Were Our Founders Right? Are All Men Created Equal?

Is the Declaration Of Independence Accurate?

Our U.S. founding fathers were not gods but men like us, in human form, thoughts and actions. They, like us, were born into this world with gifts, talents, callings and purposes. They were subject to greatness and ignominy, genius and ignorance, success and failure .... God knew which and what of each. One of, if not their greatest accomplishment, was the Declaration Of Independence. In it they asserted, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." 

In that one sentence, these men, placed there by God, confessed the absolute reality of certain truths which are "self-evident" to the honest mind. Their declaration continued to opine that "all men are created equal" which words had been analyzed and chosen after months of consideration and prayer and, indeed, included "all men", meaning all humanity. Today, with Left-wing identity politics squabbling over trivia, many so called "progressives" would riot and burn cars and buildings if Congress were writing the words "all men are created equal" and not include "women". But the Founders were simply using the syntax of the New Testament. Under the Old Testament order, the term "all men" always meant men only, except in a couple of cases. But the New Testament raises the status of women, and all 61 N.T. uses of the term "all men" includes women and all humanity.  It is also significant that the Founders continued to acknowledge God, as "Creator" of all humanity, and His "endowment" upon them all, "with certain unalienable rights", including, among others, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Not happiness itself but the pursuit of it.

Though we are all created equal, it is my opinion that we do not remain "equal" in anything except in the love of God ("for God so loved the world").  God created us equal, but what we think and do, and yield to God, and make of ourselves, by our own choices, and actions, is another matter.  Those things can cost us our Liberty, even our Life, and certainly our Happiness. Prisons, jails, mental institutions and hospitals are full of people who are still loved of God, but who have lost their Liberty, Happiness, and some will lose their Lives there.  They may still have some "other" rights. alluded to above as "among others", and may still "pursue Happiness", and may even catch it, but have still lost their "Liberty" or, if in the cemetery, .... their "Life".  And when our life is lost, that is the Border Fence no illegal alien can climb or dig under. That border fence separates temporal human life, and liberty to choose good or bad, from our eternal destiny in Happiness or Horror, Heaven or Hell.  We are, indeed, created equal, but the death of the our flesh ends equal rights in the Declaration Of Independence or the Constitutional Bill of Rights.  For then, men's rules mean nothing. Only God rules. Truth reigns. Faith lives on. Biblical promises are all kept. Believers live on. God is, and we are ... forever alive, free and happy.
