Compounding Guilt: Double-Downing Sin

Common Sense Commentary: God's word tell us that, ".... all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Rom.3:23.  That being true, when God's Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, we have the option of either confessing our sins to God, and receiving forgiveness from Him, through Christ, or denying our sins (double-downing) and compounding our guilt. Denying what the Holy Spirit has convinced and convicted us of, is gambling with our souls by "double downing", or doubling our risk of loss against what God knows to be truth.  Double downing is a gambler's trick which can result in finally winning back your loses by doubling your bet each time, over and over until you finally get lucky and win back your loses... at the big green table.  It doesn't work with God, though a host of losers try it by lying about their guilt of sin and then lying about their lying. Guilt compounded!

There are a number of cults who teach their blinded followers that it is possible to live in this flesh without sinning.  Since the Apostle Paul, who was used of God to write half the books of the New Testament, confessed his own disability to live in this body without sinning (Rom.7:6-25), these cults have to deny the Pauline Epistles and everything else in the Bible which contradicts their heresy of  personal, fleshly, sinless perfection.

These deluded religionists not only have their original, sinful depravity to answer for but their additional lying  that they "do not sin", plus contradicting God's word that they are, in fact sinners, and therefore are calling Him a liar.  That, my friends, so compounds a sinner's guilt that many are hopelessly buried so deep in denial that they have convinced themselves that they are as righteous, in their flesh, as Jesus.

"If we say that we have (present tense verb) no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:8-10.

This verse, given by God to the Apostle John, was written by him "whom Jesus loved"(Jn.13:23)., who also wrote down the quotes from Jesus in the Gospel of John, which this cult says is all they believe. Since John was not quoting the direct words of Jesus, in 1 John, as he was in the Gospel of John, do they think John was lying in the above verse concerning the absolute sinfulness of us all ? Now be careful that you do not double down and Gamble with your soul by lying about your lying. RB
