressed to rich and poor alike. Percentage wise, there are more poor people loving and seeking after more money than rich people. A net worth of $464,100, considered wealthy, puts one in the top 10% of the world's population. There is as much "love of money" in the remaining 90% as there is in the top 10%. Loving it and having it are two different things.

So let us avoid envy and be thankful for what we have ... and we will enjoy more happiness and true love than wealth could ever buy. RB

"And be content with such things as ye have: for HE hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." Heb.13:5.

There is no commendation in wealth or condemnation in poverty. RB

How Can We Sinners On The Bottom Deal With Those On The Top?

Who Are Destroying America?

Where there is no swift, systematic, extensive, and honest oversight of Banks, Governments, and all enterprises handling money, there will be treachery because a contingent of vipers and thieves will always be present in every such organization .... even in churches. It has happened in businesses with only two partners and no other employees.  Such discoveries are most often kept quiet, and the thieves simply fired, to avoid a public relations problem.  In other cases, there were so many officials and employees involved that the enterprise could not continue to function by the exposure of the guilty personnel.

If a person is a liar, they are also a thief.  It is like two sides of the same coin. The common denominator is "dishonest".  And it seems that nearly everybody has, from a small pebble of dishonesty to a mammoth bolder, of fraud or deceit or greed or simple exaggeration.
The whole truth is that none of us is perfect or without fault. The difference in us in not, "who is a sinner, but who loves God?". God
says we are all sinners and have "come short" of godly perfection (Rom.3:23).  Coming up short of a thing is relative. "Short" can be an inch short or a thousand miles or a million miles short. So how, then, can we trust anyone?  It depends on what you are trusting them with.  There are very few people I would trust to take care of my 88 year old wife. Her children and a few grandchildren are about the extent of the list. How many people would I trust with my soul?  None! My eternal soul is in the care of the only absolutely safe place in the universe .... Jehovah God and Jesus Christ.  When it comes to money, everyone is forced to trust, to some degree, in a bank, broker, a company stock, or some sort of bond. After 90 years of life and 70 years of experience in financial dealings, my "degree" of trust, in these business people, whom I do not know, is about as far as I can throw them.  Only the overhanging force of the US Constitution, fines, and fear of a Law suite, and jail time, keeps most of them smiley face honest .... and sincerely looking after my interests. As President Reagan said .... "Trust but verify".

So, how can I trust any of these sinners?  Sin comes in degrees. You have a sin degree of a serial killer like Hitler or Stalin, who murdered millions on one end of the scale and exaggerating the truth about why you are fat on the other end. I can work with low degree sinners and shoot to kill the Charles Manson degree. Since nobody is perfect, we all fit on that scale somewhere, as sinners. But we have to accept each other, love others, and not suspect everyone around us who are usually about the same degree of imperfection as we are. We have to band together with all the other low degree sinners, who, without Christ, would go to the same hell with the high degree graduates.

In these last days, we who are doing our very best to follow Christ, step by step, must unite against those who are following Satan, after, of course we have given them the Gospel and prayed for them. As a pastor, if I picked church members as I pick lumber, with no knots, splinters or discoloration, nobody would qualify, including me. So unite against the Devil and his minions who cheat, lie, steal, and hate people who they say hate people, especially their leaders in public office.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph.6:12

Here is how a hero of mine dealt with certain rulers of darkness:

"Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank, and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out, and by the Eternal,(bringing his fist down on the table) I will rout you out!".

Men Have Been Scheming Since Adam/Eve Took Evil Advice And Cain Killed Able

It is History Now!

Today George Soros, Biden, Kamala Harris, Pelosi, Maxine Waters and Hollywood, the media, and Wall Street are pimping advice for the Kingdom of Darkness and half of America is buying into their lies and hate stock. It is much like Adam and Eve bought into Satan's false narrative and their misguided son, Cain, was convinced God was a racist, partial to his brother, Abel. So he killed his brother out of jealousy, bad information and hatred.

