The Ultimate Contradiction

Common Sense Commentary: The Ultimate Contradiction Receives the Maximum Penalty.  The contradiction is the "Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit".  It's penalty is God's
unforgiveness. "...unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him."  Jesus said it in Lk. 12:10.  To learn more about this sin, search my blog titles for "The Unpardonable Sin" 5-25-11 & "Blasphemy Of The Holy Spirit" 1-16-12.

In those two blogs I explain that even speaking against Jesus, in your ignorance,  is forgivable: but to deny what God's Holy Spirit has clearly convinced you of in your soul and to reject what you then know is true ... God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and unforgiveable. If you, right now, still want Christ as your Savior, there is hope for you ... you have not committed that sin.

The Archangel, Lucifer's, unforgivable sin was exactly that.  He KNEW God, Christ and the Holy Spirit.  He had no doubt and did not rebel in ignorance.  He blasphemed that which he knew was true, but tried to take over heaven any way and was cast out and his following angels with him.  This also proves the angels had a "free will".  This was the sin of Pharaoh. Even after God flooded him with miracles of catastrophe until Pharaoh promised to repent if God would call off the plague, he still rejected God.
It was also the sin of Judas.  He had to know Jesus was God's Messiah. The Holy Spirit was all around him, every day, convincing him that Christ was the Messiah.  He saw all the miracles of Jesus, and knew who He was, but betrayed Him to be crucified and, too late, tried to repent.

An atheist (a-theist, Greek=atheos) means, "NO GOD", will say, "No holy spirit has convinced me of a god or spirit or Jesus.  My answer is, He has or will give you at least one opportunity to believe: But, if you deny that opportunity and die in your sin of unbelief, there is no other hope or opportunity for you.   An agnostic (a-gnostic, Greek=agnostos) means, "NO Knowledge", will say, "I do not know if there is a God, Holy Spirit or Jesus". God will also give you at least one opportunity to be save. The Agnostic is still walking the yellow stripe down the middle, between truth and error.

There are no excuses.  Jesus declared  "Ye must be born again." John 3:7. Read it.
To deny God is to confess either ignorance or belligerance.  To deny God is to deny the obvious.   God's word, the Holy Bible, says, "The heavens declare the Glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork." Psm.19:1. Also, "The heavens declare His righteousness, and ALL the people SEE His glory." Psm.97:6. Hear that ??? "All people SEE" God's glory and handiwork in the heavens and firmament which visibly "Declare"  that GOD IS.   "He that cometh to God MUST believe that HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Heb.11:6.  These verses tell us that, even if we didn't have His written word, all of nature, all the heavens and the firmament "declare" the Creator God and "show His handiwork" ... "and ALL people SEE it."  "...So that they are without excuse." Rom.1:20. The heavens He speaks of reach across the universe in every direction to infinity.  We see things today that no generation in history have seen.  The earth appeared enormous in the past but satellites have shone even the Earth as floating in the heavens the smallest of the small.
And, yet, it too declares the glory of God's creation.  Both wise men and savages, of all ages, have instinctively sought the true God.  They have searched for meaning and for origin in the sky, stars, moon, sun, and on earth in animals, mountains, deserts, and oceans.  They have made idols in the likeness of their imagination of who GOD IS.  They have worshiped men, women, stumps and stone in their desperate search for God.   Even the Devil and Demons know GOD IS.   "And behold, (demons) cried out, saying.... Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? Matt.8:29.  But they, and Lucifer, had had their one and only opportunity to worship and serve Jehovah but squandered it.

"He IS" is the believer's confession and acceptance of the indefinable, unpronounceable God whose Biblical name is YHVH, "The Existing One". Vowels were added to make it pronounceable as Yehvah, JeHoVaH.  "I appeared unto Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH (YHVH) was I not known to them." Ex.6:3.  JEHOVAH spoke of Himself in the first person, of course, as I AM  which also means, The Existing One

When God told Moses to go tell Pharaoh, "Let my people go", Moses answered God,
"When I say that,  to your people, they will ask me, "Who sent you to say that", and I tell them "The God of your fathers", and they say, "What is His name",  what shall I tell them?  "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel. I AM hath sent me unto you." Ex.3:13-14.  Jesus also used the
"I am" expression at least 65 times recorded in the New Testament.
For atheist & agnostic readers:  I am well aware that, humanly speaking, the idea of an eternal, all powerful, all knowing, all present, loving Creator God is outside the realm of possibility, incomprehensible, irrational and unbelievable to our fleshly brains.  Our minds cannot accept even the possibility of such a concept.  However, there is another concept that is even more outside the realm of possibility, irrational, incomprehensible and unbelievable and, if fact, more impossible. What could it be?
The idea that there is no such God!  That is ten thousand times more unthinkable. All of His creation sings in harmony, from every grain of sand, star, butterfly and baby's smile that "GOD IS" !!! He says, "I AM" and I say, "He IS".  What do you say?

"If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." 2Tim.2:13.

Pass it on. RB
