Happiness Is A Choice ... A Decision ... A Commitment

Common Sense Commentary: A close and honest observation of the lives of famous and infamous men and women will reveal a very sobering fact. Nothing, in this world, will make you peacefully and truly happy. Whether it be power, fame, wealth, health, marriage, children, friends,  accomplishments, beauty,     possessions, physique or religion. The peace and hope and faith in Jesus, which result in happiness, are its only source. People can be briefly or temporarily happy without Jesus. They can laugh, smile, speak confidently and pretend to be happy... and be convincing; but only a close relationship with Jesus Christ will bring true and permanent happiness. All other mirages of happiness are, in fact, at best, brief and fleeting emotion. RB

Example: An Arab Emir

ABD AL-RAHMAN III was an emir
and caliph of Córdoba in 10th-century
Spain. He was an absolute ruler who
lived in complete luxury. Here’s how
he assessed his life:
“I have now reigned above 50 years
in victory or peace; beloved by my
subjects, dreaded by my enemies,
and respected by my allies. Riches
and honors, power and pleasure,
have waited on my call, nor does any
earthly blessing appear to have been
wanting to my felicity.”
Fame, riches and pleasure beyond
imagination. Sound great? He went
on to write:
“I have diligently numbered the
days of pure and genuine
happiness which have fallen to
my lot: They amount to 14.”

The Suffering Job, who had lost everything, revealed a key to happiness:
"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty." Job 5:17

The Psalmist, David, put it in more specific terms:
"Happy ... is that people, whose God is the LORD." Psm.144:15.

.
King Solomon, the wisest of men, emphasized obedience as a key:
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law (of God), happy is he." Prov.29:18.

And Jesus, Himself, made it even more clear:
"For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.  If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them." Jn. 13:15 & 17.

If you miss out on all else or lose everything, Put your faith in Jesus. RB

ObamaCare Counted On "Stupidity Of American Voter" Says It's Creator.

Common Sense Commentary: The constant, dishonest, magnitude of utterly treacherous, craven, misguided and false hearted fraud the Obama Presidency has crammed down the throats of the American people, is without precedent in this country. Yes, it has happened in other nations, but never in the United States of America. I am beginning to wonder if this man is right in his conclusion about "the stupidity of the American voter". Obama was not once, but twice elected.
That fact would lead one to believe that Hillary will be our next President unless Christians wake up and put a stop to this chicanery.  RB

ObamaCare architect says lack of transparency helped law pass, cites 'stupidity of the American voter'

The Daily Caller By Patrick Howley Published November 11, 2014

NOW PLAYING ObamaCare architect admits 'lack of transparency' strategy Never autoplay videos ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber said that lack of transparency was a major part of getting ObamaCare passed, and that it was written in such a way as to take advantage of "the stupidity of the American voter."

Gruber, the MIT professor who served as a technical consultant to the Obama administration during ObamaCare’s design, also made clear during a panel quietly captured on video that the individual mandate, which was only upheld by the Supreme Court because it was a tax, was not actually a tax.

“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that.  In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.”

ACA Architect: 'The Stupidity Of
The American Voter' Led Us To Hide
Obamacare's True Costs From The Public

Avik Roy , Forbes Staff

You’ve got to hand it to MIT economist Jonathan Gruber. The guy dubbed the “Obamacare architect” is a viral YouTube sensation. A few months back, he was caught on tape admitting that Obamacare doesn’t provide subsidies for federally-run insurance exchanges; it’s now the topic of a new case before the Supreme Court. Today, new video surfaced in which Gruber said that “the stupidity of the American voter” made it important for him and Democrats to hide Obamacare’s true costs from the public. “That was really, really critical for the thing to pass,” said Gruber. “But I’d rather have this law than not.” In other words, the ends—imposing Obamacare upon the public—justified the means.

