New South Korean President's Parents Came Out Of North Korea With Chosin Few Marines

The unforeseen magnitude of the Chosin Reservoir Battle in North Korea had at least two world-changing aspects. First, it was the battle of Freedom against Communism that made possible the continuation of the Korean War that stopped the spread of Atheistic Socialism in its tracks. Viet Nam broke its back. If the Battle of Chosin had been lost, the entire First Marine Division would also have been annihilated and the war would have been lost along with South Korea.  In that event, Viet Nam would never have been fought and Communism would have easily taken over the entire world. The second, and less important event, which was determined by the Battle Of Chosin Reservoir is the amazing story below, of the new President of South Korea, which was brought to light at the site of the new Memorial just dedicated to our fellow warriors who were killed in that 13-day battle. The inspiration to build this Memorial, at the Marine Museum in Quantico, Va. came from the heart of our own General Cary here in Dallas several years ago. He presented it to our local North Texas Chapter of the Chosin Few and led us, from the front, as a platoon-sized group of old Marines, as he did in the Battle itself. We spread the word and raised the several $million it would cost to conquer the Memorial challenge.
This week, the Marine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff stood with the new President of South Korea to lay a wreath at our Monument.
It was there that the story of the  President of South Korea and his parents, who left North Korea with us, was revealed. Our thanks to you General Cary for your undying devotion to your Marines at Chosin, and your following through with the inspiration God gave you. You and He made it happen.

U.S. Marines Saved South Korea
President's Parents In Epic Battle

New South Korean President Moon Jae-in will begin a four-day U.S. trip for difficult talks on THAAD deployment and the North Korean threat with an emotional visit Wednesday to the "Frozen Chosin" exhibit at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va. Moon shares a special relationship with the Marine Corps and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford, the former Marine commandant. Dunford's father, then-20-year-old Joseph F. Dunford Sr., fought with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, in the brutal sub-zero 1950 battles against the Chinese around the Chosin Reservoir in ... North Korea. Moon's parents were among about 100,000 refugees who were evacuated from the area to the south as the Marines fought their way to the sea at Hongnam in what became known as the "Christmas Cargo" campaign, or the "Miracle of Christmas."

Moon's visit to the museum "will highlight the special meaning of the Korea-U.S. alliance, while also emphasizing an important part of the alliance in the history of the president's own family," Chung Eui-yong, the head of the South Korean presidential National Security Office, said Monday, according to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.

Vice President Mike Pence, whose father is a Korean War veteran and whose son, Michael J. Pence, is a Marine 1st Lieutenant, was to accompany Moon to Quantico and to meetings with business leaders.

On Thursday, Moon was meeting with House and Senate leaders on plans to confront erratic North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his drive for nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. Moon and his wife, Kim Jung-sook, will later join President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for dinner at the White House.

On Friday, Moon will hold crucial summit talks with Trump at the White House to air their differences on the way forward against North Korea. The two will then hold a joint news conference and Moon later will speak at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C., before returning home Saturday.

At the White House Monday with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump said, "The North Korean regime is causing tremendous problems and is something that has to be dealt with, and probably dealt with rapidly."

In his brief tenure in office, Moon ... elected last month in a landslide following the impeachment of ... Park Geun-hye in a bribery scandal, has argued for a radically different approach to the North.

The U.S. has installed two THAAD launchers but South Korea has blocked deployment of the full battery of six launchers pending an environmental study. Moon has also advocated opening talks with Kim Jong-un to avoid another war on the peninsula.

"If the right conditions are met, then I still think it is a good idea," Moon said of talks with the North in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday.

On THAAD, he said, "Getting the environmental impact assessment does not mean that we will cancel or reverse the decision to deploy."

In the interview, Moon noted that Trump also previously "mentioned that under the right conditions he is willing to engage in dialogue with North Korea. Regarding exactly how, "we do not have a detailed way forward. It must be in close consultation with the United States."

In early May, as Moon campaigned for election, Dunford was at the National Museum of the Marine Corps to dedicate the "Chosin Few Battle Monument" in the museum's new Medal of Honor Theater. (Some of the exhibits can be seen here.)

"It is no exaggeration to say that I am a United States Marine because of the Marines who served at Chosin," Dunford told an audience that included several of the "Chosin Few" veterans, now in their 80s, according to the account of the ceremony from DoD News' Jim Garamone. "In all sincerity, any success I have had as a Marine has been as a result of attempting to follow in their very large footsteps."

Some of those footprints were left by Joseph F. Dunford Sr., who marked his 20th birthday while carrying a Browning Automatic Rifle with the Baker Bandits of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

On Nov. 27, 1950, "He spent the night in close combat as three regiments of the Chinese 79th Division attempted to annihilate the 5th and 7th Marines," Dunford said.
"He never spoke of the horrors of close combat or the frostbite that he and many Marines suffered on their march to the sea," Dunford said of his father. "I was in the Marine Corps for seven years before we had a serious conversation about his experiences in the Korean War."
The battle came about as the 1st Marine Division, two battalions of the Army's 31st Infantry Regiment and British Royal Marines from 41 (Independent) Commando pursued elements of the North Korean Army.
They were counter-attacked by an estimated force of 120,000 Chinese Communist troops and surrounded at the Chosin Reservoir. (Chosin was the Japanese term for the area adopted by the Americans. In South Korea, the battle is known as the "Changjin Lake Campaign.")
The U.S. force eventually fought its way to the sea at the port of Hongnam. There began what American historians have called "the greatest evacuation movement by sea in US military history." A 193-ship armada took out about 100,000 troops and their equipment and about 100,000 fleeing refugees.
One ship alone, the SS Meredith Victory, evacuated 14,000 refugees and took them to the South Korean port of Pusan.
U.S. forces suffered more than 12,000 casualties, including more than 3,000 killed in action (In that one battle). The nation awarded 17 Medals of Honor, 64 Navy Crosses and 14 Distinguished Service Crosses to Marines and soldiers for heroism in the battle, and the British 41 Commando received the same Presidential Unit Citation as the 1st Marine Division.

