If You Think You Can Lose It, You Must Think You Deserve It

Your Salvation Hinges On Christ's Holiness, Not Yours

If you think, after you have truly repented, accepted Christ, and been born again, that you can then lose your salvation because of something you do wrong or fail to do right, then you must believe you deserved it before you lost it, which is a total misunderstanding of how you got it in the first place.
We didn't deserve it when we got it, never have deserved it and never will deserve it because of anything we do or don't do.  Forgiveness and eternal salvation is God's "gift" to repentant sinners and must be accepted as a gift or not at all. If we had to earn it, deserve it or pay for it, it would no longer be a "gift".

The greatest preacher who ever lived, the Apostle Paul, declared himself "chief" of sinners long after he was saved by the grace of God. He was explaining to young Timothy that Christ did not die for good people, because there weren't any good enough, but that He (Jesus) died "to save sinners; of whom I am chief", Paul said.

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." 1 Tim.1:15.

Notice, Paul doesn't say, "of whom I was chief", past tense verb, but "of whom I am chief", present tense verb. Paul leaves no room for misunderstanding when he expounded on this subject in Romans 7:14-25. The Apostles never thought of themselves as worthy or deserving salvation, and neither should anyone else. We are sinners saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ ...

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Eph.2:8.

When a child is physically born from its mother's womb, into this world, there is no process by which that child can get unborn. And when a lost sinner is born again, spiritually, into the family of God there is no process by which that truly born again Christian can get unborn. Jesus told Nicodemus, in Jn.3:3-7 ...  "Ye must be born again",   not again and again and again. Both physical birth and spiritual birth can only happen once in a person's life.

Jesus, himself, personally promised that    "... He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." John 6:47.   Everlasting means lasting forever and forever never ends.
Hebrews says plainly that to be saved, born again, more than once is "IMPOSSIBLE".

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Heb.6:4-6.

That verse doesn't say Christians can fall away, but "if" they could, they could never be saved again because Jesus would have to die again for them which he will never do. Rom.6:10 says Jesus "died once" only for our sins and lives forever, never to die again.
So just stay prayed up, repented up and living as faithfully as possible for God's glory ... and your good... and rest there.
