There Is Always A Way

Common Sense Commentary: Don't let Satan confuse you, delude you or mislead you. Life's choices are not that complicated. There are not a thousand  different choices each day. Our many decisions
really boil down to just two.

There are only two ways in all the Universe, The Way Of The Lord and all other ways which contradict it. There is Right and Wrong, Truth and False, Good and Evil. The wrong way is a deceptive, delusional way that looks, sounds or feels right ... There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Prov.14;12. This verse is repeated in Prov.16:25. God puts that delusional way in perspective in Prov.13:15... "Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard." The final outcome of error and evil is far more costly, more painful ... "harder" than they first appear, as compared to following the Lord in His way, which may look harder at first but ends in glorious success and happiness... when all is done.

That right way, "The Way Of The LORD", ends in great power and righteousness ..."The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity."  Prov.10:29.
The Right Way is singular and is always the "Way Of The LORD". As Jesus said in Jn.10:7 & 9, "... I am the door of the sheep..... by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." Notice the definite article, "the" which means there is only one door and through that door there is only one "way" which leads to life. Even if some other ways "seem right", if they are not God's Way, they are the Wrong Way. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." Jn.10:1.The devil is a past master at making error seem correct, a lie seem true, a false religion seem good, a false prophet seem sincere. This deludes people into thinking the Wrong Way is easier than the LORD's Way, but in the end, it is always much much harder ..."...the way of transgressors is hard. Prov.13:15.

These two ways a person may travel through life are complete opposites. One has a wide, easy, gateway entrance, the other gateway looks narrow and restrictive. One way is broad and fun looking, the other is narrow and difficult looking. One leads up, the other down, one leads to a precipice of destruction, the other leads to life. Jesus described and compared them this way, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt.7:13-14.
God's prophet, Isaiah, foretold the coming of John the Baptist as the forerunner of Christ, and identified John as "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." Isa.40:3. This prophecy is referenced, by Jesus,
in all four of the Gospels. John the Baptist, the last Old Testament prophet and first New Testament preacher was the forerunner on the Way Of Righteousness ..."For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Matt.21:32.

Our calling and commission is similar to John the Baptist's ... "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight." Mark 1:3. We work together with our Lord, in His Way, to help our fellow human beings, who are lost and cannot find the way, to come to Jesus ... in His Way. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6. As the Apostles preached "The Way Of The Lord" to the people of Jerusalem, their message was so powerful and personal to each person that it caused an uproar, "And... there arose no small stir about that way." Acts 19:23. That is exactly what we Christians need to be doing today ... causing "no small stir about that way". We mostly don't even cause a ripple. We have the same job to do, today, as the Apostles had. Jesus said unto them and unto us, : "As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight." Luke 3:4. The Way Of The Lord is where we are to be, to live and to work. It is in this way that we learn and teach "The Way Of The Lord"......From hopelessness to hopefulness. From helplessness to helpfulness. From friendlessness to friendfulness.  From lovelessness to lovefulness. From resourcelessness to resourcefulness. From fearfulness to fearlessness. From doubtfulness to doubtlessness. From regretfulness to regretlessness. From hatefulness to hatlessness. From selfishness to selflessness.
Some of these attributes are not real words, but you understand them... don't you.

Yes, there is a way.  However impossible it may seem, however difficult, however painful ... There is always a way over a thing, under a thing or through a thing. It is The Way Of The Lord. You can find that way, you can walk in it, and you can live in it, and there remain for eternity. It is the way called "a more excellent way" 1 Cor.12:31, the "new and living way" Heb.10:19-20, "The way of truth" 2 Pet.2:2.

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." Isa.30:21.