He Shouted "Freedom" As He Destroyed A Stone Monument , But Is Still A Prisoner

What Is Freedom Anyway?

My comments follow the article below...
My Commentary

"...be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse..." Num. 5:19. Living under a curse, with no guidance from God, no laws, rules, or holy commands is not freedom, it is bondage, the opposite of freedom. Embracing Jesus, God's Word and all of His commandments sets us free from the power of sin, the ravages of sin, the bondage of sin, and the penalty of sin.

Freedom is not freedom from truth and good or from right, but freedom from the curse of sin's bondage and slavery. True freedom is "freedom from sinful defilement and from spiritual uncleanness", according to Num. 5:8. Slavery to sin, any sin, is born in the lie that you can't give it up, can't live without it. But the truth is, that you can't continue to live with it because it slowly spreads like cancer and kills you. "The wages of sin is death."
It is the devil's lie that you need it and that it will satisfy a deep need in your flesh. No, No, No! if not sacrificed to God and rejected, it grows stronger and stronger and finally destroys your flesh, your freedom and your fellowship with God. The lie embodied in all sin is that it satisfies, answers your fleshly need, frees you from the lustful hunger... and even the pain of your need. The truth is that feeding that beast of lust within you only allows it to spread and reproduce itself in all manner of deviation and grow still stronger.

Satan will tell you it can't be controlled, but that is a lie. God's presence in you can control it. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Jn.8:32. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truthand the life...." Jn.14:6.  "If the Son therefore shall make you free, shall be free indeed." Jn.8:36. (Jesus' words).

When we change Masters from a Slave Owner to God, our Creator, and true owner, by faith in His Son Jesus, we are not taking up another yoke of bondage but laying one aside. We are stepping out of our chains of sin and freely giving ourselves to our true owner and Heavenly Father with the liberty to breathe free, see in His light, live clean and at peace with God and ourselves. God's word, His teachings, and His commands ... His "Truth makes us free".

God's commandments "let us go free" from bondage. Here is one of his O.T. commands concerning a "debt" indentured person.

"And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free .... And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty." Deut. 15:12-13.

David, who was "the apple of God's eye", and a believer, fell into sin and out of fellowship with God, but freely went to God in prayer, repented and was restored to the freedom found only in obeying and serving God. So he prayed in Psm.51:6-13...."Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me ... and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.... Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

One final note... Being a victim of someone else's sinful deed to us does not free us from God's sure judgment of our own sinful actions. Some people take a false relief in the vain shelter of "being a victim" only, rather than the sinner we all are. But their own hidden sins, which they also have committed, within their own flesh, may well exceed the sin done unto them by another.

Seeking relief from the personal guilt, of a long series of sin, by assuming the sheltering cloak of "victim" only, does not make us innocent of all our own willful, unrelated sins, in the eyes of God.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Rom.3:23.

A Future President Similar To Reagan, But With A Stronger Christian Background

Viguerie is right; V.P. Pence may be the smartest, ablest, patriotic, Conservative and Christian prospect, as America's future President, in a position to win seven years from now. Keep an eye on him. RB

This from Conservative HQ

Mike Pence Quietly Establishes Himself As The Leader Of The Conservative Movement

