Two Texas Centenarians, Plus, Give God The Credit

The Honor And The Glory....

"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." 2Cor.1:20.

The year Elizabeth Francis was born, the Oval Office was built, the NAACP was formed, Cadillac joined General Motors and the life expectancy for an American woman was shy of 54 years.

Elizabeth Francis of Houston, Texas turned 110 last week, celebrating alongside friends and family. She credits her faith in God for a long and healthy life.

This Texas grandmother  celebrated her 110th birthday on Saturday in Houston, giving credit to her faith in God for a long and healthy life.
Elizabeth Francis, born in Louisiana, was surrounded by family, friends, and community leaders as she rang in an emotional milestone.
"Blessing of the Lord," she told KTRK for the reason she's lived so long. "He's the one keeping me."
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner stopped by and held her hand. Born in 1909 and remaining healthy over the years, Francis has seen six generations of her family.
“It’s really special because she’s been able to watch and see all of her grandchildren grow up and be a part of their lives,” Ethel Harrison, Francis’ granddaughter, told KTRK.
Just last month, another Texas woman, Hattie Mae Allen, turned 105 in Temple, a three-hour drive from Houston, and, like Francis, she also credited God.
“We put Jesus first," Allen, who still teaches on Sundays, said at the time.

Jesus said it: These two women believed it, and Jesus kept his promise to them.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33

Plus, it is almost certain that both of these centenarians obeyed God's admonition to "Honor thy father and mother".
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." Eph.6:2-3

So again, as always, the law of sowing and reaping applies here.

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Gal.6:
