Common Sense Commentary: How deluded and wicked must one be to prefer Islam's hate, arrogance and butchery to Christ's love, humility and forgiveness? It is one of those baffling, incomprehensible enigmas that is impossible to untangle or explain. It can only be observed as an example of the reprobative mental function and depravity of fallen, sinful, human flesh. It clearly reflects the perverted mind of Lucifer, passed on to his own. It may also bear witness to the power of childhood environment and fear of punishment or rejection. Regardless of the elements which determine such awful contradiction to reason, every person is answerable to God for him/herself (Rom.14:12) ... We are answerable for our own mistakes, sins and refusal to hear and embrace "That true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." Jesus said it in John 1:9.
Lucifer was the first to reach that level of ill-conceived jealousy, pride and rebellion, as described in Isa.14:11-15. He passed his evil on to those of whom Jesus spoke when He said, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your
father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there
is no truth in him." Jn.8:44.
Well known and demonstrated for the last 4000 years, is the conflict between Isaac and Ishmael, the two sons of Abaham, by different mothers, Sarah, his wife and Hagar, their maid. The hatred of Ishmael's descendents, the Arabs, for Isaac's descendents, the Jews and conflict with other nations was predicted. God said of Ishmael and his descendents, "And he will be a wild man; his
hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he
shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." Gen.16:12.
Yes, they were half brothers and their descendents, half cousins. They are both simites through Abraham back to Shem, one of Noah's three sons. Both Jews and Arabs often name their sons Abraham. Jews also name their sons Isaac and Arabs, their sons, Ishmael. Ishmael's name, composed of three sylables, means ...Ish = "Having the undesirable qualities of" plus, mael = "to grind". The prophecy of a "wild man" has truly been lived out in the "Undesirable quality of the grinding" religion of Ish-mael.
God Gave Abraham and his descendents the Middle-eastern lands. He gave Isaac the holy lands of Israel, yet unattained fully, and the surrounding territory to the Arab nations descended from Ishmael. "And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto
thy seed will I give this land... Gen.12:7. However, the "blessing" promise He gave Abraham was through his legitimate, son of promise, Isaac. "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse
him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Gen.12:3. This special blessing can not be seen at all in the descendents of Ishmael, and only in the descendents of Isaac ... in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the exceptional difference, and blessing, between the Jews and all other nations. God chose them as a people to be the ancestoral family tree of Jesus Christ, His Son. That is what makes them special. Jesus was a Jew.... in his flesh ... and God, in His Spirit.
The irrational claim of Ishmaelites that Islam is a religion of peace is like claiming that a roaring lion, tracking a lamb, is a carniverous "Beast" of peace. God said they would be "wild" and "against every man" who does not yield to their religion of intimidation.
Of course, some Arabs reject Islam, follow Christ ... and often defend Israel. Here, again is an example of the children of light and the children of darkness.
Today's version of the enigma of Islam is that most of the world prefers Islam to Christianity and Muslims to Jews. Strange indeed. RB