While that same, long playing, stage production has repeated itself thousands of times, around the world, shrewd speculators have done due diligence and invested their resources and lives in the works of men, false narratives, treasures, bonds, and stock markets.  Some have won in their investments and more often, lost, as it is in Las Vegas. RB

An example case along the way is History Now

“The shrewder speculators* became alarmed. They began to sell their shares of stock, and hoard in gold the enormous wealth they had acquired. This resulted in a demand on the government for metal in exchange for its paper, and soon the government had no metal to give. Then the crash came. Those who had the government paper could buy nothing with it. Those who held the Mississippi stock could scarce give it away. It was worthless. The government itself refused to accept its own paper for taxes. A few lucky speculators had made vast fortunes; but thousands of families, especially among the wealthier classes, were ruined.”

The Christian's Power To Accomplish Great Things

Three things which came into my mind today:

A New Hope Prayer for America's FATE.
Something I learned way too LATE.
The Righteous Relationship with Power to CREATE.

A New Hope Prayer for America's FATE: "LORD strike, in the pivotal place of evil, in America's government, and turn it from our wrong to your right and give your people revival."

Something I learned way too LATE:  There is always a price to be paid, a sacrifice to be made, or other important things delayed ... so that time may be found to sow the seed of good memories in a child's life.  In my case, God took my place and sowed His seed in that open space and bridged the gap for me.

A Righteous Relationship with POWER to CREATE:

God did not say to Noah, "I will make you an Ark": He said, "Make yourself an Ark" Gen. 6:14.  Then God proceeded to tell Noah exactly how to accomplish the making of it.  God still calls upon His people to use their heads and hands to create, to make things happen and gives us the power and leadership to accomplish great things. He even gives us the power to choose to reject or to receive Him to become His children .... or not.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."  John 1:12.

Then He commissioned us to physically, personally make more disciples...

"...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15.

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you...." Matt.28:20

Then, He told them He would give them the necessary power to accomplish that huge and difficult command.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me  .... unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  Acts 1:8

So the Christian's power to accomplish is the Spirit of Christ, in us, who does great things through us when we are yielded to Him ...

9

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  Rom.8:9-11.

What could be more powerful than God IN us?

Light And Lucid Words Are Never So Bright As In Deepest Darkness

One burns your eyes, the other your ears. Both are found in the presence of God....

"When I thought to know
this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou castedst them down into destruction." Psm. 7316-18.

Let us cease to describe the evil ones destroying America by using only their synonyms such as  "The Left", Left-Wingers, Liberals, Socialists Progressives, Communists, advocates of abortion, open borders, same sex marriage, taxing half of population to support the other half, and free everything for illegal aliens.  Let us homogenize all those descriptive terms into a single defining title, so we know who they are.  If you list all those terms like a math problem, of simple addition, draw a bottom line and add them up in a single common denominator word, that word would be "Democrat".  Ahh, but now I have crossed the Democrat Media's line of anathema for which there is no forgiveness... but deserving only of ridicule and a barrage of false accusation.

Jesus described their unspiritual affliction in Matt.13:15

"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

Writer, debater, John Nolte says it clearly:
Rural Trump Voters Already Live in the Safe, Tolerant Utopia Leftists Claim to Want

If I had to boil down the political wisdom I've learned over four decades of observing, studying, writing, and debating, it would be this…

Life in Rural America (which is where Republican Trump voters live and govern), is clean, safe and racially tolerant. Most places in America where life is dirty, polluted, dangerous, violent, and plagued with racial hate and race riots, are cities that are almost exclusively populated by and governed by Democrats.

Outside of these Democrat-run cities, America is peaceful, safe, clean, and racially tolerant.

What’s more, if you remove these Democrat-run cities from our national statistics, you will find an America that is overwhelmingly peaceful, safe, clean, and racially tolerant.

Nevertheless, Democrats and their fake-media allies still blame Republicans for all of their problems.

According to them, it is Republicans who are responsible for racism, pollution, and gun violence — even though, out here where we all live, our air, water, and streets are safe and clean… We all own guns, but where we live there is no gun violence crisis… We are all supposed to be racists and responsible for all the hate crimes, but out here where we all live, there is no hate crime crisis.