New Texas Governor Greg Abbot Stands Up To Obama

Common Sense Commentary: Step forward, Texas, lead the way, and true, patriotic, Constitutional Americans will follow. Lawlessness must be stopped even if it is the President of the our Nation. RB

From The
Conservative Tribune

BREAKING NEWS: Texas Just Made a Huge Announcement… The Resistance Is Starting There’s nothing quiet about Texas Governor-elect Greg Abbott’s transition from his current Attorney General post to the the state’s top executive office.

In a flourish that showcased his conservative principles, duty to his current office, and freshly minted referendum from the people of the Lone Star State, Abbott threw down the gauntlet to Obama on executive action regarding amnesty. (H/T: BizPacReview) Interviewed on Fox News Monday, Abbott said Texas will sue the Obama administration if the president tries to overstep the bounds of his executive power and interfere in immigration and naturalization issues. “If the president crosses the line he’s going to see an overwhelming rejection of what he’s trying to do, so he better not overstep,” Abbott said, adding, “if he does, for one of course we’ll be involved with another lawsuit against him but [for] another you can expect quite a strong pushback [from the people].” Abbott, and sitting governor Ricky Perry, face a difficult situation in the border state of Texas, made all the harder by the Obama administration’s utter refusal to enforce the law of the land. But Obama can’t leave bad enough alone, and instead of simply being a non-actor who refuses to enforce the law, the president is determined to actually promote additional illegal immigration, approving programs that attract illegals and working on programs that will allow those illegals to stay once they get here. Obama’s entire flawed worldview manifests in the illegals/amnesty issue. He has no respect for the rule of law. He doesn’t care about Americans. He wants to redistribute American wealth. And he believes his ideas are more important than those of the people he works for. He is completely self-centered and self-deluded.

At Last, A Moment Of Truth In A Dungeon Of Government Lies

Common Sense Commentary: It is commonly said, "Ignorance is bliss". But that sweet, blissful moment in ignorance of the TRUTH, has cost millions of human beings the price of bondage, slavery and death. For that is where ignorance leads. Its opposite, in the words of Jesus, "...The truth shall make you free". John 8:32.  So it is also true that ignorance shall make slaves.

In the 1930's, and early 40's, the European Jews did not dream that anything like the Holocaust could ever happen. The Nazis did not warn them and the average German refused to believe the whispered rumors that Jews were being exterminated. The few Jews who anticipated it, sold out and moved out of Germany. Even fewer moved far enough away and were rounded up when the Nazi occupiers over-ran France, Belgium, Poland and other surrounding nations. The newspapers and news broadcasters were not allowed to warn the Jews to leave wherever they were living in Europe. What really happened in those days, in Europe, did not show up in news reports until after the war. The truth is, that few news stories are anywhere near accurate anyway. If you don't believe that, experience a news worthy event, in person, and then read about it in the paper the next day. Usually, you won't recognize it as the same event you experienced. I have been reported on, in newspapers, many times, in the past .... never more than 50% accurately.

While German newspapers were reporting that many Jews were leaving Germany for other countries, Adolph Eichmann and his henchmen were loading "Last Trip Trains" with thousands of Jews ... to be worked to death in Nazi concentration camps or burned in the ovens of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Solibor, Belzek and hundreds of lesser known death camps. Nazi commanders were beguilingly encouraging those Jews ... "Quickly now, my friends, we must hurry" ... "The Russians are advancing on our Eastern front; we must escape them" ... "I must apologize for the hasty way we brought you under our protection" ... and a thousand other such lies ... which those poor Jews believed, or at least hoped was true. They could not comprehend their horrific, inhumane fate at the hands of the German authorities ... but it happened. Even the Allies could not comprehend 6,000,000 Jews being exterminated by German government authorities. But it happened. The truth was denied, covered up by the Nazis and German news media. That sad few years of evil, wanton atrocities was just too unbelievable, in the civilized minds of people, to believe credible. But it happened ... Visit the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem and see the walls of innumerable, horrifying pictures of it .... Our own General Eisenhower had thousands of those pictures made as a matter of historical record. It happened then and it could very well happen again ... in any country, including our own. Keep speaking out, and keep voting ... before even the hallowed ballot boxes are all corrupted as in Chicago and Detroit.  It is a fact that if every Christian voted in our U.S. elections, it would be enough to preserve our constitutional freedoms. On Veteran's Day ... A Call To America To Return To Our Roots And To Our God