  • Richard A Viguerie

Back during the 2016 Republican National Convention, I said that after his acceptance speech then-vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence had become the de facto leader of the conservative movement.
Pence’s steady performance during the 2016 campaign only served to convince me that I was right, as he steadily and solidly shored up candidate Donald Trump’s right flank during the often-chaotic days of the campaign.
And once in office Pence has continued to quietly and steadily offer leadership to conservatives on a wide variety of issues, while serving as the steady conservative voice whispering in President Trump’s ear.
Now, some of my conservative friends are going to speak up at this point and say, “But Richard, Pence was silent when this or that issue hit the front page.”
Or some other friend is going to pipe up and ask me what kind of “leadership” is it when Vice President Pence didn’t publicly disagree with the President on some issue where President Trump deviated from the four corners of our conservative agenda.
And someone else will point out that the Vice President hasn’t joined us in our justifiable frustration with the lack of legislative progress on the conservative agenda and hasn’t publicly criticized the failures of the Republican leadership on Capitol Hill.
My answer to these friends would be, “It’s smart leadership.”
I’m reminded that in my 56+ years of involvement in the conservative movement at the national level we’ve only had one conservative president – Ronald Reagan.
When Senator Barry Goldwater suffered his spectacular – but principled – loss in 1964, it wasn’t a given that Ronald Reagan would become the leader of the conservative movement.
But as I pointed out in my book TAKEOVER, Ronald Reagan fulfilled what I call “Viguerie’s Four Horsemen of Marketing”:
    • Position (a hole in the marketplace)
    • Differentiation
    • Benefit
    • Brand (it’s what makes you singular or unique)
Reagan became the leader of the conservative movement by filling the hole in the marketplace left by Goldwater’s epic defeat.
In 1964 Reagan was a fresh face, different from the Old Right conservatives. Probably his greatest benefit, when compared to other potential candidates, was his skill as a communicator, which made him electable; and his position, differentiation, and benefit established his brand, and his days on TV and in the movies had made it trusted.
In other words, conservatives needed a salesman, and Ronald Reagan, his skills honed in Hollywood, television, and on the dinner circuit, was the best salesman for conservative ideas the self-made entrepreneurs of his early “kitchen cabinet” ever saw.
Through Reagan’s leadership, we conservatives won a historic victory in 1980, and we were anxious to get everything done at once.
It didn’t happen that way, and we were often frustrated.
Few seem to remember it now, but conservatives didn’t get everything we wanted, on the schedule we wanted it, when Reagan was president – and we were not bashful about criticizing the President when we felt he wasn’t producing.
And President Reagan – the wise leader that he was – responded.
For example, when conservatives expressed dissatisfaction with the Reagan administration’s efforts to get restrictions on abortion passed through Congress, the President acted by issuing an Executive Order.
Sometimes there was debate, sometimes he was clearly annoyed, but we always knew that we had a seat at the table and that we were being heard.
And we knew that our agenda was not being ignored, even if it was not being worked on at the speed we wanted, and in the exact order we wanted things done.
And that is the same kind of leadership style I see in Vice President Mike Pence.
We all know President Trump isn’t a movement conservative, he’s a patriotic businessman with some conservative instincts – and that’s left a hole in the marketplace.
I see Mike Pence doing the same things Ronald Reagan did to fill that hole; differentiating himself from other conservative leaders, demonstrating the benefits of his steady and effective advancement of our cause and building his brand.
If there’s a conservative group that Mike Pence hasn’t spoken to I’m unaware of it. And if there’s a conservative leader whose advice and input he hasn’t sought, I don’t think I’ve met him or her.
And more importantly, if there’s an issue of concern to conservatives that the Vice President hasn’t been willing to take to the President, I haven’t heard about it.
It would be a lot more fun and exciting if Mike Pence were the kind of leader who would lead us in a charge up Capitol Hill, but that’s not likely to happen – and for good reason.
I know it will shock many of my longtime friends who know me as one of the original conservative insurgents – one who worked against the Republican establishment for Senators Bob Taft and Barry Goldwater and who helped elect President Ronald Reagan – but that, in my opinion, is not the kind of leadership we conservatives need right now.
What the conservative movement needs right now is a leader who will be effective in quietly pushing President Trump and Congress to the Right, and who in so doing will prepare our movement for its next great opportunity – the election of our second conservative president of the modern era. And today, more than any other public figure, Vice President Mike Pence is filling that hole in the marketplace.

Hey You Hero Jocks And Popular Kids, PUT A STOP TO THIS!!

Common Sense Commentary: Yes, of course, it is easy to say, this young girl should not have taken the bullying so seriously, and, yes, her parents should have raised hell with the school officials, and, yes, the school officials should have taken action without pressure from the parents, and, yes, the Jocks, athletes and popular kids should have put a stop to the bullying, but, evidently none of that happened. Call it cowardice or fear or neglect or stupidity, or whatever strikes you, but this sort of thing has to stop. Bullies at school could and should have been dealt with by, at least, the athletes who are usually stronger and more fearless than the other students and are also already campus heroes. So why didn't you jocks, who had nothing to lose, kick these cowardly bullies in the... in the ... the kneecaps or some more appropriate spot when you saw what they were doing to the weaker teens? And don't tell me it was none of your business. It is as much your business as a burglar in your home is your business. It should be so obvious to everyone that the strong should not have to be reminded of their God-given obligation to protect the weak. If you don't protect them, no matter how strong you are, you are a moral weakling and coward. God gave the strong a holy commission to protect the helpless and weak as the good Samaritan helped the beaten and robbed, helpless man.

"I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak ...." Acts 20:35.

"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves." Rom.15:1.

This precious, young, effeminate and gentle girl could not defend herself and did not have the rough or abusive home atmosphere which hardens young people against abuse by their peers. The picture I saw of her was of a sweet and innocent little flower of a girl. This sort of thing at school or on Facebook angers me to the core. I am calling on you popular kids and strong, athletic types to be the protectors of those younger or weaker than you ... not to pick on them, ignore them, or make them feel "worthless" as this little girl was made to believe of herself. Obituary of 15-year-old who committed suicide calls out school bullies

The family of a 15-year-old Pennsylvania girl who hanged herself are using her obituary to call out bullies who made the teen’s life worse at school.
Sadie Riggs died Monday and her family posted her obituary online to debunk any rumors of the death.
“It is hard to fathom that someone so young could be so troubled,” the family wrote, adding that the teen went to counseling and took medications for emotional issues complicated by bullying, much of it on social media. “For a young lady so excited about going to high school, things sure went terribly wrong for her.”
The bullies, the family said, made Riggs feel “worthless.”

