Angels, Archangels And Fallen Angels.... A Holy War

Common Sense Commentary: Any appearance of the supernatural or a professing of spirituality, which does not align with God's word, the Holy Scriptures, is a lying spirit luring souls into Lucifer's world of deception and eternal doom.

There are two classifications of angels that we know about, a host of Ministering Messenger Angels and three Archangels.

The Ministering, Messenger Angels:

In the word "angel", the "el" refers to God and the word means "Messenger of God". There is a
"host" of thousands of these lesser angels Their calling is to worship God, carry God's will to His Saints and minister to them. "And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship himAnd of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits .... Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" Heb.1:6-14. Now if the good angels are "spirits" dealing with the "heirs of salvation", the fallen angels are also "spirits", evil spirits or demons, attacking and tempting people. The word "angel" is found over 100 times in the Old Testament and over 150 times in the much smaller New Testament. So the "host  of angels"  are ministering, messenger spirits. These angels seem to have been originally assigned, one third to each of the three Archangels. At least, Lucifer led a third of them in rebellion against God...."And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon .... And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth ....And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,.... And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." Rev.12:3-9. So the eternal destiny of those third of the lesser angels who battled with Lucifer (Satan) against God is told by Jude ... And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day." Jude 1:6.

The Archangels:

The definition of "Archangel" is "Chief Messenger Of God". It will be an Archangel who heralds the Second Coming Of Christ in 1 Thess.4:16 ..."For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Thess. 4:16 -17.
It doesn't say which of the two Archangels, remaining in heaven, this is, but my guess is, Gabriel.

Archangel Gabriel: The definition of Gabriel's name is, "Mighty Is God". I would call him the Chief Teacher Archangel. The "Mighty" in his name speaks not of mighty action, but of mighty character ... as in the hymn "A mighty Fortress Is Our God"... Impenetrable, Immovable, Impassable.

Here are verses referencing Gabriel's calling and service to God:

"And I (Daniel) heard a man's voice .... which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. So he came near where I stood: and .... said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be." Daniel 8:16-19.

"Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding." Dan.9:21-22.

"And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? ..... And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings." Luke 1:18-19.

"And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women..... And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest...." Luke 1:26-32.

Archangel Michael: The definition of Michael's name is "Who Is Like God". Michael is the Chief Defender and Contender against God's enemies and impostors.

Here are verses referencing Michael's calling and service to God:

"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me (Daniel) one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me ....." Dan.10:13. (Note phrase "one of").

"Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened meAnd said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me. Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince" Dan.10:18-21.

"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book." Dan. 12:1

"Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of  dignities.
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee." Jude 1:8-9.

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels," Rev.12:7.

So the Archangel Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon, Serpent, Lucifer, Satan, Devil, and his fallen angels, evil spirits, demons .... which brings us to the X-Archangel... Lucifer, Son Of The Morning and once Reflector Of God's Glory... Shinning One.

Archangel Lucifer: The definition of his name is "Shinning One" or "Reflector Of God's Glorious Light".  Ezekiel explains why Lucifer's name, meaning "Shinning One" was given to him by God. He was covered with "every precious stone", all of which were faceted to reflect God's glorious light.
"Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.....thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground...." Ezek.28:13-17. The fact that he was "in Eden the garden of God", "the anointed cherub", "was upon the holy mountain of God" before he was cast out, "was perfect" until he sinned, and was "corrupted by reason of his brightness", proves beyond doubt exactly who he was...  Lucifer the X-Archangel. Though addressed to the King of Tyrus, the King of Tyrus was obviously completely possessed and controled  by the Devil

Lucifer, by name, is mentioned just once in the Bible in Isa. 14:9-16.
"Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming .... All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we?....Thy pomp is brought down to the grave .... How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morninghow art thou cut down to the ground .... For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms ...." Isa.14:9-16.  One small Christian clan claims Lucifer's original, God given name was Lucifel  meaning "Shinning One Of God", but the "el" meaning "God" was lost with his banishment from God's presence. They make that claim because the other Archangel's names both end in "el" so Lucifer's must have as well. Its a likely scenario but we have no scriptural proof of it. At any rate, his name, Lucifer, meaning "Shinning One" is a grievous affront to him in that he is now lightless, shineless, worthless and dull without the glorious light of God to reflect. He has no light of his own. Without any small glimmer of glory, Lucifer, whose nature and kingdom are darkness ... wars against God's light.  "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high  places."  Eph.6:12.

The first element of war is to know your own
cause, Command,  weapons and tools of war.

The second element of war is to know your
enemy and his cause, weapons and tools of war.

The third element of war is to know you will
either be victorious or die In That Holy Cause.
