Truth Forever On The Scaffold

Common Sense Commentary:  God planted the Garden of Eden and told Adam, "...Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it ..." Gen.2:16-17.  Later, Eve was looking upon that one tree they could not eat of, when Satan said to her, "... hath God said, ye shall
not eat of every tree of the garden?"  In supposedly quoting God, Satan willfully misquoted Him and therefore lied about God's word.  God had said they could eat of "every tree but one" and Satan quoted it, "God said, ye shall NOT eat of  every tree...."  a perversion, as if God was depriving them.  This is common practice with Satan and those who are controlled by him. Many false religions have been founded upon a misquote or erroneous interpretation of God's word. Jn.1 says, Jesus IS the living Word of God.  And in Jn. 14:6, Jesus said, "I am ... the truth..." All truth is God's truth.

It is so obvious, in God's Word, that He intended that all people and all truth should be free. "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." Jesus said it in  Jn.8:32.

God's prophet, Isaiah foretold of a time like unto this very day.... "Judgement is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street,
and equity (right, justice) cannot enter."  Isa.59:4. Does that sound like today?

James Russell Lowell was a Christian and a profusely creative, American poet who lived 72 years and wrote many excellent poems in the 1800's, including these lines:

Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne,
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and, behind the dim unknown

Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above his own.
We see dimly in the present what is small and what is great,
Slow of faith how weak an arm may turn the iron helm of fate.

And so it is. The most evil of men usually feel they are in the right.  The most contradictory religions, to God's word, live and die for what they believe is right and often kill for their "religion".  Since most religions totally disagree, they cannot all be right, but their converts all think it is they who are the chosen ones ... even those who purposely murder innocent people including children.  I speak of those like Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jung Ill and Mao.   I read, this week, of an idealistic, Communist, tyrant who, now that he is dying with cancer, has modified his Communist actions to a more moderate Socialism.  Hugo Chavez now welcomes the Pope and in a Catholic service "eulogized Jesus and Che Guevara", a ruthless Communist, in the same sentence. At best, he is a confused man full of contradictions; the worst of which is that Jesus was a left wing, radical revolutionist, in their understanding of  those words...Communist.
This would be like an American praising Jesus and Castro in the same breath who have nothing in common.

Hugo Chavez weeps and calls on God to spare his life

The Telegraph  April 6, 2012

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez wept and asked God to spare his life during a pre-Easter Mass on Thursday after returning from his latest session of cancer treatment in Cuba. In a televised speech to the Catholic service in his home state of Barinas, Chavez cried and his voice broke as he eulogised Jesus, revolutionary fighter Ernesto "Che" Guevara and South American independence hero Simon Bolivar.

Chavez's election rival, Capriles, has mostly kept quiet about the president's illness, preferring to wish him a speedy recovery so that he can beat him in a fair fight at the polls.

Capriles, 39, took issue this week with repeated comments by Chavez and his allies that Jesus must have been a fellow leftist radical. "This theme is an obsession of the eternal candidate," Capriles said on Twitter, referring to Chavez. "This Holy Week, we should remember Christ was neither socialist nor capitalist."

It is true, "Christ was neither".  His kingdom was "not of this world".  The "all things common" experament of many Christians, immediately after Jesus ascended back into heaven, was totally contrary to Communism and Socialism.  The differences are obvious:  (1) It was not something Jesus or God taught. (2) It was not a church or civil law. (3) It was not forced upon them in any way. (4) It was voluntary and done on an individual basis. (5) Only Christians participated.  (6) Though commendable, on the part of those who chose to do so, it did not last long. RB