Now, there will be exceptions, but those exceptions only serve to prove the rule.

Let me lay this out for you…

OPENING

Leftists say they want to live in a Utopia free of gun violence, free of pollution, and free of racism…

Well, that place already exists.

It’s called Rural MAGA Land.

Out here in Rural America the environment is clean, no one worries about getting shot, and there are no racial tensions.

Let me start with a personal example…

For a total of 20 years now, I’ve lived in rural North Carolina. My wife is a Mexican immigrant. Our interracial marriage has never been a problem with anyone. My wife has never had a problem with anyone.

For six years, my next door neighbor was a mixed-race family. Black and white. They never had a problem.

On the other side of me is a couple with mixed-race grandkids. Black, white, and brown. They’ve never had a problem.

Riddle me this fake-media and Democrats: If Rural America is where all the racists are supposed to live, where’s all the racism in Rural America?

Everyone I know out here in Rural MAGA Land owns guns (plural), and yet I can’t remember the last time we had a shooting in my county, a county where shoplifting still makes the front page.

Oh, and get this… We’re all  supposed to be anti-environment, and yet out here in Rural MAGA Land, our waterways, streets, parks, forests, and neighborhoods are clean and filled with greenery.

Think about that. I mean really think about it.

You would think that instead of blaming us for all their problems, Democrats who live in these shithole cities would be asking us for advice on how to live, how to fix their neighborhoods, how to ease racial tensions — advice we would be happy to give.

Let me give you some concrete data…

RACISM

According to the Department of Justice, out here where I live in rural North Carolina, throughout all of 2019, there were a total of only 20 hate crime allegations in our 13 rural counties where the population adds up to 668,000. That means that throughout 2019, there were only 2.9 hate crime allegations per 100,000 people.

Guess what the hate crime number is in some of the most progressive, left-wing cities in America? Well, you don’t have to guess, because I have those numbers for you….

I think you are starting to get the point, but let’s close with my personal favorite…

Golly, gee, will you look at that! It is two and three times — and even ten times safer for a minority to live in Rural MAGA Country than it is in a oh-so progressive city populated and governed by Democrats.

How is that possible when we’re told that we are the racists? How is it possible that where all of America’s so-called racists live, where we all congregate, gather, own guns, and govern ourselves, there is less racism — and in most cases — MUCH less racism, than there is in cities filled with Democrats?

Shouldn’t there be more racism where all we “racists” live?

Look at those hate crime numbers again and what you will see is that a racial, sexual, and religious minority is around twice as safe in Rural Trump Land than they are in America’s most left-wing cities, and TEN TIMES safer than they are in Washington, DC, where Joe Biden won 93 percent of the vote!

Now that your left-wing head is spinning, you might begin grasping for straws to explain this away. Allow me to disabuse you of all your bad arguments…

You might want to believe no minorities live in Rural America, which means there are fewer opportunities for we yee-haw racists to commit hate crimes. Wrongwrongwrong….

Now while it’s true that there’s a smaller percentage of minorities living in Rural America than your ....hole cities, that only proves further that Rural America is much more tolerant than Democrat-run cities. Think about this…

Out here in Rural America, minorities are outnumbered by white people much more than they are in your cities, and yet, out here, even though they’re outnumbered, they’re much safer living among those of us smeared as racists.

Here’s a timely example…

The Asian population in Rural America is less than one percent. That means that out here in Rural MAGA Land, Asians are outnumbered by white Trump voters by, let’s say, 100-to-1… And yet, even though we are being falsely blamed for this recent wave of anti-Asian hate crimes, no one in MAGA Land is committing hate crimes against these vastly outnumbered Asians. There is no anti-Asian hate crime crisis in MAGA Land; the place where Asians are at risk are in cities populated and governed by Democrats.

Bottom line: Where Trump voters live and govern, there are almost zero hate crimes. Ahh, but where Democrats live and govern, look at all those hate crimes.