Watch this video and then read the blog, followed by another video.
www.youtube.com/embed/uoABty_zE00?rel=0

Common Sense Commentary: God has a word for everyone, for every occasion, including entire nations. The following verses, from Deuteronomy, were spoken to Israel 3465 years ago when they went astray from worshiping and following Him. They are timeless words of correction, and apply to every people and nation which turns away from their Creator and Savior. It is worse to know God and then turn from Him than never to have known Him at all. This is how God deals with such people and such nations and this is how He is dealing with America ... right now.  His method of dealing with nations has not changed. RB

Deuteronomy 30:1&15:
"And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee ....  "See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil...."

Deut. 32:1-35:
"Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth..... They have corrupted themselves ... they are a perverse and crooked generation. Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance ... he set the bounds of the people .... For the LORD'S portion is his people .... As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings ....So the LORD alone did lead .... But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger....They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.... Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.... And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities .... For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth .... I will heap mischiefs upon them .... They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction .... The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.... For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them ....O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!....For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter .... To  me belongeth  vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. Deut. 32:1-35.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17.

Meet Saria Blair, New West Virginia Lawmaker ... An 18 Year Old Conservative

Common Sense Commentary: This 18 year old, young American, is amazingly mature and well spoken to be so young. Besides that she is intelligent enough to have chosen Conservatism over Liberalism as her political ideal. In fact, she is so smart and balanced that I am going to claim kin to her, since we have the same last name, even though I have never heard of her before today. Here she is, ladies and gentlemen .... Lawmaker for the state of West Virginia ... Saira Blair.... God bless you Saira. RB

Old Glory Still Waves Atop The Tallest Flagpole In The World But....

Now, with a Republican Senate and House, the Republicans will get to share the blame of President Obama's last six years of setting our country up for a huge fall. Even so, maybe they can put a stop to any additional destructive Executive Orders and other unconstitutional actions. If they don't, they will deserve some of Obama's blame and Hillary will probably be our next President. Like the majority of Americans wanted a black president, in hopes he would do better than some white guy, now, in their frustration, they will probably elect Hillary in hopes of breaking the cycle of insanity... only to discover a deeper, darker form it.

Here is the biggest flag-waver in America...

Tell Me Please, If Christians Do Not Speak Up For Christ And Truth... Who Will?

Common Sense Commentary:  I am not suggesting that we constantly insert ourselves in every conversation, talk over other people or dominate the conversation. But when we see or hear injustice, abuse, lying, or ridiculous statements about God's word or important truths, Christians should simply speak up with humility and respect to others.... but speak up. Ignorance will only spread like a disease and never be silenced without the application of the healing truth. Ignorance invariably leads to bondage. Truth is the only remedy for lies and ignorance.
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32.  But how shall the lost world and the millions of voices of  ignorance and untruths hear the truth without a witness.  As a Christian and a lifetime student of God's word, the Bible, I believe my primary ministry is to speak, preach, teach and witness the gospel, truth, logic and reason that those in darkness might see the light and that other Christians might be moved to do the same......

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear." Phil.1:14.

I received a note this week from a former member of the church I pastored for many years. This lady and her husband are Christians who have raised some fine children, built a successful business, worked hard and never quit. They love our country and go the extra mile for others. She writes of her desire to be a better spokesperson for Christ and the truth, in general. Maybe you can relate to her new motivation to be a faith witness and a vocal advocate of the truth ... in whatever area. Here is her note....

