Stealing is stealing whether it is an individual criminal with a knife or a government with a badge, a gun and an Executive Order to forcibly take what is yours. They are both crooks.... thieves.
Now Poland has announced the government will confiscate $37 billion government bonds out of state run government pension funds. They will then cancel these government bonds (debt) and rob retirees of $37 billion of their retirement hopes. Many, in the know, financial writers and economists have been predicting this would begin to happen this year and continue country after country across the globe, and not just government pension funds but private as well. Considering all the other corrupt, dishonest and ill-conceived government infractions recently, it is not surprising that they would, after spending us into bankruptcy, make the working, tax payers pay for politician's mis-deeds as well. I withdrew my IRA funds, and paid the penalty four years ago for this very reason. I won't say what I did with it ... but you can guess. Even in the very best case scenario, our government could force all retirement funds to be invested in U.S. Treasury notes or bonds at 1% or 2% interest. That is still stealing.

A great and "faithful" country of law and order and righteousness becomes a promiscuous harlot full of murderers and worthless money when it's political leaders (princes) become rebellious thieves who take bribes are self-serving, and care not for orphans and widows.
"How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. Thy silver is become dross .... Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them." Isa.1:21-23.

The true nature of the world's first, recorded, Socialist:
"Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein." John 12:4-6.

When the victim kills the thief, he shall not be punished:
"If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die,
there shall no blood be shed for him." Ex.22:2.