Many kids are so vulnerable and defenseless at this age, and so afraid of being rejected, that they are easily taken advantage of. So be a man or a strong young woman... put a stop to this abuse in your schools. Fight? If the adults won't stop it and that's what it takes. RB

War Has Many Horrifying Moments...Few Joyful Ones

There is still a remnant of
    Christians in North Korea

Today, June 25, is the day the Korean war started 67 years ago. War has many horrifying moments and few joyful ones. One of my most horrifying ones, in South Korea, was just north of Seoul, the Capital City, as we drove the North Korean army back out of the South. That Communist army had left hundreds of South Korean Christians, and leaders, executed in the ditches along the road back to Pyongyang N.K. I realized at that moment that this was not just a political war against evil Communism, but a spiritual one against Satan ... and I cringed in my soul.

A few weeks later, we Marines had landed on the beaches of North Korea. We continued to drive their army North and were passing by a small farm, on a freezing day, in pursuit of that vicious army.  A family of North Korean civilians stood beside the road singing for us Americans, the familiar melody of "Amazing Grace", in their own language. The moment I realized what they were singing, a jolt of joy filled my soul, that even there, in that hellish nation, there were still a few Christians worshiping our Lord after 70 years of total isolation, no freedom, no churches, and few Bibles. They would have been shot if caught with a Bible. RB

The following is by Vernon Brewer,
the grandson of an old friend of mine.
From Fox News by Vernon Brewer
    North Korea's Christians Are
    Suffering We Cannot Forget Them

I will never forget my first day in North Korea.

As we drove over the Tumen River in 2007, our guide told us how North Koreans come to the riverbank and wait until evening to attempt the risky swim to mainland China. The border guards have orders to shoot on sight, and anyone attempting to cross illegally is subject to summary execution. Our guide then added, almost as an afterthought, “The Tumen has probably witnessed more deaths than any other river in the world.”

Once inside the country, I was suddenly struck by the eerie quietness that pervades the towns and cities we visited.

The streets were empty, absent of the usual traffic and busy city life, and the few people who found themselves outside seemed to meander aimlessly.

Today, I know brave Christians who smuggle Bibles disguised as phone books into the country. They risk their lives so others may have the opportunity to read the forbidden words of Jesus in their own language.

Convoys of ox carts replaced cars and public buses, and the buildings, with their water-stained stucco walls, looked hollow and gray. Electricity, too, was often cut off, so that at night entire towns were absorbed into darkness.

I was shocked to see students typing on keyboards while staring at blank computer screens at one government school. They were pretending to do their classwork while the power was out.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea — a communist state of 25 million souls — is considered the most secretive nation on earth. Driven by the Kim family into isolation and a cultic reverence to the royal family, this small nation now threatens to destabilize the world with nuclear warfare.

Yet, while rumors fly about secret islands used to stage missile launches, and stories emerge of U.S. citizens being held in hard labor camps, a whole narrative of persecution against Christians goes largely unreported in the media.

For 16 consecutive years, Open Doors has ranked North Korea “the most oppressive place in the world for Christians.” Though exact numbers are hard to confirm — estimates range between 30,000 to 70,000 — tens of thousands of Christians are believed to be held in “kwanliso,” or political labor camps.

Often sick and malnourished, these captives are subject to extreme violence and crude torture, suffering beatings with electric rods and metal poles, and even being used as test subjects for medical experiments, as reported in Christian Solidarity Worldwide’s 2016 report on North Korea.

Christians are frequently sentenced to these labor camps simply for owning a Bible, as evidenced by the gut-wrenching story I heard from inside North Korea.

“There was one homework [assignment] I wish I’d never done,” said Eun, now in her 40s.

One morning, when Eun was in third grade, her teacher told the class, “Today we’re not going to give you homework.” Naturally, all the children celebrated the news, but the teacher wasn’t finished.

“However, when you go home, look for a book,” the teacher continued. “Normally it’s black. Normally it’s hidden. Normally it’s the book your mom or dad read when you sleep. Normally it’s hidden in the closet or the drawer or somewhere that’s not reachable, but if you look hard enough you can find this book.”

“And, if you bring it, we will honor you.”

Eun ran home, arriving before her mom. She looked everywhere, through drawers, cabinets, underneath mattresses, until she finally found a small, black, leather-bound book. She hid it inside her bag and took it to school the next morning.

At school, Eun’s teacher gave her a red scarf — the sign of a good kid in communist North Korea. Eun’s mother didn’t allow her to be involved in government-sponsored extracurricular activities, so Eun had never had the opportunity to receive this honor.

With the scarf around her neck, she ran home to tell her mom what had happened — but her mom wasn’t there. In fact, Eun waited all night for her mom, but she never arrived. When Eun got to school the following day, with an empty stomach, she found out the parents of 14 other students also hadn’t come home the night before.

Many people don’t remember that in the early 20th century, Pyongyang was known as the “Jerusalem of the East,” or that Christianity played a major role in the history of the Korean peninsula.

Even after communism began to overtake North Korea, Christianity’s influence was so prevalent that Kim Il Sung’s father was a Christian and his father-in-law a Presbyterian minister.

Today, I know brave Christians who smuggle Bibles disguised as phone books into the country. They risk their lives so others may have the opportunity to read the forbidden words of Jesus in their own language.

During this time of great political intrigue surrounding North Korea, we must not forget the country’s Christians. Countless thousands of them suffer daily for their faith.

So What Determines Your Lot In Life?

Who You Are And Who You Become?

