Knowledge: The Key That Opens All Doors

Common Sense Commentary:   "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered." Luke 11:52. Jesus said it.
Whatever you are planning, that is worthwhile and important, a primary KEY to success is to saturate yourself with pertinent information. Expose yourself to the experts in that field, which was nearly impossible prior to the internet, but is no longer.
Everyone has the entire world's knowledge at the touch of a KEYboard. During my 36 years as a pastor, what took me days to research, for a sermon or research project, I can now do in an hour ... or minutes. I can touch a KEY to get a search engine. Then touch a few more, and before I get past the first syllable or two, my computer anticipates my word or question, spells it out and opens an information window on the world. It will instantly scan all the libraries and information centers of the world, and fire back a million hits or likely sources of what I seek... or the answer itself.

The only real excuse for lack of knowledge and success today is ignorance (not knowing). I recently saw a video of very poor people, in the hinterlands of deepest Africa, depositing and withdrawing money from distant banks, with their cell phones. Korea is more wired than the U.S. and China has more internet users than we do. Today, handicapped people can make their way through the internet and even make a living there. Even poverty cannot, or should not, keep a person in the darkness of ignorance. Knowledge is Power. "...A man of knowledge increaseth strength." Prov.24:5.

The millions of computer literate and internet users are constantly casting aside relatively new computers for newer, more powerful ones. These "used" computers are worth almost nothing on the market but work fine for beginners ... who want to learn.
One of the KEYS to unlocking poverty, ignorance, radicalism, racism and failure is information .... facts, light, truth. "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Jn.8:32. It even works with physical, mental and economic bondage. Knowledge is power.  In all of the above, I am speaking of physical, not spiritual, locked doors and KEYS.

The Locked Door of spiritual bondage cannot be opened by science, food, clean water, shelter or computers. That solid, steel door of spiritual ignorance can only be opened with a spiritual KEY... spiritual truth ... Jesus Christ. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jn.14:6.
Jesus Christ is the KEY to the house of God, the royal room of the Throne of David, which was prepared for Jesus as a physical descendant of King David through Mary and even His step-father Joseph. Isaiah prophesied JESUS as the KEY...."And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open." Isa.22:22.

Jesus lent the KEY authority to His church during this Church Age ..."And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Matt.16:19.

This eternal KEY authority to open and shut, bind and loose, is His alone, forever...
"These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth." Rev.3:7.

The only key you and I have is the key to our own hearts...
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Rev.3:20.
Only you have the key to your  heart and only you can open that door. Jesus will knock and call your name, but he will not force that door open. You must want Him in and you must open the door.  You have that key. Will you let Jesus come in? He will not force you.  RB