But somehow, even though we Rural Trump voters don’t live there, we’re still blamed for all the hate crimes that happen in cities mostly populated by and solely governed by Democrats.

Fact: There are no racial tensions in Rural America. People of all races and creeds and backgrounds live here together in relative peace and harmony. And it’s glorious. It’s a wonderful, wonderful way to live.

And to those of you who are stupid enough to believe that the only reason there are no racial tensions in MAGA Land is because “black people are afraid or intimidated,” look at what happened in my little town just last year. And guess how many hate crime allegations there were in my county (Watauga) in 2019…?  ONE. Or, as I like to put it, 303 fewer than in left-wing Seattle.

Anyone of any race, religion, color, sexual preference, or creed is welcome in MAGA country. As long as you leave us alone to live our beliefs, we will not only leave you alone to live your beliefs, if you ever need help, we will be there for you.

GUN VIOLENCE

Almost everyone in rural MAGA Land owns guns (plural). I own nine guns. And yet, the gun violence crises happen in cities that have been populated and governed by Democrats for years. In some cases, decades.

If guns cause violence and Trump voters are violent, why are there no gun violence crises in Rural America?

If gun control ends gun violence and Democrats are less violent, why is there so much terrible gun violence where there’s the most gun control and in Democrat-run cities where Democrats live?

If Trump voters were indeed violent, instead of being idyllic and peaceful, Rural America would look like Dodge City circa 1875.

Here’s a list of the top 15 cities in 2020 with the most murders and which party runs those cities…

  1. Chicago – Last Republican mayor was 1931
  2. New York City – It took Democrat Bill de Blasio six years to destroy Republican Giuliani’s miracle.
  3. Philadelphia – Only Democrat mayors since 1952
  4. Baltimore – Only Democrat mayors since 1967
  5. Houston – One GOP mayor since 1974
  6. Los Angeles – One Republican since 1961
  7. St. Louis – Only Democrats mayors since 1949.
  8. Dallas – One Republican mayor since 1995
  9. Kansas City – One Republican mayor since 1930
  10. Indianapolis – Since 2000, eight years of GOP rule, 12 years of Democrat rule
  11. Washington DC – Only Democrat mayors
  12. New Orleans – Democrat mayors since 1872 (not a typo)
  13. Jacksonville – Two Republican mayors and one Democrat since 2003
  14. San Antonio – officially a non-partisan office, but leftists have run that city for two decades
  15. Atlanta – Run by democrats since 1879 (not a typo).

Except for Jacksonville and Indianapolis (which have had both Republican and Democrat rule in recent years), every one of America’s most  murderous cities has been run exclusively by Democrats for decades, and not a single one of those cities  — not one! — has been run exclusively by Republicans.

Here’s a list of 2020’s top ten most dangerous cities per capita (violent crime incidents per 100,000 residents) and which party runs those cities… Spoiler alert: Democrats.

  1. Detroit – 1,965 per 100,000 – Democrats have run Detroit since 1962
  2. St. Louis – 1,927 per 100,000 – Democrats have run St. Louis since 1949
  3. Memphis – 1,901 per 100,000 – Democrats have run Memphis since 1992
  4. Baltimore – 1,859 per 100,000 – Democrats have run Baltimore since 1967
  5. Springfield (MO) – 1,519 per 100,000 – mayoral office is non-partisan, but the city is left-leaning
  6. Little Rock – 1,517 per 100,000 – ruled by Democrats for decades
  7. Cleveland – 1,517 per 100,000 – Ruled by Democrats since 1990
  8. Stockton – 1,397 per 100,000 – Alternates between GOP and Dem mayors.
  9. Albuquerque – 1,352 per 100,000 – One Republican since 1985
  10. Milwaukee – 1,332 per 100,000 – Only Socialist and Democrat mayors since 1906

Want to know the violent crime rate out here in Rural America where I and a whole lot of other gun-toting Trump voters live? Ready for this… 132 per 100,000. The overall crime rate in my Trump-loving county — even though our poverty rate is higher than Baltimore’s (more on this below) — makes it “one of the safest regions in the United States.”