Common Sense Commentary: Of course God's plan and presence in our lives changes our individual lot in life, but we must yield our will to His will as Jesus did on the cross. He asked for deliverance when he prayed, "Let this cup pass from me ....", but he didn't stop there, or God would have removed Him from the cross and there would be no salvation for us. But Jesus continued His prayer "... nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."  Mt.26:39.  That was the flesh, and blood, Jesus (human) side of Jesus Christ praying, not the Christ (deity) side.

Even so, we also have a free will to submit to our God's perfect will for us, and we can follow our fleshly will or yield it to God's will.
Either way, the way we choose will, to a huge extent, determine our future "lot" in life.

And so it was with Abraham and his nephew, Lot.

Terah was the father of two brothers, Abram and Haran. Abraham's brother Haran fathered Lot. Abraham was the father of both Ishmael and Isaac and thus both the Arabs and Jews. This, as a result of Abram's faulty decision to take his maidservant, Hagar, in a sexual relationship, and became the primary cause of constant conflict between Arabs and Jews for the next 3900 years right up to today. That one sin became the poisonous fruit which would agitate and create the "lot" in life of both the Arabs and Jews til the end of time.

Abraham's nephew, Lot, would also make bad choices which would determine his descendent's lot in life through centuries of conflict and suffering along with his Uncle Abram's  descendants. Lot's first decision may have been a good one when he chose to join himself with his successful Uncle Abram. But that union eventually became strained and they agreed to go their separate ways. Abraham was kind enough to let Lot choose between the less fertile north or the well-watered plains of the south. Of course, young Lot chose the better conditions of the south and moved his family into the convenient city of Sodom ... in the south. This selfish choice, of Lot,  increased his wealth but was the seed of much loss and suffering to his future lot in life and that of his heirs and his Uncle Abraham's. So, there, Lot and his family were, in a wicked city, with lots of personal wealth and lots of entertainment. That is when God sent two emissaries  ... (angels) to visit this man, who is called "just" in 2 Peter 2:7. This word is the Greek "dikaios" and means, "righteous". Well, how can Lot be called just or righteous? Simple. Eph. 2:8-9 makes it plain that "By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph.2:8-9

No matter how many bad choices and bad decisions a true believer, like Lot, makes, and thus, complicates his lot in life, his soul is still just or justified and his righteousness is not in himself but in Christ. "...You are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us ... our righteousness, holiness, and redemption." 1 Cor. 1:30.  Even so, Lot continued to make bad decisions. When the lustful homosexual mob demanded Lot to bring out the visiting angels of God to them,  Lot tried vainly to protect them ... whose help they did not need, and, instead, he offered the mob his two daughters, which that lustful, perverted mob did not want. Then, when warned of God to get out of that wicked city, Lot chose to stay.... with all his stuff. But God forcefully, but graciously, picked Lot and his family up and set them safely outside the city before He rained destruction upon it.

If Lot hadn't already messed up his lot in life enough, he allowed himself to be manipulated by his two sinful daughters, who got him drunk, had sex with him, and became the mothers of the Moabites, and Ammonites. These two incestuous tribes would later be worshipers of a host of pagan, false gods and cause God's people enormous suffering and trouble.... the lot in life of both pagans and believers .... caused by bad choices. Bad choices affect those who make them and those around them.

The fact is, we all, in many ways, determine our own lot in this life through the choices we make. This is in harmony with God's decree  in Gal.6:7 ... "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

Side note: Interestingly, the Muslim Koran (bible) records Abram's nephew, Lot, as a "messenger and prophet sent from God" to teach monotheism to the Sodomites. Islam was later established as a monotheistic religion of one god, but the wrong one. They believe in "one God", but theirs is a false god, a false bible, a false prophet, a false religion, a false salvation, a false church, and a false heaven. Their lot in life is so determined .... unless they repent and believe on Christ as the only Savior ... not Mohammad. RB

Dems Are Being Buried In Grave They Dug For Trump

Common Sense Commentary: There are numerous, known incidents in the past when some murderous plotter secretly dug a grave for the object of his hatred only to be buried in it himself.
One of those grave diggers was a Mafia Hit man who did a fine job of digging but a poor job of killing. Another was a Ku Klux Klaner who dug his own grave in a place still unknown but he suddenly disappeared and the target of his hatred showed up with the plotter's gold watch, which he swore he found in the woods and no one could prove otherwise. Galatians 6:7 doesn't just apply to seeds but also to deeds. "...Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
Many an old Mountain Man Trapper has lost fingers in his won traps. Some lost a foot in their own bear trap, and a few their lives.
The moral of this story is, be very careful you do not participate in digging graves and setting traps for people you disagree with. You may succeed in digging it so deep you need a ladder to get out, but then have it cave in on you when you fill that last bucket with dirt to throw in his face. You may also set a bear trap for someone bearing ideas opposite to your own but forget exactly where you put it and find yourself trapped in your own inescapable handiwork. Unless your own life is threatened with imminent death, it is always best to use words as your weapons and ideas as your defense.

The Democrat conspiracy to obstruct Trump's campaign promises and destroy or impeach him is backfiring ...which is an unintended way of shooting yourself in the face with the shotgun shell you intended for someone else.

After a mammoth effort to get out the Democrat voters of Georgia, Tuesday, in a 50 Million dollar race for a U.S. House Of Rep. seat, they failed. The Republican won it.