Just wanted you to know that you have inspired me to speak up and have courage….and to quit worrying whether I’m offending someone.  Of course, I know there is a way the Lord wants us to stand up for Him, I've never been an “in your face” sort of person.  But then, neither are you.  But, the time has come in my life to be a “Big Girl” and start defending my faith…because the so called Political Correctness police are rampant right now.  I wonder sometimes if the LORD stands over us shaking his head at the absolute absurdity of the world right now.  Thanks for letting me vent today. God Bless You!!

And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: Ex. 14:15.  In this verse the LORD is telling Moses it's time to do something besides pray ... take action and speak up for the truth. Step out by faith, in front of the people, and lead them forward.

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them.... Ex.14:15. God's people had backslidden, gone astray and became negative and critical of God's commands and God's man. God did not tell Moses to get angry or abandon the people but to ""Speak unto them". Tell them the truth whether they like it or not. This is our calling also.

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God.... 1 Pet.4:11. The word "oracle" means inspiration, revelation or word of God. In other words, speak with the authority of the scriptures, its principles and teachings... but speak.

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour.... Eph.4:25. Stop going along with public policy, political party line, false doctrine, political correctness and socially acceptable blabber.
Speak up and tell the truth.

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Eph.6:20.  We are ambassadors of Christ. Our calling is to represent Him, speak for Him, be faithful to Him. Whatever people think of us.

Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds. That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Col.4:3-4. Let us pray for each other that we might be as the Apostle Paul ... "That God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak ...."

So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 1 Cor.14:9  Speak plainly, simply but with sincerity and passion that the hearers might know this is what you truly believe with all your heart and want the truth to be known. Speak up .... or they may never know !!

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.... Acts 4:29.  Nothing will so influence the unbelieving, the heretic, the politically ignorant and the politically correct as the outspoken, passionate and sincere Christian witness.

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: Acts 18:9.

When you speak and give witness, think of Jesus not the person's reaction or what they think of you. You are, as a Christian, are God's ambassador in this world. Speak what He gives you to speak. RB

Lou Holtz Nails It ....To The Door Of America

Common Sense Commentary: I love clear, simple unequavical truth. Here is some of it. I am not rich, but I do not begrudge the rich of the fruit of their labors.  Envy is detrimental to one's health. RB

