If the Government gave everyone in America One Million dollars, nobody would show up for work the next day and the whole country would shut down. No one there to keep our electricity generating. No one to keep our water flowing. No one at the grocery store, bank, gas station, airport, restaurant. No policemen. Everyone would be out trying to buy something ... but money hungry, lusty, thieves would still be on the job, greedily busy harvesting everyone else's food, clothes, water storage and emergency gasoline, pillaging everybody else's stuff. Money ain't worth a flip if there is nothing to buy or nobody at the store to sell it. So everyone has plenty money but no food, no electricity, no water, no nothing.... but money.
So, you say "That will never happen". No, it won't happen to that extent all at once, but that's because the Government is only giving free money to half the population ... and everyone else has to go to work to earn the other half's free money. So we continue to function or malfunction on down the road of life slowly toward a lesser version of the above scenario until more workers decide to join the slugs for their share of free government money. So fewer and fewer people are doing all the work, and, indeed, businesses start to close, not for lack of customers but lack of workers and lack of products which aren't being produced. The next thing you know, a Million dollars will only buy a sack of groceries or a tank of gas. Yes, we are edging our way there.