The same thing happened in South Carolina on the same day. Another Republican beat the Democrat handily.

Less than a month ago the same thing happened in Montana even after the winner was charged with assault in a set up against him.
From New York Times: On May 25, Greg Gianforte, a Republican technology executive who was charged with assault on Wednesday night, defeated Rob Quist, the Democratic candidate, in Thursday's special election for Montana's at-large Congressional seat.

Hatred, lies, loud accusations, and Soro's money are backfiring into the face of Democrats, but they just cannot help themselves. Theirs is not a death wish but a power and free money obsession which is carrying them to the political graveyard where they have been digging a deep hole for Trump .... but their name is on the tombstone.

Hate and greed are not a winning platform.

Charles Krauthammer blasted Democrats for continuing to preach a message of obstruction while ObamaCare continues to collapse.
"[Dem.Oregon Sen. Ron] Wyden says his purpose is to be loud," Krauthammer said. "Loud is not a program. They're obsessed with the process."
Krauthammer said American's don't care whether the health care bill was crafted in private, as long as it positively affects their life.
    From Commentator Todd Starnes
The Democrats earned another moral victory last night -- losing a special election to fill Georgia's sixth congressional district.
Republican Karen Handel defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff -- in the most expensive House race in history. "Women in this community stood up," Mr. Ossoff said in his concession speech.

It's true - they stood up, got in the cars, drove to a polling place and voted for Ms. Handel.

Mr. Ossoff, who bore a striking resemblance to "Pajama Boy", did not even live in the district -- but he did have the backing of Hollywood, the Mainstream Media and $23 million in mostly out-of-state campaign money.

CNN anchors actually predicted the Georgia congressional race was a definitive referendum on President Trump.

Turns out -- they were absolutely right. Congratulations, Mr. President - now 4-0 in congressional races against Democrats and the Mainstream Media.

    Still in effect....

Home Schooled Children Most Likely To Surpass Other Options... IF

    Parental commitment is vibrant

Common Sense Commentary: The first Homeschool requirement, for a superb educational atmosphere, is diligent and committed parents who do the teaching. The second is the child of that sort of teacher parents. The same thing is required in any excelling Christian School... excellent teachers, administrators, and students from the homes of great parents. The same thing is required in an effective Public School if there are any .... excellent teachers, administrators, and students from the homes of great parents. The problem with many Home schools is idealistic but lackadaisical
parents. The problem with some Christian Schools is the same idealism, but underpaid and inferior teachers, administrators who are untrained, and overcrowded classrooms. One of the biggest problems with most Public Schools is "tenured teachers", too many of which have poor teaching skills, and administrators who are disorganized and negligent, plus overcrowded and undisciplined classrooms.

My friend, Jim Pound, and I founded three highly successful Christian Schools, in three different counties, and he, a fourth in another county. They all were Kindergarten through High School. A very large majority of our graduates went on to college and thousands of them have gone on to successful careers and lives. The quality of teachers and administrators is by far the most important aspect of a truly great school even if the school is in a ghetto. Add "Christian" content to that and you have a winning combination for education at any level. Little children are like a sponge hungry for knowledge..... but the motivation and good information, like water, must be there for them to soak it up. RB

Don't Forget To Remember What Did And Did Not Happen

Common Sense Commentary: Some things to remember about left-wingers.... They falsely accuse Conservatives of the lies they, themselves, are guilty of and take credit for good things they stood against. RB

Remember that time Donald Trump was paid $500,000 to give a speech in Moscow?  Oh no, wait... a minute ... You are right, that was BILL CLINTON wasn't it. We Democrats have a little trouble with aligning the truth with our lies.

Remember that time Trump failed to disclose Russian donors to his foundation before he served as Secretary of State?   What's that, you say?  Oh yeah, that was HILLARY Clinton wasn't it. We Liberals have a mental struggle with political amnesia.

Remember the time Trump was business partners with the Russian govt? His company received $35M from Russia...  What? Oh, now I remember that was JOHN PODESTA. We Socialists can easily recall what didn't happen.

Remember the time Trump scored $145M from shareholders of a U.S. uranium company that was sold to the Russians?  Why do you keep objecting? Are you sure that was HILLARY Clinton ...again? We progressives get our false facts confused now and again.

Remember the time that President Trump gave $150 Billion to a terrorist state and a sworn enemy of the United States. Then later shipped pallets full of small denomination unmarked bills to the same terrorist state and sworn enemy?  Shut up you homophobes, I know for sure that happened. You say that wasn't Trump? Was it Bush? Oh, it was President Barrack Hussein Obama? I'm sorry I said Hussein, my boss forbids it. We presstitutes get our lies mixed up sometimes.

Remember when President Trump said it served justice to allow those under investigation to destroy evidence taking a hammer to cell phones and laptop hard drives?  Oh no, not again, are you sure that was James Comey, head of the FBI?  We burro crats always remember clearly and with certainty the way it wasn't.

Remember that time President Trump destroyed evidence subpoenaed by Congress and the FBI?  What! you again?  ... That was Hillary Clinton? Will you please stop contradicting my mistakes? Nobody is perfect. I'm sick, I have mental astigmatism.

Well maybe you remember that time Donald Trump approved the sale of 20% of U.S. uranium to the Russians?!  Yes, yes, I know, that was HILLARY CLINTON too, but everybody is wrong once in a while... even God... If there is one.

