Mathematics of The Master Mathematician

Common Sense Commentary:

The pinnacle of Biblical mathematics is found in the words of Jesus, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1 John 5:7.
That being the case, it must also be appropriate to say, "This One is Three."  Since God is creator of all things, including Mathematics, He is not held to any standard except His own.  "Three are one" is not comprehensible to the human brain ... but doesn't need to be.  God designed the brain, with limitations, obviously, but He isn't limited by human understanding.
To explore the subject of "three in one", let me suggest this principle in the simplest form with my maximum capability which is also simple.  One might also say, "This one egg is three things, a shell, a yoke and a white (albumen) or, better still, this H20 has three realities, liquid, ice and steam. These three are one thing... H20.  Each of these forms of water is also a mix of three equal measures ... two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen... three are one. But the best, I think, is to introduce a father, a son, and a brother who are all three in one husband. He is a son of his parents, a father to his children and a brother to his siblings but he is one man.  This is a  feeble explanation of the Holy Trinity (three in one) and our Triune (three in one) God, but as close as I am able to explain the Divine in human terms.  Not being Divine, "human" is all I have. The Divine mathematics of God do not add up in brain cells made of dirt.  Literally everything on earth comes out of the soil or, "dust of the ground".

Since God and Time and Space are infinite, they cannot be measured with numbers, centuries, distance,  comparables or any other kind of analysis.  But every mathematical metric and method used in the effort is designed and ordered by God.  He uses the math terms, hundreds of times in Scripture.  He apparently has everything numbered.  He numbers the birds, animals and people. "Even the very hairs of your head are numbered." Lk.12:7.  He even has a book of "Numbers" in the Bible which is full of numbered things.  The last book in the Bible warns of a numbered "beast". "COUNT  the NUMBER of the beast; for it is the NUMBER  of a man; and his NUMBER  is 666." Rev.13:18.

God Subtracts, Adds, Multiplies and Divides.

ISubtraction = 384 times, in the Bible, it says God "Takes away" things and people. He takes away possessions, sin, loved ones, guilt, life and many other references. I especially took note of Ezek.45:9 "Thus saith the Lord God ... O princes (rulers)... remove violence and spoil (confiscated riches) and execute justice, take away your exactions (expulsions/subtractions) from my people...."  In brief form, "Subtract your subtractions from my people" or "stop robbing (excess taxes) and abusing them".

II. Addition = The "add" verse that caught my eye was Rev.22:18 "... If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book."

III. Multiplication = God multiplies blessings and judgement in Scripture but I like this one...
"Surely blessing I will bless thee, and   multiplying I will multiply thee.  Heb.6:14.

IV. Division = God "divided" the waters from the land in Gen.1. He "divided" the day from the night. He "divided" the Red Sea for his people in Exodus.  He "divided" the Promised Land between the 12 tribes of Israel and they are still having to fight for it."And (Jesus) took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, take this, and divide it among yourselves...." Lk.22:17.

Our Creator God is neither limited nor affected by time. He is YHWH, the "Eternal Existing One", the ever present, timeless, only God of the Universe. "One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2Pet.3:8.

Pass it on. RB
