Spiritual Revival Is America's Only Hope

Common Sense Commentary: Not a balanced budget, jobs, or better politicians ....
but Spiritual Revival is America's only hope of continuing as a great nation. We are no longer a "Christian Nation" though we have always been known to be in the past.  Today, most of the world does not see us that way ... and we do not give that impression by our actions.  Many churches but not much Biblical Christianity.

What is happening to our country today is not a new phenomenon. It has happened many times in human history.  It is a natural, universal law that all things grow old, run down and eventually die. God Himself, and anything He sustains, is the only exception.  Even spiritual revivals have invariably run down in time but made their eternal mark.

As physical strength may be built upon for many years but the inevitable mortality of our flesh always takes its toll:  So, nations may increase in power and prosperity for a thousand years but eventually, if slowly, wilt and die back to the root.  The natural drift of clean is toward filthy.  The natural drift of national character is to depravity.  The masses of earth's inhabitants, however great their nation once was, are now existing in an undesirable state.  A house or business that is not constantly maintained, reorganized, and improved is destined to fall.

The natural erosion of all bad and good things is  downward to dust and ashes.  Truth is always questioned, denied, and perverted in people's minds though truth itself never changes .... it appears to change on the surface.  Power corrupts, strength diminishes and freedom gives way to tyranny.  It has happened to every great kingdom and nation of the past and it is happening in America today.  In my opinion the only thing that will save America from an ignominious end is spiritual revival .... back to the faith of our founding fathers .... Christianity.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."  II Ch.7:14.

The last half of that verse is a promise,  " I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."   But it will never happen unless we, his people, which are called  Christians, obey the first half of the verse, " shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways ."    "THEN"  and ONLY "THEN".....

Pass it on. RB