You willful contradictors of falsehoods ... remember to vote for honest, God fearing, red white and blue, patriots who will tell us flag waving Constitutionalists the truth. Save our free country for our children and grandchildren. RB

A Glimmer Of Truth Forces Its Way From The Lips Of Liberal Extremist

Today's attempted slaughter of Republican Congressmen, on a baseball diamond in Virginia, speaks for itself. It is a result of the Democrat war of hatred against defenders of Constitutional Law.
This kind of spark could trigger a national reaction by zealots on the right ... and then the left again... and then a revolution. One thing triggers another, and then another, and then another.

The Democrat avalanche of hatred for Trump and Conservatives is truly a confused, no, irrational, no, crazy, no, insane uproar. This vindictive spewing out of hostility by thousands of the same Leftwing lips which bitterly screamed "racist hatred" at the slightest criticism of their American, heritage hating champion, Obama, is psychotic. Did their opposites, American Constitutional Conservatives, riot, hang in effigy, or incite assassins to murder their man? No! But now, even the infamous Leftwing Socialist, Piers Morgan, sees their lunacy and, himself erupted objection to his friends' rank, un-American extremism. Give Morgan a smiley face for that glimmer of truth which forced its way from his Liberal lips before the shootings today.   RB

Liberal Brit, Piers Morgan, SLAMS Democrat's Hypocritical and Violent Rhetoric Against Trump ???

British Liberal Piers Morgan is not happy with his friends in America. He just can’t understand how liberals can be so hypocritical and perverse in their opposition to President Trump. To be clear, he understands why they oppose Trump… he just doesn’t understand how they can defend using such violent and troubling rhetoric in their attacks.

Morgan starts near the beginning with Madonna’s “Women’s March” attack on the Trump presidency:

Madonna started this disturbing trend by screaming at the Women’s March the day after the Inauguration that she dreams of ‘blowing up the White House.’

Following this outrageous comment, which attracted global headlines, death threats were aimed at the new president on an unprecedented scale.

Dataminr reported that in the next two weeks alone, more than 12,000 posts with the words ‘assassinate Trump’ were made on Twitter.

The threats have carried on coming, many of them far more serious than a Twitter post, with Secret Service working 24/7 to stop myriad plots to attack POTUS.

Yet this hasn’t stopped people who should know better from fanning the flames. He then skips over a few months (and thousands of threats) to Kathy Griffin:

Two weeks ago, comedian Kathy Griffin posted a photograph of herself clutching an image of Trump’s severed, blood-splattered head.
It was a just a joke, she wailed, when all hell broke loose.

    Really, Ms Griffin?

You think it’s funny to hold your president’s severed head to a camera at a time when ISIS barbarians have been doing just that to fellow Americans?

‘Like many edgy works of artistic expression,’ explained her attorney Lisa Bloom, ‘this could be interpreted different ways. But Griffin never imagined it could be misinterpreted as a threat of violence against Trump. That was never what she intended.’

    Nonsense.

That’s exactly what Griffin intended. She wanted everyone to look at that photo and imagine Trump being murdered by decapitation. There is literally no other thought process it could possibly inspire. Finally, he brings us to the Shakespeare in the Park retelling of Julius Caesar, with Trump as Caesar getting assassinated by minority and female Senators:

No sooner had the Griffin furor calmed down than a similar new one has erupted.

This time, it involves New York’s non-profit Public Theater and its new production of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’ in Central Park. The play portrays Caesar as a tempestuous, petulant blond-haired businessman in an expensive business suit with an American pin flag and over-long ties who takes baths in a gold bathtub…

It ends with Caesar/Trump being brutally murdered by Roman senators who fear he has become too power hungry.

Only, in this case, the assassins are all women and minorities, two groups that Trump has been accused of marginalizing.

There is zero doubt the play’s producers want us to believe it’s Trump.

The New York Daily News said the production ‘imagines the Roman ruler as a blond, swaggering egotist who’s a dead ringer for the current occupant of the Oval Office. And he gets murdered for his hubris and hunger for power.’

Even the New York Times review last week stated that it ‘takes onstage Trump-trolling to a startling new level. Morgan explains that the director of the play says that ‘Anyone seeing our production will realize it in no way advocates violence towards anyone.’ Except that, of course, it does. The entire play is performed with the premise that Trump is somehow a modern day dictatorial Caesar who at the end of the play is murdered by the people that liberals think he is marginalizing.

Morgan finally lectures his liberal friends, reminding them that their fixation on bringing violence upon their opponents is dangerous and that the real way to oppose your political opposition is through debate and the ballot box.

The way for liberals to beat Donald Trump is not by wishing him dead.

It is by using everything in the American democratic system to defeat him by fair means not foul.

That means at the ballot box, in the 2018 mid-term elections and the 2020 general election.

And it means by putting constant pressure on lawmakers to enforce every check and balance in their power to keep Trump’s more Caesar-esque aspirations at bay.

Just as they have been doing on things like his travel ban…

That is how US democracy works, not through a knife or gun. I may be cynical but I think that Morgan may be too late with his advice.

Across America, and the world, liberals seem to have embraced the idea that violence is a useful and acceptable tool in their oppositional efforts. Groups like Antifa and the Black Bloc have fully endorsed the use of violence against their opponents and now even argue for a fascist interpretation of freedom. Ironically, these groups were supposedly founded to oppose “fascism” but have instead fully embraced the violence, rhetoric, and philosophy of fascism.

