Detroit's Unions And Socialism Demands Destroyed Themselves And Their City ... As Did California

Common Sense Commentary: Detroit, known as "Motor City", is the Greece of America. And I do not mean Motor Oil but the ancient nation of freedom, and birthplace of free enterprise, the Olympics, soccer, money and civilization itself. The Greece that has become the opposite of it's former genius and self reliant history. The Greece that embraced socialism after WWII and became foolish and economically reckless as a welfare state. The Greece that has borrowed $billions from the European Union and other nations to pay it's Socialistic commitments... and kept borrowing to pay the repayments on those loans. They are now in a deep pit of unplayable debt and the EU wants them to pay up, and will lend them more money to pay payments on those previous loans lest Greece declare bankruptcy or align with Russia and China against the EU. They know if Greece falls, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland will be next. It's a mess similar to the one Detroit is now in and California is headed for rapidly. The Obama Government would bail Detroit out but that would set a precedent requiring them to bail out other bankrupt cities and states too ... including California. Socialistic welfare is like drug addiction; It is nearly impossible to quit and given time, destroys it's host every single time. Ironically the U.S. has more such debt than all other countries combined. We, as a nation, are on the same ruinous track as Detroit, California and Greece. So its "Good grief Detroit" and "Good night California". RB

Detroit, Murder City,Has Fewest Cops Patrolling Streets In Nearly 100 Years

DETROIT (WWJ /AP) – The Detroit Police Department is suffering from its worst manpower shortage in nearly a century.
There are currently fewer officers patrolling the city than at any time since the 1920s. At one point, the Detroit police force was over 5,000. Today, the force is just 1,590 officers strong — and not all of those are on the street.
The city has lost nearly half its patrol officers since 2000 and ranks have shrunk by 37 percent in the past three years alone, according to the Detroit News. It’s so bad that precincts are reportedly left with only one squad car at times.
“This is a crisis, and the dam is going to break,” Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, told the newspaper. “It’s a Catch-22: I know the city is broke, but we’re not going to be able to build up a tax base of residents and businesses until we can provide a safe environment for them.”
It’s important to note that the city’s population has fluctuated greatly over the years. Here’s a breakdown of data segments comparing the number of officers to Detroit residents, according to the report. The city’s current citizen-to-officer ratio is 448 to 1.
  • 1920: 897 officers — population of 993,678
  • 1930: 3,141 officers — population of 1,568,662
  • 1950: 3,548 officers — population of 1,849,568
  • 1970: 3,973 officers — population of 1,511,482
  • 1990: 3,312 officers — population of 1,027,974
  • 2000: 3,139 officers — population of 951,270
  • 2015: 1,590 officers — population of 719,777
.
Budget cuts have hit the department and some have left to work elsewhere.

And then there is California,
our nation's trendsetter...

One of the strangest phenomena among the masses of humanity is the inclination to mimic, by patterning, their own beliefs, actions, fashion, hair-dos and vocabulary after the very worst examples. The majority, it seems, are intrigued with the negative extreme. Gangsters, Motor Cycle Gangs, strange hair styles and clothing, Hollywood, European Socialism, and  Picasso's abstract type ugly art and abstract rap, hip hop and ugly music... and then there is California. RB

I  received this note, with a link about a dying California, from a friend ...

All of my life, the gospel of trends has been ... "Look at California if you want to know what the rest of America will look like in 10 years".  Well, take a peek at how well our first socialist state. with open borders. worked out. But we must keep pumping the precious water past America's
San Joaquin Valley bread basket ... to the fine citizens in Sodom,  Gomorrah, and Babel so they can splash around in the surf and enjoy their welfare checks.

Divine intervention from the heavens appears their only salvation ... Ooops, I forgot, they are a secular  Socialistic  state, guess they will stew in their own collective pot.  So read it and weep ...
"Good Night California"
