Imminent Crisis Demands Immediate Urgency... To Action

Common Sense Commentary: Yes, "There is a time to keep silent..." but when the big hand shows a minute to midnight on the Titanic ... this is not that time.

Politico Magazine suggests that a Presidential Candidate should, "Speak softly and carry a big stick", a quote from Theodore Roosevelt.  That is a good policy in more stable times when every thing is rosy, going along smoothly and you're dealing with a foreign power; But when the Titanic is sinking in the cold, dark North Atlantic, it requires a far more urgent, approach to be convincing to the sleeping passengers.  Who wants to jump out of a warm bed and rush into a freezing night to get in a life-boat?
At such times its easier to believe that loud, emphatic shout, "MAN THE LIFE BOATS" is just a drunk tourist pulling a prank or its a test or false alarm. "Go back to sleep." Ecc.3:7 warns, "There is a time to keep silent, and a time to speak".  I might add, "There is a time to speak softly and a time to shout"....."WAKE UP THE HOUSE IS BURNING".

The religious world agrees with Politico ... they want "soft spoken" preachers; But if its true that the lost world is going to hell, as the Bible says, Bible preachers must be convincingly shouting down the corridors of this sinking ship, "MAN THE LIFE-BOATS". There is a time for calm diplomacy and a time for urgent, clear warning ... "LOOK OUT". We have had enough diplomatic diplomacy to put this nation into a Rip Van Winkle coma concerning our present, national dilemma, and more importantly, the eternal destiny of our souls.

You may sleep your way into hell but you will not sleep through it.

Pass it on. RB
