Slippery Slope Hope Vs. The Blessed Hope

All else will fail ... except the Blessed Hope....

Slippery Slope Hope

(1) Hoping there is no God. Atheism means "No God". A theist = "A" meaning "No" and "theist" meaning "God or Deity". Amoral means "No morals", Asexual means "No sex" and Agnostic means "No knowledge of". Atheists, denying a God, were forced, in the face of a universe full of stars and an earth full of miraculous realities, to invent an explanation for how it all came to be. We humans have only one of two choices as to how it all happened. Either it was created, which requires an intelligent origin ... a Creator God, or it just happened somehow on its own, by some freak action of nature ... Evolution. But where did the first speck of material and the first spark of life come from  and where did nature and the power behind the Big Bang come from?  So since the Atheist cannot possibly know for sure there is "No God", down deep in his soul, he is really a doubter and therefore an Agnostic. In my opinion all
Atheists and Agnostics are secretly hoping there is no God, and therefore, no Holy Bible, no hell and, of course, no Creator. So they are standing on the slippery slope of evolution and denial of the visible facts of a phenomenal, intelligent creation. When they ridicule Christians, they are simply trying to reinforce and convince themselves.

(2) Hoping in a false religion or false god for deliverance, because they can see the miracle of creation and cannot deny the existence of a Creator, so they seek out and embrace what appears, to them, to be an explanation of God. This search for truth, origins, peace and purpose, drives them into the worship of false gods such as Allah, Muhammad, Buda, famous people, powerful people, athletic idols, movie stars, self worship or any one of 4200 man made religions in the world. Anything a person puts before the one true God, Jehovah, and His extension from Heaven, Jesus Christ, is on another slippery slope sliding down into the abyss.

(3) Hoping in the Pope, Preacher, Priest, Parents, or Politicians to provide their necessities and desires, hear their requests, comfort them, protect them and forgive them of their sins, which all men fear the consequences of, on judgment day. But, of course, those mere humans can't even save themselves much less someone else.
Even the best saint who ever lived can't save his/her own soul and no one else can repent to God for them. If your hope lies within anyone or anything except God Himself through faith in the Saviour He has provided, Jesus Messiah, it is a false hope and a slippery slope  which is all down hill.

(4) Hoping in medicine, doctors, hospitals or pseudo science such as Cryogenics. Cryogenic freezing is the dubious process of seeking to preserve a dead body with liquid nitrogen. These purveyors of false hope believe that scientists will soon perfect a means to thaw out dead bodies, warm them up and bring them back to life. This assumes that one day doctors will be able to cure the disease or physical failure that killed you and is untreatable now.
This process can cost about a quarter of a million dollars for the whole body or $100,000 for just the head....for whatever benefit that may be of use to them. Hook it up to a headless robotic body maybe. They guarantee nothing and who will be around to sue when it doesn't work? Sounds like one more way of getting your money and giving you, in return, some slippery slope hope.

There is, however, a blessed and eternal hope which is free to you, paid for in full, by Jesus Christ, and offered to anyone who accepts it in an attitude of repentance and faith in Him, and His promise of eternal life....

The Blessed Hope...

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Pet.1:3.

"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil." Heb.6:19

At this advanced age in life, an old man has little left except memories, love, faith, and hope. As memory fades like the setting sun, love grows stronger, and the hope of my faith arises steadily brighter as the dawn of new life in a new eternal day. And seeing you there will be a huge reward of my blessed hope. I love you all and, I hope, to see you in glory. RB