Here are the violent crime numbers from my neighboring cities and towns: Lenoir (pop. 19,000), 436 per 100,000. Wilkesboro (pop. 3500), 434 per 100,00. Hickory (pop. 41,000) 401 per 100,000.

In the rural and more Republican areas outside of those small towns and cities, it’s even safer.

How is this possible in areas populated by “violent” Trump supporters who almost all own guns?

What’s more, how is it possible that all these oh-so progressive cities filled with oh-so progressive citizens and oh-so progressive political leadership are so full of violence and racism?

Are you still blaming Trump voters? Well, get this….

We North Carolina Trumptards, with all our guns, still have a MUCH LOWER violent crime rate than even the 50th most violent city in America (Rochester, NY – 748 per 100,000). Oh, and Rochester has been run by Democrats since 1974.

You want to blame the crime rate on density? Well, I invite you to take a look at parts of Hickory and Lenoir and even Boone. We don’t have the sprawl of a Chicago or Los Angeles, but we have plenty of densely populated areas, and they are nowhere near as unsafe as your oh-so progressive shitholes.

Besides, if density causes crime and racism, why are Democrats pro-density? If density causes crime and racism, why are crime and racism blamed on guns and Trump voters? How about you idiots make up your sick minds?

SIDE NOTE

I urge you to go through all 50 of the cities on the list linked above and look up who’s in charge. Yes, you will probably find some Republican-run cities, but once again, those are the exceptions that prove the rule. And I would like to add that there are places run by Democrats that are safe and clean and free of racial tensions. In fact, although my rural areas are Republican, Boone has a Democrat mayor.

That’s not my point.

So let me restate my point…

Out here in conservative, rural, Trump-loving America, we have no gun violence, pollution, or racial crises. But…. Nine times out of ten, when there is one of those crises, they are unrolling in places where Democrats live and govern.

DRUG PROBLEMS

Yes, like the rest of the country, Rural America definitely has a serious and troubling drug problem. Nevertheless…

Unlike Democrat-run cities, we have none of the murder, gangs, gun violence, carjacking, or homeless crises that go with it. No riots, no lootings…

POVERTY

The poverty rate in my county is higher than the poverty rate in Baltimore. Nevertheless…

Unlike Democrat-run cities, we have none of the murder, gang, gun violence, carjacking, or homeless crises that go with it. No riots or lootings…

CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

Rural America is populated by Trump voters who are constantly accused of being anti-environment, but… My God, it is beautiful out here where we live. Green and lush, clear streams and rivers, clean streets, blue skies… Unlike the polluted, toxic waste dumps that are so many Democrat-run cities, we take care of our environment.

SUMMATION

Democrats blame Trump voters for violence, racism, and pollution, but the truth is that where we all live and govern ourselves, we have no gun violence crisis, no racial tensions, and our air, water, and streets are safe and clean.

But in these ....hole cities where Trump voters and Republicans have NO SAY AT ALL when it comes to governing and policy, where Democrats all live and govern themselves, there’s one gun violence, hate crime, pollution, and homeless crisis after another.

How can Democrats blame us for their own problems, especially when where we live we don’t have any of these problems?

If Democrats were truly interested in solving these problems, instead of blaming us, they would be emulating how we live, not criticizing and ridiculing it.

BOTTOM LINE

Until it interferes with someone else’s right to live their life how they wish, everyone in America has the right to live their life however they wish. So if you moron-Democrats want to live with violence, filth, pollution, racial tensions, hate crimes, feces-covered sidewalks, race riots, gangs, smog, mass-shootings, and homeless encampments, you have every right to. Godspeed. And if you want to live your life blaming the problems you are solely responsible for on us Trump voters, you have every right to do that, as well.

I could not care less how you live your miserable lives, because out here in Rural MAGA Land, life is sweet and the closest we come to your filth and crime and violence and racial tensions is when we watch the news. And when the news blames us for your problems, we just lean back in our Lazy Boys.

You get what you vote for, and the idiots who live in Democrat-run ....holes are getting everything they deserve.