It’s not just the extremist groups either, but as Morgan points out, mainstream liberals have also taken to defending and even using similar methods to oppose their conservative opponents.

We are on the cusp of a very dangerous era in Western politics and we need more liberals like Piers Morgan standing up and speaking out if we want any hope of ending the insanity before it’s too late.

A Glimpse Into The Memories Of An Old Man's Youth

Common Sense Commentary: "The memory of the just is blessed...." Prov.10:7 The word "just", in the Hebrew, means, "to be declared right or righteous". That does not mean "innocent" but "forgiven, and made right" with God.... justified.

    I turned 19 that year....
In winter of 1949-50, after 10 months of combat training at Camp Pendelton, Calif., my battalion was sent, on flat-bottomed LST's, to Alaska. We sailed up the inside passage to Juneau, Alaska and then west across the Gulf Of Alaska to land on Kodiak Island. We were there for Extreme Cold Weather Training. Being a West Texas boy, that was my first experience with sub-zero temperatures ... and we were living out in it, in that mountainous wilderness, with the famous Grizzle Bears. To my knowledge, the Marines had never fought a war on a battlefield that cold and weren't likely to. So I now see that timely experience as God's preparing me and those few Marines for the Battle Of Chosin Reservoir, exactly one year later, in the frozen, mountainous wilderness of North Korea. I learned things on Kodiak which would help me survive minus -30-40 (below zero) temperatures a year later during the Chosin battle. I suffered less frostbite in North Korea than any Marine I know of. Before leaving Kodiak Island, we were allowed to visit Kodiak Village, up the coast, which had a Trading Post/General Store.  It was there I bought my girlfriend, Bettie, an engagement ring and had it mailed to her in Texas with my proposal of marriage. That way she couldn't refuse me. We were married when I returned home that Spring and she later joined me at my new duty station at Camp Lejune, North Carolina .... 67 years ago this month.

Since I had no rank, no money, no free time, and no sense, we could hardly even afford our small bedroom in someone else's home. The few times I did get to be with her, on weekends, there in Jacksonville, N.C., we couldn't afford to do much but sit on the porch or walk in the town and maybe have a coke. Jim (Leroy) Story, who had become my best buddy at Camp Lejeune, joined us a couple of times for a coke and sandwich and walking in the town.... doing nothing. We did get to attend a Bluegrass stage show, by the famous Bill Monroe, one Saturday. Jim was a real Bluegrass fan and had a good voice.

Then, from bad to worse, my company was sent on bivouac, to the rifle range, miles from Camp Lejeune and the town, where my new bride had little to do but wait for me to come in and deal with morning sickness. She was, as we called it back then, "With child". But, in her case, she was "With children" ... twins. All the while, I was kept busy 12 to 15 hours a day in the boondocks practicing war with competing Marine Companies. Then, in the late evenings, while Bettie sat in that one little room, alone, Jim, Lucky Don Henderson and I were singing Blue Grass to entertain the troops out in the middle of nowhere mosquito land.

One evening, after shooting the rifle range all day, our commanding officer called us together to tell us war had broken out in Korea, and it was likely we Marines would be involved in it. Our training was halted and we were returned to Camp Lejeune and those of us who had wives in Jacksonville were advised to send them home. Within days we were on trains headed for California... and Korea.

As the troop train, Jim and I were on, passed quickly through my hometown, Arlington, Texas, one midnight, he and I were hanging out between the cars to see my sleeping little town. Jim promised to return with me, when the war was over, to meet my family. I was thinking what a good brother-in-law he would make. But God had other plans. Neither Jim nor Lucky Don Henderson would make it home alive.

The following email is part of an exchange between me and Jim's younger brother, Bob Storey, concerning my Memorial Day post dedicated to my two buddies, Jim and Lucky Don.

How interesting, Rayburn!  I often wondered what our lives would have been like had Jim lived.  Things were tough (although we didn't realize it) when we were kids.  Jim at times took a ribbing because he was at an age when he could help mom tend for a large family.  We cooked and heated with wood on that old farm, and to make things worse we never had, it seemed, enough wood "up" and nearly a nightly job for Jim and me was to saw wood as soon as we got home from school.  And the old cross cut saw seemed never sharp.  Jim and I used to talk about how we would do it when we had a home and family--we would have more than enough wood cut and stacked to do for the whole winter like our German neighbors did,  Some four or five months before Jim enlisted in the Marines, he had bought a used Oldsmobile car that he was so proud of, even though the payments ran nearly everything he made.  'Dad was unable to make the payments for Jim and I recall the sad time when the repo truck came and picked up Jim's car.  Mom finally had to write Jim and tell him what had happened.  Sad times.  But, I remember Jim writing Mom to tell her not to worry, that he would get a new one after the war.  I'll let you go, brother.  Bob.

Well, Bob, if Jim still wanted a new Oldsmobile when he got to heaven, he surely got an upgrade. I can see him now, roaming the universe in a golden Chariotmobile, and ten thousand times more happy than any of us mortals... still here in these old worn out bodies. Jim has a new one to go with his glowing chariot's wings of fire and universal, rapid transit. Hey, Jim, show me around when I get there. Your Buddy... Rayburn ... Psm.115:1