Lou Holtz Nails It

The Democrats are right, there are two Americas.  The America that works, and the America that doesn’t.  The America that contributes, and the America  that doesn’t. It’s not the haves and the have nots, it’s the dos and the don'ts.  Some people do their duty as Americans, obey the law, support  themselves, contribute to society, and others don't.  That’s the divide in America.
It’s not about income inequality, it’s about civic irresponsibility.  It’s about  a political party that preaches hatred, greed and victimization in order to win elective office.  It’s about a political party that loves power more than it loves its country.
That’s not invective, that’s truth, and it’s about time someone said it.
The politics of envy was on proud display a couple weeks ago when President Obama pledged the rest of his term to fighting “income inequality.”  He noted  that some people make more than other people, that some people have higher incomes than others, and he says that’s not just.  That is the rationale of thievery.
The other guy has it, you want it, Obama will take it for you.  Vote Democrat.  That is the philosophy that produced Detroit.  It is the electoral philosophy that is destroying America.  It conceals a fundamental deviation from American values and common sense because it ends up not benefiting the people who support it, but a betrayal.
The Democrats have not empowered their followers, they have enslaved them in a  culture of dependence and entitlement, of victim-hood and anger instead of        ability and hope.  The president’s  premise – that you reduce income inequality by debasing the successful–seeks to deny the successful the consequences of their choices and spare the unsuccessful the consequences of  their choices.  Because, by and large, income variations in society are a result of different choices leading to different consequences.
Those who choose wisely and responsibly have a far greater likelihood of success, while those who choose foolishly and irresponsibly have a far greater likelihood of failure.  Success and failure usually manifest themselves in personal and family income.  You choose to drop out of high school or to skip college –  and you are apt to have a different outcome than someone who gets a diploma and pushes on with purposeful education.
You have your children out of wedlock and life is apt to take one course; you have them within a marriage and life is apt to take another course.  Most often in life our destination is determined by the course we take.
My doctor, for example, makes far more than I do.  There is significant income inequality between us.  Our lives have had an inequality of outcome, but our lives also have had an in equality of effort.  While my doctor went to college and then devoted his young adulthood to medical school and residency, I got a job in a restaurant.  He made a choice, I made a choice, and our choices led us to different outcomes.  His outcome pays a lot better than mine.  Does that mean he cheated and Barack Obama needs to take away his wealth?  No, it means we are both free men in a free society where free choices lead to different outcomes.
It is not inequality Barack Obama intends to take away, it is freedom.  The freedom to succeed, and the freedom to fail.  There is no true option for success if there is no true option for failure.  The pursuit of happiness means a whole lot less when you face the punitive hand of government if your pursuit brings you more happiness than the other guy.  Even if the other guy sat on his arse and did nothing.  Even if the other guy made a lifetime’s worth of asinine and short sighted decisions.
Barack Obama and the Democrats preach equality of outcome as a right, while completely ignoring inequality of effort.  The simple Law of the Harvest – as ye sow, so shall ye reap – is sometimes applied as, “The harder you work, the more you get."
Obama would turn that upside down.  Those who achieve are to be punished as enemies of society and those who fail are to be rewarded as wards of society. Entitlement will replace effort as the key to upward mobility in American society if Barack Obama gets his way.  He seeks a lowest common denominator society in which the government besieges the successful and productive to foster equality through mediocrity.  He and his party speak of two Americas, and their grip on power is based on using the votes of one to sap the productivity of the other.  America is not divided by the differences in our outcomes, it is divided primarily by the differences in our efforts.
It is a false philosophy to say one man’s success comes about unavoidably as the result of another man’s victimization.
What Obama offered was not a solution, but a separatism.  He fomented division and strife, pitted one set of Americans against another for his own political  benefit.  That’s what socialists offer.  Marxist class warfare wrapped up with a bow.  Two Americas, coming closer each day to proving the truth to Lincoln’s maxim that a house divided against itself cannot stand.
"Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to  it."

Apostle Paul Rebukes Sin And Honestly Confesses His Own Struggle Against It.

Common Sense Commentary:  "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Heb.4:15.

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Cor. 10:13.

In Bible days any communication, beyond shouting distance, required a long walk by someone. All communications were either verbal or written. Since they didn't have telephones, television, email or a postal department, either the communicator or a messenger walked or road a donkey or camel to deliver the message. The first verbally; the second by written message called an "epistle". Experience had taught communicants that messages, spoken verbally to a messenger, had a tendency to change meanings by the time it reached the addressee. For the sake of accuracy, the message had to be written down in letter (epistle) form and carried to the recipients. Fourteen of the 21 New Testament epistles were written by the Apostle Paul, mostly to churches. The delivery process was so arduous that most of those epistles grew quite long to save time and trips. Paul's epistle to the church in Rome, requiring a long sea voyage, is an example. That epistle is about 15 pages long in the average Bible and would have been a hand written scroll about 15 feet long. In that single letter, Paul covered a long list of subjects pertinent to that particular church. In chapter one he thoroughly rebuked the sins of "all ungodliness" including the sin of homosexuality. If you have ever been to Pompey, a Roman city preserved under millions of tons of volcanic ash, the art work revealed on the walls of the city depict the obsession of the average Roman with all kinds of sex, including homosexuality. So Paul, in Romans 1, after his introduction, spares not the Romans in his bold dissection of the sins they were most inclined to. But then, in this same letter, a few pages later, Paul honestly confesses his own constant spiritual battle with the fleshly temptations of sin, in Romans 7. So, as an Apostle of our Lord, Paul was no harder on the sins of others than he was honest about the temptations he himself struggled with ... in his flesh.

Read and compare these two sections of Paul's letter below:

Romans 1.... (The inexcusability of sin)
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie.... For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly .... And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient...." Romans 1:18-28.

Romans 7.... (The two fold nature of humans)
"For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord....." Rom.7:14-25.
